This was a 2.0 feature.

I don't think so, but maybe I'm wrong. Before I had to completely shut off airplane mode to get to the web. It prompted you to the settings tab, but that was to shut off airplane mode. Maybe the feature was there, but they have definitely changed the language.

Equating jailbraking with 'owning' your phone is bizarre. Maybe Obama will fix this right after he fixes the college football playoff system, you know the important things. I am sure there is someone from the Clinton administration who can handle it.

can you be less logical? And how does one inform the other?

How do you get the street view? I must be an idiot because I cant figure it out.

nah ur not an idiot matey, i couldnt figure it out for ages
just drop a pin wherever, then tap on the pin to bring up a small pop speech bubble type thing above it. if street view is available, there will be a red icon to the left of the text. viewing uk streets is not available however as ive found, only in america cos google are *******s. grr.
just search new york, and ur see the red icon :]

Yea it's always been there. I'm not sure about 2.0 but in 2.1, when you turn on the airplane mode, it will shut everything off initially but you can turn on the wifi manually, and the airplane mode will still be on.
I think the new thing is the pop up message asking you to turn on wifi.

Unless you're using the headphones, this was always the case. It will hang up on your call if you lock the screen without using the earphones.

My phone never did this before. I normally use a bluetooth, but even with just the speaker phone on, I never dropped the call when I turned off the screen.

Dropping calls and turning off apps when you turn off the screen is very weird. Gotta be a glitch. I can't see any reason Apple would want to have a function like that.

When updating an application in the iPhone, if the application was downloaded/bought with another user, it shows a dialog to change the user and input the password. Before this update, it didn't even showed the update of that particular application if the account configured on the iPhone was different. In my case, I download apps with 2 accounts.

2.2 Update Brings Back The Update All Button On App Store

If you look in the App Store Then You'll See When You go to update the update all button has returned.

That is an excellent find! Thank you for that...

The tinypic image includes Photoshop work (bad silhouetting around hair, gradation overlay, fake background). Maybe you were referring to another image.

I was referring to the candid below the TinyPic image. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

I'll go through the last few pages and check for any more finds. :D

And for those who wanted my background image, here it is:

I use a bluetooth headset

Edit... confirmed... it hangs up every time... DAMNIT! I used to like locking it. I thought that was a feature!

I am an Apple Developer. I reported this as a bug.

It ends the call when you are just using the phone itself, if you have the headphones or a bluetooth headset connected it locks the phone. I just tested it and it appears to still do it the correct way, hangs up when using the phone and locks when using another headset. I'm using the included wired headset and my iPhone bluetooth headset.

But dont you think ti shouldn't hang up if your using the phone itself in SPEAKER mode?

Anyone else notice that the Brightness slider, now when slid all the way to the left, completely turns off the backlight of the phone?

no. not completely.

man jailbreak is great. u get backgrounder which is really really nice trust me, u get video recorder u can block the sms preview pop-up when ur in the menu (which is unacceptable!!!) games etc.. i mean come on.. apple can do that stuff but for some reason they decide to give us ''update all'' option in appstore and street view.. which of course are nice but not what we need! but u can do really many other things with a jailbroken iphone.

cant copy and paste, so i dont give a poop :)

I dont know if anyone has noticed but there is a abnormal spacing between "Search" and "More" on the youtube app?

There isn't. More is just a shorter word. They SHOULD have lines separating the buttons though, then it wouldn't look weird like it does.

I just noticed the garbage can is animated when you delete a picture.
Is this new? I'm a proud new owner so I'm not sure..
It's cool regardless.
Thanks :apple:

When the phone is set to vibrate applications are now silent.

Before the vibrate setting had no effect on the apps.

Very useful to me, b/c I go to college and often download new apps during class to try and get me through. I never know if they are going to make a loud sound or not. haha

I think 2.2 added a "vibrate off when silent" mode now.

This is key! Its nice to be able to keep the phone on in meetings (and occasionally take a look at the phone), and not worry about the vibrating making too much noise.

That's always been there; the trash can will open and 'suck' in the picture.

I've added about ten more undocumented features/fixes in the second post, check them out. ;) Thanks for all the contributions. Keep 'em coming!

I did notice but it's not what you think. It just looks bad because there are no lines to separate the buttons. This is the picture I submitted to Apple. Hopefully they see how much better it is. CLICK ON IT TO BLOW IT UP. What do you think?

Cool. Any chance the sound turning off on Easy Relax and White Noise when you turn off the screen is another bug you reported?

Just did it for you.

field test changed?

I've never had occasion to use the field test before today, but what I'm getting doesn't match any of the documentation I've found out there. Thinking it might be new for 2.2. Anyone who's familiar with this function, check it out.

Been available as long as I can remember. On original iPhone, I'm pretty sure.

Thanks Eddy.

But didn't this do that in 2.1.

Before my update this morning , wherever I was on the phone , a single click always took me back to the main home screen. 2 clicks took me to my favorites.

Regards James

Yup that's the message I'm getting.

If you try over 3G & not WiFi , you'll get a different message.

Regards James

It's back! It was here originally wasn't it? And then its gone. Thank goodness its back.

I had the same issue with the Apps store unable to connect after I updated the software today to 2.2. I tried the power recycle but no use. Attaching a screen shot. Anybody else facing the same problem after update?

This is Not an issue with the iphone or 2.2 software. My iphone was doing this in 2.1 and on my itunes account on os x. This is a problem with the App Store Servers. 2.2 Fixed it For me actually.

Therefore it was gone, and now its back...Yes, it always did it on the computer. The iPhone is not my computer.

Dang Britney is FUGLY, I just threw up a little in my mouth. Wish she'd just go away.

I've noticed scrolling on everything seems smoother, from the contacts which, granted the last update fixed things a bit, to Safari to even in the settings pane.

And yes, Safari does seem, how they say, snappier!
