I’m sure if the “slim” phone becomes reality, it won’t be called that. “Slim” sounds like an internal placeholder name. Everyone needs to calm down.

On the other hand, I have found that the iPhone Plus is the perfect combination of features and battery life for me. So of course it’s going away.

The iPhone 17 Pro models will purportedly feature 12GB of memory, a triple 48-megapixel rear camera system, and an A19 Pro chip fabricated with TSMC's N3P process
12 GB? I was planning to replace my aging iPhone 11 Pro Max this year with the iPhone 16 Pro, but all of a sudden I feel like I can hold out for one more year. 🤯

(I wonder if the iPhone 17 Slim Shady might be worth upgrading to?)

Expecting to see a higher priced model in 2025. Probably will be named Ultra and it might be slimmer. But don't think a costlier model will have Aluminium instead of Titanium and also have a smaller display than Pro Max. Also not expecting it to have less RAM/memory than the Pro Max.

Why would anybody buy that “slim” when all it has is slim body and nothing better than pro max

Still a way to go but by the sound of this Apple have lost the plot.

I'm not paying more for a phone that has a smaller screen sizer, lower quality camera, weaker material, and less RAM. If you want more money from me then do the opposite! Bigger screen, better camera, more RAM, etc.

Good luck to the Apple Store employees explaining to customers that the "slim" model is more advanced than the "pro" model, and at the same time explaining that the MacBook Air is the base model MacBook.

The lineup is becoming a mess.
The lineup is a mess or is it a sketchy rumor of a product that's more than 1 year away that is a mess?

With all iPhones getting so big, beginning at roughly 6.3”, I just hope Apple launches a smaller iPhone 18 slim in 2026, at 6” maximum. Otherwise… I think they will lose me as a customer when my SE 3 is left out of support. Sadly, because I love iOS and the Apple ecosystem integration, but…

Well, now that I think of it, there’s no smaller Android device either. We’re ducked.

Slim will be better than Pro, with a smaller screen? That makes no sense marketing wise.
I don't think screen size makes a difference.. in 2017 Apple released the iPhone X alongside the iPhone 8 plus. the X was a much superior phone but had a smaller screen size... Specs were much better though and form factor was new. This is what might be happening here.

Though true I terms of usable screen area, the X was marketed as having a bigger display than the 8 Plus: 5.8 vs 5.5 inch.

iPhone 17 lineup, with pricing, 14 months before release - lmao.
Sure, if you want to believe that "leaker" ...

None of this makes sense, unless the goal is now to squeeze every dollar from the client base.

Battery life has improved to the point where I think everyone would like slim light phones. The clunky heavy steel phones have me missing the Mini. Can we not get a basic slim light iPhone without paying MacBook prices?

I have to applaud Tim Cook on his gatekeeping of desirable features.

If it's real, the coming iPhone SE will be more than enough for me... Linepup should be :
- iPhone SE: more than enough for most
- iPhone Malarkey

iPhone 'Slim' ?? Why not call it the 'Jony Ive Commemorative Edition?'

Not sure I buy these specs, but whatever, I'm not tapping my fingers waiting to buy anything.

You'd think the 17 Pro would get at least 16gb of RAM?

Perhaps Apple Intelligence won't really be ready until iPhone 18 then.

I prefer slim but I wouldn't buy it on release date. Would wait for few months to get feedbacks. Hope that it won't create HeatGate.
