Apple can only re-use Jony Ive his work, but as soon as they have to design something themselves .....

Is the rendered photo real or not?

It is Sooooo ugly?

Why putting the camera eye on a big panel?

Used to think the circular camera panel as a signature of Huawei photo is exceptional disgusting.

Why Apple follow Huawei ‘s approach more aggressively?

Ok, I’ve got it figured out. If this is the correct design, anyway.

The telephoto camera is the rightmost lens on the rear. If the bump extends to the right, then it’s like to make room for a periscope lens inside the camera body. Perhaps going up to 10x, with the new 48mp sensor.

This could allow for a more smooth and consistent resolution of 48mp at least through 5x, with 10x perhaps being 12mp, or maybe with a periscope they could even do 10x through 48mp.

This explains the giant bump, anyway, as you would need to stack various lenses inside the casing in this way to avoid the battery below, but still allow for a larger sensor that is still decent in lower light to protrude beyond the casing. So if this design is legit, my money is on that being the reason.

Do these people actually take a step back and look at these terrible renders before they post them? I doubt Apple would do something this ugly.
I remember people saying roughly the same thing about when the iPhone 6’s protruding camera leaked and every consequent iPhone with camera bump rumor after that. They all turned to be true.

I think that looks much nicer than the thin strip on other renders. I think the thin strip looks cheap and just plain wrong.

They will have to make it look different from the 16 Pro and 15 Pro. Is this it??? I don’t think so.
