Perhaps making space at the top for the 2026 premium Air and Fold models with titanium. The Air may move above the Pro next year with some additional features.
The Air moving above the Pro would make no sense from a product segmentation perspective. If the Fold has additional features over the Pro, that makes lots of sense, since that damn thing will be at least $2,000...

You are not the arbiter of what qualifies as innovation. I'll go with the 1+ Billion active and repeat Apple customers who continue to purchase Apple products year after year after year. And propelling Apple to being one of the most successful consumer tech companies in the world.
I am not blind. I see what products other companies have. But yes…aluminium frame is a game changer, agree

I have a 15 PM, and... nothing excites me. I might upgrade, if the carrier deals make it make sense, but - looks like basically identical.

Yup... with Apple manufacturing 600,000+ iPhones per day (on the average), every day of the year, to keep their 1+ Billion active and repeat active customers happy.

While continuing to make Apple one of the most successful consumer tech companies in the world. And irritating those that believe Apple is doomed and not able to innovate (yet again).
Yes, those that believe that Apple is doomed, they just do not know what innovation is.

Yes, those that believe that Apple is doomed, they just do not know what innovation is.

And Apple has been doomed since releasing the first iPhone. I remember all of the: "Who asked for a non-mechanical keyboard on a mobile phone?" Pass...

Actually, before that with: "Who asked for a thousand songs in your pocket?" Referring to Jobs' iPod introduction.

Nobody has yet been able to articulate what "innovation" is. Other than Apple doesn't do it.

Don’t worry Apple will come up with a new name for the aluminum chassis and say it’s revolutionary.

They will call it “Quantum HyperAluminum” and everybody will absolutely love it. 🤡
…next year « upgrade » (again back) to Titanium.

Remember Magsafe? Gone, then a quiet comeback. The move away from physical keys to the Touchbar then backagain?
Can hear Tim now (in his subtle southern drawl)…. »and now » (drum roll) …Titanium! (ooh, ah from the canned audience).

For me the 48-megapixel rear telephoto camera is the only thing that’s vaguely compelling. I hope they’ve managed to keep something secret.

I've been using iPhones since the 3GS, and honestly, the last time an iPhone felt truly innovative to me was the iPhone 7. Since then, it seems like developers have been more innovative than Apple itself. But that's just me. Maybe you have found something innovative around your workflow.

The back is obnoxious. There is nothing elegant or thoughtful design of the rear of these iPhones for years. It’s like the iGor of Young Frankenstein designed it. 🤢 iPhone X was the least obnoxious design when they started this fiasco of ugly.

Here we go! I held out with my 12 Pro Max for another year, specifically for this and the 12 GB RAM.

Hopefully the 3.5X / 7X rumours are true:

0.5X / 1X / 2X / 3.5X / 7X
Those are indeed great choices. 3.5x for portrait, 7x for afar.

Genuinely asking, how do you think you would notice the difference?

It’s not as durable. Aluminum is more likely to dent or chip. It’s also just not perceived to be as luxurious or nice. There’s a reason the Apple Watch only uses aluminum on the lower end models. If I’m paying a premium for a top end phone, I want nicer materials.

I used to love my 15 Pro Max (stolen by a pickpocket), so I am super ready for a 17 Pro Max
  1. Better over all cameras,
  2. Better display
  3. Better battery life
  4. Better performance due to more ram and a better chip
  5. Better cooling system
  6. Better wireless charging.
  7. Noticeable design changes.
The only thing that I could ask for is better glass resistance against drops. I always dream of using the iPhone without a cover/case. At most, I would put an extra glass as a glass protector on the front, but this new design is not compatible with a back glass protector.

So much great new technology!!
Tell me more about this Dark Blue you speak of.

You’re talking about buying a phone that’s two years newer.

I would certainly hope it’s “better”.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to convey by listing out “everything is better”…
😂

It would actually be a little weird if you had bullet points that were things that were not better or for some reason worse!

Perhaps iOS itself will fall into that category, however.
😬

Seems like people are encouraged to talk about how the new phones are underwhelming, but discouraged from thinking that the new phones are better. Let the guy be excited about his new phone.
