So much for that whole "You have to pay for the business package to use the Exchange services" thing ;) I kinda had a hunch that it would work anyway...

For MSN try meebo.com from your iPhone, it loads an impressive Webapp... better than a standalone msn app.
 
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but when is the 2.0 update supposed to be released? later today or tomorrow?

Yep. Go into applications listed in your library and double click one and punch in your password. Sync after that. Worked for me.

This might make sense if 2.0 was soley for the 3G iPhone, but it's not. Software engineers are smart enough to write code to only call API's when the proper hardware exists.


Did anyone else notice Visual Voicemail is gone? Now I hit VM and it starts dialing.

For me is not working!! I just downloaded the PwnageTool 1.1 and is saying "Can't reconize version of .ipsw file."

Has any one else able to jailbreak with PwnageTool 1.1 ??

But the restarts coming after running apps would make sense if it was one of the social networking apps that use GPS locations as their base was being run on a non 3G iPhone.

um do you think there will be only one package for both old and new phones? either way i say go for it in any case, its the thrill thats fun. just back up.

Working Great! The first time I tried but I messed up because I restored instead of updating. After I stopped it I restored to 1.1.4 the UPGRADED. It works now.

using Windows XP & iTunes 7.7 and I think I bricked my iPhone...PLEASE HELP

getting the following error message after doing the Shift-Update and now after doing Shift-Restore:

The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600).
 
After getting the Unknown Error (5) a number of times, I rebooted my machine and phone (seeing that this worked for someone else with the same symptoms) and OMG it works!
 
I installed it hoping to see if it would work with Fido in Canada.

Just asks for activation so that doesn't work but here are the steps I tool and the problem I encountered.

1.Tried to install 2.0 using itunes 7.6.2 - didn't work
2.Installed itunes 7.7
3.Installed 2.0 no problem
4.Not able to activate
5.Tried to restore back to 1.1.4 - got error code 20?
6.reinstalled itunes 7.6.2
7.Tried to restore to 1.1.4 -got an error
8. Reinstalled itunes 7.7
9. Tried to restore 1.1.3 - Error
10. Restored to 2.0

I can ONLY restore it to 2.0 now...I can't restore to ANY other versions... :(

Any ideas?
 
Anyone have contacts or calender info with push enabled? All mine are blank unless I turn off push and sync via itunes.
 
I installed this update to my iPhone this morning and it has been working great, but for some reason, the update added the app "Contacts" to my iPhone. That usually is only for the iPod Touch (because of the lack of Phone capabilities).

Is this normal?

Just FYI, you can download Syphone to back up your text messages to PDF or TXT files. It's freeware and in Beta right now. Took a little while to get it going but eventually it worked.

Also, I just did a restore from a jailbroken 1.1.4 last night to 1.1.4 in anticipation of 2.0. My Mail app refused to open after that. I had to do another restore and before applying all my settings, I disconnected the iPhone and opened the Mail app before restoring all of my settings back onto it. Throughout all this, my settings (SMS, photos, favorites, even cookies) were still on my iPhone. Of course my music and movies need to be reloaded, but that's easy.
 
I'm flummoxed.

I've downloaded the .ipsw file, it is on my desktop (vista).

When I open Itunes and click upgrade it tells me 1.1.4 is the most current.

When I click on the nice looking cube .ipsw file, it simply opens itunes and does nothing else. I've seen people talking about shift+click, but this does nothing for me, i hold down shift and click on the upgrade button and nothing happens until I release both and the same 1.1.4 most current message pops up.

What the hell do I do?
