I've been using iPhones since the 3GS, and honestly, the last time an iPhone felt truly innovative to me was the iPhone 7. Since then, it seems like developers have been more innovative than Apple itself. But that's just me. Maybe you have found something innovative around your workflow.

Off the top of my head...

For me (a photographer)... Much better cameras and options. Being able to shoot in Pro RAW providing much better post-processing dynamic range and detail in Lightroom is killer. And recently... easily finding specific photos out of the 28,000+ images I have on my phone. For example search for "red cars with dogs and bicycles" or "beaches and surfers," "women with hats," etc. Also... the Photos app on my iPhone works great for remote post-processing when I don't have a computer/laptop handy.

Also... collision and crash detection with emergency messages automatically sent to responders via messages. Many lives have been saved via that feature. Being able to send a message via satellite if my car breaks down, or I run out of gas in the middle of the Mojave desert or Joshua Tree National Park where there's no cellular service. Fall detection alerting emergency services is also nice.

Edit:

Also... the Fitness app on my iPhone keeps track of my treks I take everyday accumulating loads of data (heart rate over time, calories, distance, workout time, elevation, a route map, etc...) from my Watch. I like that a lot.

Apple's iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max should launch in late September, and there are plenty of rumors about the devices.

You’re talking about buying a phone that’s two years newer.

I would certainly hope it’s “better”.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to convey by listing out “everything is better”…
😂

It would actually be a little weird if you had bullet points that were things that were not better or for some reason worse!

Perhaps iOS itself will fall into that category, however.
😬
I feel it's representative of what the iPhone user base can generally look forward to. The current trend is that users are holding on to their phones longer, and no longer upgrading as frequently. Apple is arguably more inured against this trend because they have multiple ways of making money from their user base (an argument can be made that Apple is actually under-monetising its customers). For example, they get to make money from app sales, subscriptions, and accessories (something Android OEMs don't get to benefit from).

As such, while people like to criticise the iPhone for not seeming like that much of an improvement over the previous year's model, all these increments do add up over time, and can result in pretty significant changes for say, someone like myself who is still on a 13 pro max and would have 4 years' worth of new features to look forward to if I do decide to upgrade this year.

Even if I don't, well, I am still an iPhone user, and will still continue to generate revenue for Apple in my own little way. In a sense, Apple's real product is not the iPhone or any other piece of hardware, but the entire ecosystem itself. My 4-year old iPhone is still the lynchpin that holds all my other apple products together, it still gets software updates, and I feel like this is one aspect of Apple which doesn't get sufficient recognition.

Is back(camera arrangement) of iPhone 17 Pro looks like a picture in this article or it is a artist's rendering, some imagination ?

Seriously is a joke downgrade from titanium to aluminium.
I don’t understand why some people are so worked up over Apple dropping titanium. Did you really expect Apple to be chained to the use of titanium in their phones forever? Yeah, maybe Apple made the mistake of promoting the titanium in some of their ads too heavily, but Apple sometimes does that. We see how well their AI advertising campaign worked out last year. Even with titanium, the 16 Pro was pushing close to 200g. My stainless steel 14 Pro is 206g for reference. Apple had to turn to something lighter like aluminum with the addition of an extra component like the vapor chamber and who knows what else being added to the 17 Pro/17 Pro Max.

Aluminium Frame
Colour
Battery Life
Logo Position are now features?
Seems like so. New colour has been a feature for quite a while iirc. Same for long battery life. As for aluminium frame well, light weight is a feature so there’s that.

I don’t see touch ID. So Apple fails again. I wish to see you with the man touch ID on all of their phones. It’s time for Apple to listen to their customers.

What a mediocre pseudo-update. Even from 14 to 17 seems mediocre update. Just bump the RAM, new CPU that does not give longer battery life life, no super fast charging, still!, every good Android charges in less than half of an IPhone.
Super heavy. Dual ca,era recording limited to only the top iPhone is planed obsolescence as Androids can do it since forever now. So it is not dependent on the CPU not being capable, or Androids from 4 years ago have better CPU's than iPhone 14, 15, 16?.I wish Huawei could still be in America to show some innovation to Apple.
And that's way the investors want Tim out. He is conforming iPhones into BlackBerry.

No. The rumour is 3.5X (native 48 MP) and 7X (48 MP cropped to 12 MP). Neither are digital interpolation.

According to Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a new Telephoto lens with a 48MP sensor, up from the current 12MP sensor found in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. This rumor isn't new – in fact it's been repeatedly claimed by several other sources. However, Bu goes further by claiming that the new lens will offer 3.5x optical zoom (85mm equivalent) instead of the 5x zoom (120mm equivalent) currently available.

This focal length is generally better suited for portraits and everyday photography, since it allows users to frame shots without having to move as far away from the subject. However, the big shift allegedly comes from the new 48MP sensor, in that the extra resolution allows for digital cropping to simulate longer focal lengths, offering less quality loss than normal digital zoom.

This is similar to what Apple already does with the main Fusion camera on the iPhone 16, where the 48MP sensor enables a 2x digital crop – marketed as "Telephoto" – that still produces a 12MP image with minimal quality loss.

Telephoto Lens: New Optical Zoom
The telephoto lens of the iPhone 17 Pro is the heart of this revolution. Here’s what makes it special:
– Versatile focal length: It shifts from 120 mm (5x optical zoom) to 85 mm (3.5x), perfect for portraits and everyday shots.
– 48-megapixel sensor: Compared to the previous 12-megapixel sensors, it offers optical zoom up to 7x (160 mm) with top-quality images.
Nope. The closest to variable focal telephoto is the latest Huawei Pura 80 with a dual telephoto camera.
iPhone sadly is not very advanced or innovative, just put standard lens and sensor and customize in software. Not own camera designs since 10 years ago.

All Androids are years behind Apple. They are junk running Java as their interface. Because of a slop that is Android, there is just too many flaws to consider Android as a serious productivity system.

I really hope the anti reflective display is the same thing as the S25 Ultra and NOT the nano texture matte finish. Nanotexture just makes text look blurry and adds a bunch of grain to the display. Please please please no nano texture.
