So today has been iPad Air and iPhone SE updates. Is tomorrow the MacBooks, what does that leave for Wednesday? Homepod updates maybe an Apple TV update.
Tomorrow will likely be the iPad 11 and the M5 MacBook Air, the other products that aren’t really “new” in any specific way.
Leaving Wednesday for the actual “new” products, M5Pro and Max MBPs (chips that have never been used before) and MacBook “SE?” (new product not currently in the lineup).
I think HomePods and Apple TVs are probably still MIA until new Siri actually gets released in some form, seeing as that’s the headline feature.

Apple didn't have much choice, the $129 phone I bought last summer has 128 GB of storage.

Edit, I went and looked it up, my phone also has a 120 Hz display. I never noticed. Clearly an overhyped feature. I also have an SD card slot. There are multiple cameras on it too not that I've ever used them. It's supposedly 5G but I'll never know, there is no real 5G out here in the sticks, it's rebadged 4G on the same old frequencies and for good reason give the short range of real 5G.

Where my phone is lacking compared to Apple's is the 4 GB of RAM.

yeah, my parents are 64 and 70 years old, currently using iPhone SE second gen and are due to an upgrade, i can't personally pay 1200$ pre tax, and they don't like android.
Lucky. Your parents are willing to upgrade, are not stubborn, wanting to stay with his iPhone 8 that he doesn’t want to even update the phone, let alone upgrade, because it’s most similar to his iPhone 7 stolen last year (and refused to do his Apple ID to find the phone). 😑

Still no Dynamic Island?
A $600 phone can't get a 4 year old software update for better widgets?
Is there any reason but "other people must understand you can't afford a pricier phone"?
(don't be fooled: they shaped it like the new hole but it's just a software update that could run on an iPhone 6. It's Apple's planned obsolescence at its worse)

To put that $599 price in perspective: for several months now, you can get an instant $400 off an iPhone Air (+trade-in value) with trade-in of an old phone thru Spectrum Mobile. That puts the base price at $599. Subtract another extra $50-75 if you send them an iPhone 12/13 mini, and the cash price ends up around $550+tax.

Good point. I've also seen a lot of iPhone Air's on my local FB Marketplace for $600-700 if one prefers that route.

Lots of great options to score a great phone for a great price.

This device has to be a carrier's wet dream to get people to lock into two years of a plan. Trade in ANY phone and you can get the 17e, with credits over 24-36 months. THAT I can definitely see happening. Otherwise? I would respectfully pass, unless I just wanted an upgraded iPod Touch with the potential capability of cellular service (but really, also not a bad thing).

Apple's just-announced iPhone 17e comes with doubled base storage compared to last year's predecessor while remaining at a $599 starting price.

The iPhone 17e now comes with 256GB base storage, up from 128GB in the iPhone 16e. The change is especially notable, given the surge in price of DDR memory in recent months owing to the AI server build-out.

The more affordable iPhone in Apple's lineup also now comes with MagSafe and Qi2 for fast wireless charging up to 15W, compared to 7.5W Qi wireless charging on iPhone 16e. The addition means MagSafe chargers, stands, cases, wallets, and camera accessories snap easily to the back of iPhone 17e, providing seamless alignment.

The iPhone 17e will be available for pre-order beginning Wednesday, March 4, with availability starting Wednesday, March 11.

Last year I thought Apple did well. This year it looks a little lazy. It still has a better processor than the Pixel 10a but for $100 less Google still managed to cram in a 0.5x lens with macro, flush cameras, USB 3.0 (capable of recording straight to an external SSD in 4K RAW like the Pro iPhones.....), video-out, 120hz, punch-hole camera and a 5000mah battery.
But you would have to pay me more than $100 to use Android.

Will be a good phone to buy preowned off someone who took a bath on it ... just make sure it's unlocked by the carrier if buying one.

Ditto. A few months ago I upgraded my parents from SE to 16 Pro Max. Verizon had a good promotion where both phones were free as long as we stay for another 3 years. No problem, I've been with Verizon for over 10 years and basically upgrade my parents phones for free every 3 years.
