This update fixed my 3g signal dramatically, Netshare works a treat and i'm typing this message with it. WOOT.

When my iphone restarted I didn't have to restore from backup. Did this happen for everyone?

Everything was there- nothing missing at all. It almost was an archive and install as opposed to a fresh install. Strange? Or normal?

Because you updated not restored i'd imagine. Same thing happened to me

Inconsistent mobileme sync may disappear ?

Do you think iPhone 2.1 update may fix the inconsistent data error message with MobileMe ?

This looks new to me (showing how much memory Apps are taking up)

I'm 80% done downloading the update now. The UK Apple site still says "2.0.2 Is ready". Lol

Edit:
Yes, the Apps notification in the content bar is new.
My audio/video ratio is basically the exact opposite of yours. (just thought I'd mention it). :D

I used to have 3 bars of 3G, and now it's showing 5 bars of 3G.

CONTACTS LAG IS GONE !!!!!!! :D Keyboard Lag is GONE! :D
IT'S SNAPPIER!!!!

From start to finish (I only had 2.0.0 on mine), it took about 12 minutes total. That included "setup" since I had never synced my phone with a computer before (6 weeks).

The "3G" logo is different.

3G now 5 solid bars at home, when it was 2 or 1 before. Also, contacts and the entire phone is much, much faster. Even when I did restores before and it speeded up for a time it was never this fast.

Mine was fast. Downloaded firmware 2.1 and it installed into my phone.

Didn't have to wait for any backup to be done. The iTunes just install the new firmware and didn't backup anything.

So far so good. Very happy :)

Here are a couple of my changes. I really think the first 4 are due to the phone being restarted.

1. Contacts seem less laggy.
2. Tying is less laggy.
3. Safari seems to launch faster.
4. Haven't had any apps crash yet, then again its only been 10minutes.
5. New Icons.
6. I still am NOT getting 3G at my mom's house.
7. Oh and double vibrate on text....woo....hoo.....

The difference is pretty amazing. Everything seems to work silky smooth now. Well done Apple.

Same here. Took me about 12min from plugging in to unplugging.

weird problem, i had my phone jailbroken and decided to go back to being legit with this f.w. update. one of the programs i had installed was make it mine. i changed the att logo to the word "blurg". after updating, it is still there. the att logo did not come back, that doesnt seem right?

installed 2.1 update using iTunes 7.7.0.43

I didn't have permissions to upgrade to 8 on my work computer, but I did have 7.7. I was able to run the update using 'shift - update' and manually selecting the file. One note after the update I am unable to use the phone with iTunes anymore (just have to wait till I get home).

oh...and it wiped one of the iTunes rentals I had. Crap now no movie for the plane ride home.

Really glad to see repeated SMS notifications. Now just extend it to missed calls & voicemails, and give us the option to repeat the notification until the message is picked up (not just twice)
