I updated from 1.1.4 ZiPhone and now iTunes is asking me to activate again. How can I sign up the same iPhone that was working on AT&T just this morning.

Just sign in with your iTunes account name and password - from what I've read this works and bypasses any activation process.

Mine is at "Verifying Iphone software" it's been there a few minutes and the iphone screen itself changed from the apple logo with the circle at the bottom to the connect to itunes screen. I'm using windows XP BTW.

Yeah 'told you so' isn't necessary -- it probably wasn't the ideal thing to do but as far as I've seen it doesn't brick or damage the phone.

Update: Now the screen of my Iphone shut off and itunes keeps saying "veryfing iphone software". Is it supposed to do that?

Firmware 2.0

After reading all these posts I am in two minds about updating my iPhone before the official one come out, although logic tells me it would work great!!!

I just miss all my apps and games I had on it when it was Jailbroken.. :(

I'm still having a real problem with lag. There is always a lag between opening programs, flicking, scrolling, typing, you name it. Some times its barely noticable, other times there is a 2-3 second delay.

This sucks. Anyone else noticing this?

Still waiting on the guy who said he went from 2.0 to 1.1.4 to share this 'link' :)

Every time I try to install the update I get "An Unknown eror occurred (1403)"

WTF?! Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas? I want some new apps!

I had 1.1.4 Jailbroken (ZiPhone), then I restored it via ZiPhone then I restored it again to 1.1.4 via iTunes 7.7 in prep for 2.0

Update, I may have mis read your post also.. LOL :)

Just some help for those people who might be running into problems with trying to setup their Exchange server and before you blow up at your iPhone and try to throw it access the room ;).

Couple things to check first:
1) Do you have a fully functional Exchange server. A lot of companies use exchange, thus your going to want to check with your IT about this, if they have no clue then there a good chance you don't have an exchange server and you'll be out of luck.
2) IT = your friend. They should be able to tell you if your account is able to use mobile devices and give you all the information to connect to the exchange server, they are your first line of help when getting your iPhone hooked up and on the road to blissful Exchange support.
3) If all else fails, and you don't have an exchange server you can always use MobileMe for personal stuff works just like the idea of Exchange, just cost you a one time\year fee (if I remember right, look into it more @ Apple).

So lets say you got an Exchange server:
You need to follow the iPhone 2.0 setup instructions on screen, please keep in mind with the username needs to be in the follow format:
CompanyDomain\yourusername
I.E. Koabd\evillinux
Also your exchange needs to be on a Public IP, that can be hit by the iPhone, or be a domain that is pointed to a public IP, if you don't do this you won't be able to use exchange support....

Check with your IT, that your computer login\exchange account has permission to use Mobile Device to connect, if it doesn't IT WILL FAIL!

Once again your local IT = best help you can get when setting up iPhone with Exchange support, you're welcome to PM me if you got questions or need help.

Anywho iPhone 2.0 rocks for Exchange support on Edge its extremely quick and great instant push.

Good information for those that do not know, but as always want to use the function.

I have the same problem

I'm in this situation too. I get error 20. iPhone that won't get out of DFU mode too. I'm screwed.

I have the same problem... error (20) if I hold shift+click on 'check for updates' (now greyed out) or I get error (13) if I hold shift+click on 'restore'

don't think that redownloading the .ipsw file will help because I can't 'check for updates' anymore.

I had no problems updating an un-hacked 1.1.4 > 2.0.

It did take forever and I did have to resync my media, but all went well (~40 minutes).

I have push email coming from me.com as well as pushed calendar and contacts.

The only place I have a delayed response to touch is contacts. That is EXTREMELY annoying. So much that it is almost unusable. The slowness could be attributed to the 650+ contacts I have in the database. Not that I know that many people, but .mac never let me actually delete a contact out of the cloud copy of the dbase. Hopefully .me will let me fix this.

No other applications have the stutter or delayed response to touch.

It's not just one thing is to blame. New iTunes, New iPhone firmware, and a bunch of programs that we have never heard of. Give it time people....

Every time now that I sync iTunes does this annoying "Backing up myPhone," (yes my iPhone's name is "myPhone") anyone else got this going on?

iPhone 2.0 update

The 2.0 update installed perfectly fine and is currently restoring my info from my backup. I'm way excited!! I'm so glad I have an iPhone. Best investment ever!!

Mine was like this at first; I think it was because MobileMe and my iPhone were syncing up. Now it's very smooth.
