iPhone now ends call when I lock it

I usually lock the phone when I'm on a call, three times now it has ended the call. Anyone else experiencing this since the 2.2 update?

Thanks,
cpjakes

why lock it? you know there are proximity sensors that turn off your screen, right? or are you talking about having a BT headset?

Haven't tried it yet... but I do the same thing. I hope this isn't true!

I usually lock it when I'm in the car with BT because I'll leave it in my lap or on a seat. It's not the end of the world, I just wish it worked because I do it out of habit and hung up on a friend three times before I figured out what was going on...

I use a bluetooth headset

Edit... confirmed... it hangs up every time... DAMNIT! I used to like locking it. I thought that was a feature!

App Store links
App Store links have now been fixed. Prior to 2.2, clicking a link to an application in the App Store would display "Invalid URL". The App Store now opens as expected.

Eh, not for me. I am still getting

Cannot Open Page
Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid.

for all iTunes and AppStore links via Safari. :( It worked fine in 2.0. 2.1 seemed to break it for me.

anyone? :(

For me the apps search works, but when I got to the updates I get a message saying " Cannot connect to Itunes Store" Anyone else?

Now, when you update an app on the phone, it updates where you have the icon stored, instead of pushing it to the last page and then moving it back to it's original location. Not really a feature, but a difference from 2.1 none the less.

locking while in a call has ALWAYS ended the call for me. actually, thats usually how i hang up, esp if I have crap on my fingers and dont wanna touch the screen.

Whats driving me crazy is that I can't find the option to turn off the txt message alert that shows who text you.

I see

Username
New Text Messaage.

I think tonight I will go to the apple store and exchange my iphone 3g... My sound is gone and I need it. Can't even list to my voice messages on speaker.

Good evening to you all.

I updated to 2.2 this morning with no problems. All in all I think the phone is much snappier.

One problem I have noticed though. Since this morning I am unable to update any applications via the App Store. It seems to say ' Loading ' for an eternity , to then just inform me that it's not possible to connect to itunes store etc etc etc etc. It has been like this all day , something which 2.1 never did.

Am I right in saying that this is buggered until Apple issue a fix (could be a while) or is it likely to just ' sort itself out '

As I'm new to this iphone stuff , am I right in thinking that if this problem continues , the only way I can check for updates for my applications , is to connect to pc & check via itunes that way.

Regards James

a couple posts up, I noted that I power cycled my iphone (turned it off for about 5minutes and then back on) and afterwards, I did not get any more AppStore "Cannot connect" update errors. It may have been a coincidence, but give it a try!

Cheers , that'll teach me not to read :D

Will now try.

It ends the call when you are just using the phone itself, if you have the headphones or a bluetooth headset connected it locks the phone. I just tested it and it appears to still do it the correct way, hangs up when using the phone and locks when using another headset. I'm using the included wired headset and my iPhone bluetooth headset.

App store Enhancements

I love the fact that categories on the app store are now sorted by the top applications. The old way was by release date... after a few hours your application was no longer on the front page (no matter how popular). The old way caused developers to change their release date even when there were no changes so they could stay near the top of the list.

I like this way much better!

I believe it is something wrong on Apple's end of the spectrum. I started getting that message before updating to 2.2. They must have something wrong with their servers, because other people are getting the message before 2.2 aswell : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/604167/

Anyone notice the Scrolling Improvement?

It's fast/instant/smooth
I love it.
Much more natural.

How about text privacy now?
What a jerk I am.
