iPhone 3.0 Update for iPod Touch Page Appears in iTunes, Not Yet Functional

Tried to pull an all nighter with my girlfriend but we are way to tired. I guess I will be updating my iPhone when we wake up.
 
Still waiting! I bet it won't be released until the afternoon for those of us on in PDT.

Apple says 10:00 am UK Time

Hi all
I called Apple Technical support as I woke at 5:00 excitedly to update my phone and the update was nowhere to be seen.

They said that they had reported it to their technical people and it should be available at 10:00 am UK Time.....

Am not going to hold my breath.

Their number is: 0870 876 0753 if anyone else wants to check..... :)
 
How do you get the battery percentage to show up in the 2G iPod touch? Also, I can't get AutoFill to work. How do you set that up?
 
Its 1:48 a.m. in L.A. and I'm off work in 40 mins. My works done so I'm going to go work on my car. I got the feeling as soon as I walk out on to the parking lot Apple's going to release it. Does anybody else feel that way?

it would make sense to release it then, that way officially the ENITRE US will be on June 17 (cant forgets the Hawaii)
 
Bad News I Am Afraid.... For Us In Uk

Hi all.

Just got through - software update is being released in the US first...... now there's a surprise.

Latest info is that it wont be available until after 6:00 PM in the UK - he did say to wait until after midnight as there will be lots of people downloading the update......

Told him that they should really have said that on their website as I and lots of others have waited patiently!!!!!

So there it is folks - good luck to all you lucky people in the US who get to play first...... Let us know of any problems eh!!!! :)

So to boil this down? When can each timezone excpect 3.0? Because im gettin the jitter's just waiting for it. PST 2:00 :D

Yeah they really should make a note of that on the website, there's millions of customers waiting.
Ah, well. 6:00 PM it is :)
 
I've been using 3.0 as a developer (legit) for a few months now. It's extremely solid and it's surprising how quickly I got used to the new features – I'd really miss them now if I had to go back to 2.x. Landscape typing of SMS is my favorite but it means I end up writing almost email-length messages! A feature which I haven't really seen mentioned is that you can hold your finger on a link in a web-page for a few seconds to get the option to either copy the link or open it in a new page. I've found myself using this new better implementation of tabbed browsing a lot.

The Time To Download 3.0 Will Be....

...18:00GMT(UK), SO 13:00ET and 10:00 PT(US). This comes from a member of staff at O2 UK, who all received memos in an email. Man, that sucks, I'm going back to bed!!!!:mad:
 
Ok, so Telia here in Swe has said 7pm (19.00) for the release today.
Same time as for the keynotes...

Hi there
Is there anyway of changing the SMS tones on the new software - would really like to have a new sound rather than the standard one. Dont want to jailbreak my phone as I know it can be done that way.
