So very ugly and not at all inspiring. Next. I cannot believe this...but Android phones are now starting to look tempting !!!
Apple's iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max should launch in late September, and there are plenty of rumors about the devices.

Below, we recap key changes rumored for the iPhone 17 Pro models, as of July 2025:
Check out our iPhone 17 Pro roundup to learn more.
- Aluminum frame: iPhone 17 Pro models are rumored to have an aluminum frame, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models have a titanium frame, and the iPhone X through iPhone 14 Pro have a stainless steel frame. The back of the devices will supposedly have a new "part-aluminum, part-glass" design.
- Anti-reflective display: While it has been an on-again, off-again rumor, the latest word is that iPhone 17 Pro models will feature an anti-reflect display option with a matte finish. Perhaps this will be the same nano-texture glass option that is available for the iMac, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro.
- Dynamic Island changes: It has been rumored that all iPhone 17 models will have a redesigned Dynamic Island interface — it might also be smaller.
- Rectangular camera bump: iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to have a large rectangular camera bump with rounded corners. Apple apparently plans to stick with a triangular arrangement for the rear camera lenses.
- Orange/Copper finish: A new copper-like color option is expected for the iPhone 17 Pro models, along with Dark Blue.
- Longer battery life: The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to have a slightly thicker design that allows for a larger battery. The iPhone 17 Pro Max will apparently surpass the 5,000 mAh battery capacity mark.
- A19 Pro chip: iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to use Apple's next-generation A19 Pro chip, which will reportedly be manufactured with TSMC's newer third-generation 3nm process. Like usual, expect modest year-over-year performance gains and power efficiency improvements compared to the current iPhones.
- 12GB of RAM: iPhone 17 Pro models, and even the iPhone 17 Air, are rumored to have 12GB of RAM. This upgrade should help to improve the performance of Apple Intelligence and multitasking. All four iPhone 16 models have 8GB of RAM.
- 25W wireless charging: iPhone 17 Pro models will likely support up to 25W wireless charging speeds with a wide variety of Qi 2.2 chargers. On the iPhone 16 models, 25W can only be achieved with Apple's latest MagSafe Charger.
- Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip: All four iPhone 17 models are rumored to get a Wi-Fi 7 chip designed by Apple rather than Broadcom.
- 24-megapixel front camera: All four iPhone 17 models are said to feature an upgraded 24-megapixel front-facing camera, whereas all iPhone 16 models are equipped with a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.
- 48-megapixel rear Telephoto camera: An upgraded 48-megapixel Telephoto camera is rumored for the iPhone 17 Pro models, up from the 12-megapixel Telephoto camera on iPhone 16 Pro models.
- Dual video recording: According to Jon Prosser, of the YouTube channel Front Page Tech, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will allow users to record video with the front and rear cameras simultaneously in the Camera app.
- 8K video recording: Apple allegedly tested 8K video recording on the iPhone 16 Pro models, but such functionality is still not available. With the iPhone 17 Pro models expected to have entirely 48-megapixel rear cameras, perhaps 8K video recording will debut on those devices.
- Vapor chamber cooling: All four iPhone 17 models are rumored to feature internal design changes that result in better heat dissipation. A vapor chamber cooling system has been rumored for the Pro models specifically.
- Apple logo repositioned: Apple's logo may have a lower position on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro models, compared to previous models, and the layout of the MagSafe magnets may change as a result.

I feel it's representative of what the iPhone user base can generally look forward to. The current trend is that users are holding on to their phones longer, and no longer upgrading as frequently. Apple is arguably more inured against this trend because they have multiple ways of making money from their user base (an argument can be made that Apple is actually under-monetising its customers). For example, they get to make money from app sales, subscriptions, and accessories (something Android OEMs don't get to benefit from). You’re talking about buying a phone that’s two years newer.
I would certainly hope it’s “better”.
I’m not sure what you’re trying to convey by listing out “everything is better”…
😂
It would actually be a little weird if you had bullet points that were things that were not better or for some reason worse!
Perhaps iOS itself will fall into that category, however.
😬
I read somewhere, maybe here, that it might have something to do with the vapor chamber? I definitely think the change was necessary to accommodate some new component(s).That backplate kind of design is just odd… but knowing Apple it’ll probably look great anyway.
I don’t understand why some people are so worked up over Apple dropping titanium. Did you really expect Apple to be chained to the use of titanium in their phones forever? Yeah, maybe Apple made the mistake of promoting the titanium in some of their ads too heavily, but Apple sometimes does that. We see how well their AI advertising campaign worked out last year. Even with titanium, the 16 Pro was pushing close to 200g. My stainless steel 14 Pro is 206g for reference. Apple had to turn to something lighter like aluminum with the addition of an extra component like the vapor chamber and who knows what else being added to the 17 Pro/17 Pro Max.Seriously is a joke downgrade from titanium to aluminium.
better with titanium, much better with aluminumhow’s the weight? my 14PM is heavy
In? Thinness? Anti-bend? Or crease free folding phone? And Apple will continue to lead the industry.
Seems like so. New colour has been a feature for quite a while iirc. Same for long battery life. As for aluminium frame well, light weight is a feature so there’s that.Aluminium Frame
Colour
Battery Life
Logo Position are now features?
Is iPad Air the top model for iPads? Will you pay the same price or more for a downgraded product?Perhaps making space at the top for the 2026 premium Air and Fold models with titanium. The Air may move above the Pro next year with some additional features.
I don’t see touch ID. So Apple fails again. I wish to see you with the man touch ID on all of their phones. It’s time for Apple to listen to their customers.

Nah, they look like garbage with a great big security hole, Android. So very ugly and not at all inspiring. Next. I cannot believe this...but Android phones are now starting to look tempting !!!
Nope. The closest to variable focal telephoto is the latest Huawei Pura 80 with a dual telephoto camera.No. The rumour is 3.5X (native 48 MP) and 7X (48 MP cropped to 12 MP). Neither are digital interpolation.
According to Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a new Telephoto lens with a 48MP sensor, up from the current 12MP sensor found in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. This rumor isn't new – in fact it's been repeatedly claimed by several other sources. However, Bu goes further by claiming that the new lens will offer 3.5x optical zoom (85mm equivalent) instead of the 5x zoom (120mm equivalent) currently available.![]()
iPhone 17 Pro: New 48MP Telephoto Lens May Change How Zoom Works
Apple is reportedly planning a major upgrade to the Telephoto camera in the iPhone 17 Pro, and while it may seem like a step back on paper, the...www.macrumors.com
This focal length is generally better suited for portraits and everyday photography, since it allows users to frame shots without having to move as far away from the subject. However, the big shift allegedly comes from the new 48MP sensor, in that the extra resolution allows for digital cropping to simulate longer focal lengths, offering less quality loss than normal digital zoom.
This is similar to what Apple already does with the main Fusion camera on the iPhone 16, where the 48MP sensor enables a 2x digital crop – marketed as "Telephoto" – that still produces a 12MP image with minimal quality loss.

The telephoto lens of the iPhone 17 Pro is the heart of this revolution. Here’s what makes it special:
– Versatile focal length: It shifts from 120 mm (5x optical zoom) to 85 mm (3.5x), perfect for portraits and everyday shots.
– 48-megapixel sensor: Compared to the previous 12-megapixel sensors, it offers optical zoom up to 7x (160 mm) with top-quality images.
All Androids are years behind Apple. They are junk running Java as their interface. Because of a slop that is Android, there is just too many flaws to consider Android as a serious productivity system. What a mediocre pseudo-update. Even from 14 to 17 seems mediocre update. Just bump the RAM, new CPU that does not give longer battery life life, no super fast charging, still!, every good Android charges in less than half of an IPhone.
Super heavy. Dual ca,era recording limited to only the top iPhone is planed obsolescence as Androids can do it since forever now. So it is not dependent on the CPU not being capable, or Androids from 4 years ago have better CPU's than iPhone 14, 15, 16?.I wish Huawei could still be in America to show some innovation to Apple.
And that's way the investors want Tim out. He is conforming iPhones into BlackBerry.
What is the difference beyond the obvious?Seriously is a joke downgrade from titanium to aluminium.
Will you pay the same price if it's aluminium instead of titanium??What is the difference beyond the obvious?
Nobody wants Touch
This is not true.Nobody wants Touch ID.
