It has always been like this.

No it didn't.

You're right. I was up for 24 hours when I wrote that. I meant that I'd reverts back to portrait mode if you laying down with your phone. Now, as long as for keep the home button upwards, I'd won't.

Lost WIFI

Since I updated to 2.2, I have not been able to connect to wifi. The carrier is shown but nothing will connect. Anyone else having this problem? 3G works just fine.

not sure if this was said...but two huge things that made me go to 2.2 is the fact that when you update your applications in the App Store you can do an UPDATE ALL option now...and it does not make a second install like it used to, and put it in the first open slot, it just reinstall basically, over where the app was, so you do not have to move them around anymore after updating!

Update-all was removed, then put back in 2.2.... this has been stated already.

Hey, sorry if this has been stated before or if it's an old feature but I've just noticed you can change your home screen without swiping across to the next, you can do it by tapping either left or right of the "dots" that indicate what screen your on.

Vcards now recognized in mail

Hi guys. I read through all 21 pages but didn't find this mentioned anywhere. If you receive a vcard in mail it now gets recognized correctly and the contact to address book. Also in mail when you get a zipped file mail seems to recognized the format if the file within the zipped file (if it is a format understood by mail) and shows you the correct icon. However I have not been able to successfully open such an attachment. Having trouble with that but the vcards work perfectly.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

I'm not sure if this has always been a feature of the iPhone or already been listed in this thread but I noticed today when I click the sleep and home button at the same time it takes a snap shot of my screen. Whether it's a game, email, or webpage. If this has already been posted then please remove and the rest of u save ur sacarsam.

I noticed this today while driving my car through a dead spot while downloading an application:

As it was downloading, I drove through a dead spot and lost service. The applications went from "Loading" to "Waiting..." I have never scene this before and recall before that if this were to happen prior to 2.2, the app would have to be redownloaded. It's a nice welcomed new feature!

Here's a screenshot:

iPod controls on locked screen

Hi guys,

I don't know if this is known and when it was put in the firmware but tonight i accidently pushed the home button twice on the unlock screen while playing music. A control screen apears to change volume and track. press the home button twice again takes it away.

ive got a new feature.....................
less crashes:D:D:D:D

What firmware are you running??

I dont understand. It seems like they always tell us that "stability/less crashing" will be fixed along with fewer dropped calls but it never seems to do anything for me. Granted some days are worse than others but still. I really wish apple would let firefox in the appstore so we could see if it is all mobile safari or not. Sometimes I just feel like throwing my phone and then I have to remeber I was one of the impatient ones that paid $500 dollars for mine. haha.

So, in a sense, I guess what I am really trying to say, I wish apple would give our phones an firmware comparible to 10.6: speed, stability, and no bloat. They just keep adding features and options when they still don't have all of the original bugs worked out.

Just my 2Cents for the night.

I'm not sure if this has been said but up until 2.2, autocorrection did not work when caps lock was on. That was really anoying for me, and im glad its here. =]

I haven't noticed this before. It seems to be only on the Apple webiste, but you can now tap to slide the product menu bar.

I'll post a picture as soon as I get home to my computer.

Hey guys, um a problem i encountered after upgrading to 2.2 software, there is 4gb of memory taken up in orange off nothing, therefore i cannot fit all my music and video's on? is this because of the size of 2.2 or another problem??
Cheers
