iPhone 3.0 Update for iPod Touch Page Appears in iTunes, Not Yet Functional

~270 MB download, installed...still 2.2.1??

Then it did a 257mb download and is installing that to...huh?

2nd install put 3.0 on..weird....Ipod touch 2G
 
Downloaded, Installed & Activated in less than 20 mins. Such an improvement upon last year :)
 
Singapore vs UK

Singapore server is much quicker than the UK server, downloading both in tandem Started the Singapore download 20 mins later and it has now finished downloading;);)

thats weird its the same exact build as the golden master version. anyone know when all the push enabled apps will be available?
 
My download is going pretty slow, started around 1:25 and its now 1:42 with about 70 MB left. Still excited though.
 
Very nice so far. I'm impressed with apple. I thought it would take all day to get this updated and it was finished in a little over 20 mins.
 
Tip: you might want to put iPhone in "Airplane Mode" before upgrading.

(I got a call in the middle and had to start over... no biggie, though. Everything looks fine.)

Do not put your phone in Airplane Mode when doing the update. The cell signal needs to be present in order to complete the process. If you did do this, just take your phone out of Airplane Mode when you're at the emergency screen, by attempting to place a call. It will tell you you're in Airplane Mode and ask if you want to disable - press disable button and your phone will then sync with iTunes. All is well.
 
Verifying?

Mine has been downloaded, and installed but has been verifying for the last 10 minutes....?!?!?! Its torture! what should i do?:confused:
 
Question: I heard there is no need to restore with this update, so does that mean I could upgrade from my work computer and not lose any data, or should I wait till I get home where all my data syncs normally?
 
tip...

Make sure that if you are listening to itunes while you update, make sure you like what you are listening to, because you cannot stop it or change songs.
(I got lucky and was listening to a long Adam Carolla podcast)
 
I'm on 3.0

I'm now officially running on iPhone 3.0! Copy and Paste with Landscape Email...about time!!!

Only if you want to have your phone locked out. There were big problems with people doing this on one of the previous updates.
 
Epic fail!

Hahahahhahahaha, can you believe I downloaded iTunes 8.2 a few days ago but didn't install it? So when I FINALLY got the popup, it said I needed to install 8.2 HAHAHAHA! Now I need to wait for that to install :( DEVO!
