iPhone 3.0 Update for iPod Touch Page Appears in iTunes, Not Yet Functional

It took 2 hours last night to backup, restore and transfer over my applications. I had about 8 pages worth of applications. I canceled when it started to transfer music over because I had to go eat. Plan for a few hours to upgrade.
One thing I did notice on my 2G iPod Touch is that copy & Paste only works across the default apps and safari. I tried copying something in the Facebook app, but it didn't work. But I remember that back in March, apple said that it would work in 3rd party apps too. So what's going on? Can someone confirm when they get the software?
It's my understanding that apps need to update to be compatible with the 3.0 software, like some have already through App Store updates.
Facebook will need to add the Copy/Paste API to their program for it to work. I am sure there will be a tremendous amount of updates in the coming months for all our apps with the new APIs installed.
dose anyone know were the server is located? and what kind it is? i hope they use an xserver. thanks
Boody hope not ... got 5 macs in the house, bugger if i know which one i registered on first time. I have done other updates, don't think it will be an issue.

Second, as far as I know, Apple does not use Apple servers.

The update process, as always, backs up your phone/pod, restores it using the new software version, and the places your backed up data back on the phone/pod. This should be totally automatic and not require you to do anything other than wait.
My guess is that input is allowed to pass to the apps, but unless the apps have the API installed, they are not allowed to copy text and pass it along to the OS. I am sure there is a great deal needed and been added to copy the text with the boundaries and such. Inputing text into a text field may be inherent throughout the entire OS now.
Thats good though. Even though the Apps do not have the capability to copy text, at least you can input it. Like if you find a restaurant on the net, you can input it in an app that has reviews on that restaurant, especially since some restaurants are horrible to spell.
Hrm, I guess it would be a good idea to update my apps while I'm waiting for 3.0 then.
i was using the golden master 3.0 and now itunes keeps telling me that i have the latest version of the software and wont let me download. anyone else have this problem and resolve it? what is the actual that is downloaded from itunes golden master is 3.0 (7a341)
