These devices look good. I think comments about competition or driving mobile design forward are pretty funny. every flagship phone for the better part of a decade has mostly looked the same as every other (other than foldables - and apple has one coming). Anything that any company does that is successful, every other company will also do within a few years (maybe a bit more with apple for things like foldables).

These devices will continue to get better, but we won't see the bigger changes that we saw 15-20 years ago. And there's nothing wrong with that. Change and evolution is in different spaces now.

I’ll stick with apple. We’re basically married.
I intentionally avoid this is in our household. We are Apple phones and tablets currently and have been for 4 years and happy, but headphones, watches, etc are ALWAYS neutral brand like Bose, Sony, Garmin, Fitbit etc. if Apple starts falling behind more than they are currently already on keys features like virtual assistant, and price vs quality ratio, then we will move. No Apple “ecosystem handcuffs” locking here, and never will be.

folding phones make barely any sense.

folding tablets however...that I can see.

What on earth is the difference between a folding 8" tablet that folds down to a 6.4" phone, and a folding 6.4" phone that opens to an 8" tablet?

Or do you want a folding 14" tablet that folds down to an 8" tablet, both of which still need to be put in a bag?

It’s called generative AI. The clue is in the name. It is not recovering and refining anything.

I find this so misleading. The reason I would want to have a 100x zoom is to see fine details, but this generative AI is just making things up. At that point, I might as well just ask for a painting.
Digital photography has a high level of making things up anyway. Even an iPhone processor processes the pictures taken by the camera so much there is so much that has very little to do with the light that actually hit each individual pixels.

They do to some. For example I’d like a pro max that folds in half to fit in my pocket.

As usual and unfortunately for me Apple seem very slow keeping up with new tech these days, which is weird for a tech company 🤭

This new Pixel Fold just doesn't have the price incentives that Samsung has so if I were going for one of these I'd pick the Z Fold for sure.

In europe they are already 200-250€ off thanks to trade in.

i hate they start from 128gb, i wanted a 256gb without paying a kidney

Yup, they even added a Journal app...wonder where they got that idea from.
From the hundreds of Journal apps that available on both platforms? There is nothing each manufacture is adding that hundreds of other developers didn't already create. Unless you want to claim that Apple was the first to release a Journaling app on the iPhone.

For those of you thinking "I have a great idea! I'm gonna make some stick on finger grips for this so I can use it like a puppet!"

Too late -I applied for a patent and will start selling these next year.

I have an iPhone Pro Max and a Fold 9.

As a Fold 9 user...Apple needs to step up their game. I multi-task like a mad man on it.

As someone that had a Fold 7...Apple needs to panic.

Both phones have excellent AI, great phones and fantastic screens. Heck, Apple Music is better on Android. I get better codecs for high res music. The only thing that is keeping me there is Atmos support, but my XM6 is miles lighter than my AirPods Max. It's just the automatic syncing that is holding me to the system...but I've gone back to wires and it's starting to lose its grasp.

A 27" screen that folds down to a 16" form factor that fits in my backpack. Makes a world of difference compared to a compact stupid phone that unfolds to a 7" phone. Congrats, you've added an extra step and a extra $1k to make a display marginally better.

RCS has changed the equation on this so nicely for me when interacting with green bubble friends.

I intentionally turn off RCS to piss off my android friends. Super hilarious when they share a low quality image and then complain. I'm just like "it's not my fault people don't want an iPhone".

RCS is super dumb anyways. Parents have so many issues getting RCS to work. I'm not spending hours of my life trying to troubleshoot Google's whiney tactics so I just turn it off for them. Problem solved.

Vastly superior than iPhones currently I have to say. My colleague pixel 9 suns circles around my emoji generator 16 pro.

I’m just deep into the ecosystem with HomeKit devices and all, but I’m so ready to jump ship and get real software….
