update all apps was removed for 2.1, I don't think it will be back sadly. Update has changed slightly though. With 2.1 when updating the app icon would appear in the first available slot then jump to it's correct place just before finishing. Now it goes straight to the right place. Trivial but a reassuringly detailed fix, I like that they fix seemingly trivial stuff like that.

It's back. Confirmed already.

2.2 is doing weird new things to the formatting of my incoming emails. Like some Yahoo and Google alerts it's streching vertically.

medicore update I think

I updated this morning around 445am before I went to work and it took about 20 minutes or so and then once I got to work I had to figure out what all the updates were. Most of them were just okay, nothing fancy. Today I registered for Macworld, so I am sure that something big will be annouced there (maybe landscape texting or a mms program). The maps update is cool but other phones can do that too now. I was waiting for the option to turn off the auto correction but now I find myself liking it when it's on, so I guess I just wanted to have the choice but sometimes it's irrating when you are trying to type in slang and it corrects you to some other word.

Overall I rate the update a B-

Anyone else notice that the Brightness slider, now when slid all the way to the left, completely turns off the backlight of the phone?

iPod Touch Audiobooks access

They have finally fixed the problem on the iPod Touch which stopped you accessing Audiobooks. On the previous firmware, going to the 'Audiobooks' category in the 'music' application, used to crash the application. This has now been fixed.

The original workaround for this was to create a smart-playlist and add the 'Audiobook' genre to it. This is no longer needed.

If you've jailbroken and are "never going back", then you must enjoy being jailbroken, no? If so, then what are so you mad about? Maybe because you can't update without losing your jailbroken status? How exactly is that functioning at "full capacity"?
Obviously you have no idea about the process of new firmware update and the subsequent release of pwnage, which allows jailbreak.

When rest of us are enjoying the software unlock capability, we'll see who's the one laughing.

update all

I can confirm with 100% certainty that the update all feature in the app store is back. This makes life a TON easier!

Yeah I noticed that, also noticed, the warm yellow tinge has gone to be replaced with Blue, like the original iPhone.

I prefered the warm tinge, but everyone winged because they didn't like change, if it was Yellow 1st and then blue they would have moaned too, so I don't think it was about preference. But I'm being a hyporcrite here by moaning, LOL.

I reckon apple put the brightness down, because when 2.1 came out, they said it had better battery life, I reckon that some of that extra life has gone now that the scheduled check for emails bug have been fixed, so they've turned the brightness down. Just speculating though.

I guess I won't be joining your LOLOLOLOL party for I am completely content with a "regular" non-jailbroken phone. I am happy with everything it provides. I jailbroke my phone back before the appstore, but I have yet to find a reason to do it now.

Unlocking - I can careless about either. I have been a happy customer with ATT for about 10ish years now. Best service (in my area other than verizon whom I can not stand.)

The speaker seems more bassy.

And Safari is snappier, for now, until all the cache files clog up or whatever it does that makes it slow again after a while.... Hopefully it will remain snappy.

I jailbreak for one simple reason, I like to "own" my phone.

Most people don't unlock their phone so they can switch carrier in their tiny little town, but rather have the option to switch out sim card when it matters the most, which is oversea.

I jailbroke and I'm never going back. Apple intentionally cripples the hell out of the iphone and that is pure BS. I encourage everyone to claim ownership of their phone and let it function at full capacity. Apple is turning into microsoft... fight back before it's too late.

That's odd. I jailbroke and plan to go back tonight. I poked around a bit but never found anything worth the hassle. I don't want to hijack the thread but could you tell me what you've found that's so useful?

Off topic, but whatever. :D

Do u have the link to the image? She definitely looks much more mature but attractive. Gotta love photoshop! :D

Yeah, you can find it here: http://i33.tinypic.com/2lny39h.jpg.

No photoshop!

Don't forget to tell me of any notable features which I've yet to mention!

hmmm. ok. well i own my phone. and as of right now, i still have no reason to unlock it. no reason at all.

i dont travel much, and when i do, it is usually to escape, meaning no one can contact me.

Thanks! It's actually a recent promotional for her current single.

Haven't you seen her lately? She looks great; and I don't mean by airbrushing.

A link to that picture would be greatly appreciated, i remember seeing that on the itunes store home page

EDIT,
Ok, ive just looked above, thanks, didnt realise someone already posted it.

man jailbreak is great. u get backgrounder which is really really nice trust me, u get video recorder u can block the sms preview pop-up when ur in the menu (which is unacceptable!!!) games etc.. i mean come on.. apple can do that stuff but for some reason they decide to give us ''update all'' option in appstore and street view.. which of course are nice but not what we need! but u can do really many other things with a jailbroken iphone.
