iPhone 3.0 Update for iPod Touch Page Appears in iTunes, Not Yet Functional

Weird. I clicked check for update and for a split second got the there's a newer version pop-up/blue and white stripes then back to 2.2.1 is the current version pop-up.

Why!!!!??????

Just a minute, the Touch has Bluetooth? I don't think mine does. And I thought peer-to-peer gaming was via Bluetooth - that screen says "across the country." Ans that doesn't read like Apple copy.

I smell fakery.
 
Im currently running iphone 3.0 GM. I think its the same thing as the release will be. In the off chance its different will I have to restore to get release version or just update?? any advice would be great
 
Australian site says June 18 too. It's 5:23 now, which means there's at least 7 hours until we get it (assuming it's the same time for everyone). Go to bed if you live in USA. :(
