those of you upgrading be careful if you have a passcode. they now have it set to erase all your stuff if you screw up your passcode just 1 time!!!! i hit the wrong button and boom phone had to be restored.

Wow. That's a little dangerous...

Are you sure it's not a bug or something? Or is there actual settings that you can change to make it that way?

I love it. Running it for an hour now and it seems snappier then before and finally I can organize all my apps into folders

i went under the passcode menu and it says erase all data after 0 failed attempts. luckily i was able to downgrade to 3.1.3 after some trickery, but the baseband is still the new one. but it wouldn't even let me change the amount of time the passcode lock comes on so it was every minute.

All of my apps are crashing on me. MLB, 2Do all can't stay up. Looks like I may have to hope for a downgrade option sometime soon..

any idea when the offical OS 4.0 will be released

How did you sync yours in iTunes? I had the apps tab displayed when syncing.

I had the default iPhone sync screen open. I just synced again, with the app screen open (I was adding an app, so that might have been the cause) and it wiped my folders that time.

Even though it's a little stuttery every now and then the entire OS is faster. Not "snappy" but genuinely faster. The Youtube app is around three times faster at everything than it used to be. I can't imagine how well the final release will perform on my 3GS nevermind on new hardware.

That's odd as my options are the same as they always were

You can now FINALLY change the calendar AFTER you create an event in the calendar app. This is great, before you had to remove and recreate the event, just to change the calendar.

I'm happy, it run's really stable and I like the app folders, the new Mail app is awesome, I want to turn off landscape mode( I hate it) and I miss SBSettings, a lot.

SMS character count is one of those things that should have been there from iOS 1.0. It's really well done, only shows up when you type more that 3 lines of text.

Some apps crash, most of them work well (1:10 crash ratio on my apps).

Up-great progress was really smooth, this is pretty much a final release in my opinion, had no OS crashes or bugs what so ever.

I have a 3G iPhone so no multitasking for me :(

Internet tethering switch is present by default but disappears from the 'network' menu as soon as you turn it on.

Most Important Question in the Universe:

Hi,

Could someone do a huge favor and check whether you can FINALLY search in the Notes field in Contacts? That, combined with the insanely late addition of Copy & Paste will finally let my iPhone do what my Newton did 14 years ago -- yaaaay!

(Thanks if anyone can verify ;-)

It would appear not sorry.

Is Pandora suppose to continue playing in the background right now? It stops whenever I switch to another app in my phone.

I have a legit copy, and I'm waiting to install it until I hear of no major issues on the phone. I still need this to use daily, and I don't want a lemon just yet. So basically, I'd love to hear some basic reviews on performance as well.

Use it bro, it's great :)

When will people finally stop complaining about copy/paste? Get over it and move on to complaining about other things.

Is anyone able to maintain full screen caller ID photos? I use Google Sync via Exchange, and I think it's causing an issue where my pics are sent back as thumbnails. There was a warning that popped up when I was changing my contact photos for the first time, but I cannot recall exactly what it said anymore.

lost all my texts and pictures :(
