iPhone 3rd Gen 2009: Mock Up With Front Cam

The new iPhone CAN'T have a different screen size.

I hope not. I find it too thin as it is, I have larger hands and get cramped using something as thin as the touch all the time as my phone.

Me too. Everyone keeps saying how they wish the iPhone 3G was razor-thin like the iPod touch but I wonder how many of them own both devices. The 2G iPod touch is rather painful to hold for extended periods of time, especially when trying to use the phone with only one hand. :(

i have bulk in my trousers even without the iPhone in my pocket.
but i must say i really like the shape of the iPhone as it is right now. the fact that it is slimmer on the edges makes it almost disappear in my trousers, visually i mean
 
OK. Very Good. Can you now do a back view with a Camera Flash built into the apple logo.

That would make me very happy so I can use the camera on nights out.
 
I can temporarily burn Apple logos onto all my friends' retinas. Awesome.

Could resolution independence be used at some point in the future to combat the compatiblity issue?

has anyone noticed that the mock up on macrumors front page has this same iphone if you look at the bottom of the phone you can see another button, the only thing it doesnt have is the camera!

is the camera not the white spot about half an inch under the speaker on the top of the phone. Cause that is what it looks like to me

yeah i agree, i think that that spot is actually the little green light just like on macbooks, to indicate that the cam is on, and the actual camera is kinda hidden under the glass, and cannot be seen in this pic because there's a reflection on the glass....

Sure, most of us do. But I own both devices and I'm telling you, there's no way I'd be able to hold a razor-thin iPhone all day. I'd HAVE to put it in a case, and then there goes that slim profile. Kinda defeats the purpose. ;)

That would be so cool! i would absolutely love this feature, especially in class when I'm not sure if i had anything, i could pull the iphone out far enough to see the home button and find out if i had a txt. kind of like on blackberry's how they have the led in the upper right corner.
 
look pretty sweet to me.. i like the bigger screen size but i am opposed to the side camera button i like the least amount of buttons possible lol
 
I'm still seriously doubting that that thing at the top of the leaked bezel is going to be the speaker.

I think it's more likely going to be a place to put a notification LED or something. The speaker isn't going to be on the edge, that's just horrible.

That, or you guys have the whole bezel thing upside down. The microphone goes at the bottom edge, making room for dual speakers on the bottom.

That's a huge notification indicator given the fact that Apple tries their hardest to hide the LED's on every other product they design. A notification indicator could pulse from behind the glass and never be noticed unless it's flashing.

Besides, there is nothing in the 3.0 firmware about a notification LED. ;)

Yeah, I'm leaning more towards it being the microphone on the bottom. Though, it would be nice to have a notification LED. ;)
