It does not, which sucks, but that's not Apple's fault- It's the MBTA's fault.

Here is the link to google's list of what public transportation systems are covered by their system. (international too)

http://maps.google.com/transit

As you can see, Boston is missing.

They do have:
* Cape Cod, MA (Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority)
* Lexington, MA (Lexpress)
* Framingham, MA (MetroWest Regional Transit Authority)
* Pioneer Valley, MA (PVTA)

What really annoys me is that the opt-in is free, yet they still haven't done this.

I say we start calling them now!

I'm going to.

I work a lot of 6pm to 6am night shifts and now these type of events are easier to spot on the updated calendar.

Look at the image below, You can see that it says end above it to show that this is the end of an event that goes past midnight !

Very handy to me anyway !!!

It did that prior to this update.

Yah, I didn't think it was Apple's fault. I'll fill out the customer form on the MBTA site.

Thanks.

God I hate apple some times, if they have to charge for it than so be it. Even though I think this whole thing is silly, but don't leave us out in the cold.

yeah, it's kinda lame... but to be honest, how often do we use street view? at least we still also have the ability to turn off auto correction, which in my view is MORE than enough reason to celebrate this update.

still no copy/paste is unbelievable...

I don't care for street view, i'm more interested in the transportation directions.

I have a question. The iPod Touch didn't get these new features because Apple would have to charge $$$ for these new features. Apple has to charge $$$ for them because of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. I understand the act is to help prevent scandals/fraud like Enron. But can someone explain in layman's terms why the act makes Apple to charge for new features? People/companies that make open sourced programs don't have to charge for new features. I'm no lawyer or businessman so I don't know.

woo hoo!
The email fix is bloomin' fantastic!
That's worth so much to me. Every day I receive 10-20 emails generated by my e-commerce site which are a nightmare to read. I just updated to 2.2, and they are now fantastically laid out and easy to read. Yes, it should have been this way to begin with but I'm just so happy this is now fixed.

Finally my phone is functional again. Went to charge my phone last night and noticed the update, finally after 4 restores its back to the world of the living. Apple really needs to fix this garbage.

Surprisingly?

We knew it 10 days ago (!!) from iPhoneHellas.gr

link: iPhone OS v2.2 to be released on 21 November!

Really? Kind of a petty post, don't you think?

It was a surprising release because usually Apple releases their iPhone firmware in the morning or during the day that was rumored (ie nov 21st at 9am PST). It wasn't the 21st in California- it was still the 20th, this is why it was a surprising time for them to release it.

So based on that, you guys were actually wrong...... :)

Problem with Prius Bluetooth after update

The bluetooth in my Prius that worked flawlessly prior to the update, now connects, but there is no sound thru the audio, or the microphone. Just dead air. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm in love

Finally, podcasts over the air! That's 90% of what I listen to on the iPhone, and I would NEVER plug it in to my computer if I didn't have to get the podcasts. So that, I love.

Here's a question - why can't I click a link in the notes of a calendar item? I do a lot of evite events, and I love the fact that I can have them go onto outlook directly. But why can't I then go into the calendar on the iPhone, open that event, and click the link to go back to the page? Seems like an easy thing....

No public transit directions in West Los Angeles. Anyone else confirm this?

I guess it's because everyone drives in LA.......

I lived in LA off and on for a couple years and never knew there was a subway there. LOL

Have had no issues with GPS yesterday. After update to 2.2, Google maps and Instamapper can't get any location. I have restarted several times and toggled both location services and airplane mode. Anyone else having GPS issues?

I had the exact opposite experience. GPS was broke and now it is fixed with 2.2 that's odd.

I'm not a lawyer, either, but here's my understanding.

Sarbanes-Oxley seems to have had many unintended consequences, and is generally a poorly thought-out and poorly word law. One thing it tried to do was to prevent companies from booking profits before it actually earned them. Much of Enron's "profits" were "earned" before they actually received the profits. For example, they would sell an contract that could earn them $100 million over 10 years, then list that $100 million as earning in the quarter they sold the contract. This caused problems because sometimes they wouldn't actually get all the money from the contract, and then they would have a claim a loss on the portion they didn't receive. This wouldn't have been a major problem, except that they used various shell corporations to create profits based on contracts that were essentially to themselves. Whenever they got a loss, they would keep making "profits" by selling more contracts to themselves. (This is an oversimplification but generally enough to get the idea.)

Skip forward to Sarbanes. The law wanted to prevent companies from claiming a profit before they had finished performing the contract, in this case the contract to provide you with a fully functioning iPod Touch. Through bad wording, the law is interpreted by some to say that a company cannot add features to an existing product without distributing profits over time because that would be claiming profits before the contract was finished. Not everyone agrees with this interpretation of this horrible law, but Apple is sued so often that I expect it wants to err on the side of caution.
