Issue with Exchange account after updating to 4.0

I updated to OS 4.0 last night, and now am unable to configure/use my Exchange account. It keeps telling me it's "unable to verify account". Worked fine for me on 3.1.3.

Any suggestions / thoughts ???

Many thanks.

Quite a few bugs. When wallpaper is set in the camera roll it doesn't apply it. Working wallpaper can only be applied via settings. SMS is often jumpy when sending a message. The new home screen animations are very nice. Obviously multitasking doesn't work yet.

those of you upgrading be careful if you have a passcode. they now have it set to erase all your stuff if you screw up your passcode just 1 time!!!! i hit the wrong button and boom phone had to be restored.

Yup, I had to change my passcode to all 0's because I already wiped my phone once :(

I have been having similar issues with different apps. It seems like my iPhone has had a difficult time connecting to the internet after the update to 4.0. I have no wifi at home and I am having a difficult time connecting via 3G.

lost all my texts and pictures :(
hahah i need to start backing up more often.
beta is fast. for some reason, i cant set my homescreen background though.
data also doesnt work because im running on the bb plan the apn change isn't compatible for 4.0 yet.
overall, im impressed. the sms search is GREAT.

edit.
reset fixed hom screen issue. i need that apn changer. dammit.

One of the reasons why I downgraded was because I could no longer get data, and I didn't want to switch off my BB data plan yet.

Overall, what are some of the features that merit upgrading ? I really want to do it but I'm a bit hesitant to for my primary phone. I did in on the ipod touch 2G- and it's quite buggy and slow and I have problems with the iPod function- all of my beatles albums don't show up in coverflow! Weird. This beta (the ipod touch version) seems like an afterthought. Not being able to change my wallpaper is disappointing.

PS. All of you who want the raindrop back you must RESET ALL SETTINGS and it'll work.

If I only had one device I wouldn't upgrade yet. It's a very functional beta but when you need things to work immediately they sometimes don't. Also, if you upgrade you're stuck with this and the future betas. Last year, one or two of the betas were actually worse than their predecessors and broke things that had worked fine previously

This is exactly why, I have a developer account, but there's no way I want to be stuck with a phone that doesn't work well when I need it to. I only release app related to my band, which is a small niche of customer, so there's no point in me having a second phone just for developing. If I were a full on developer, I would certainly have a second for development. I want these new features, but not at the cost of what possibly the betas might do to it.

Just read through this entire thread and didn't see any comments on in app sms... anyone ? any thoughts? is it even functioning or existent in the beta?
This is a really important one for me.
Thanks!

I'm thinking it's more of in-app push notifications rather than something like biteSMS or Quick Reply.

I'm having similar issues - no home screen wallpaper, SMS is jumpy, and a biggie is NO VISUAL VOICEMAIL. I get the notification on my home screen that there is a voicemail, but it doesn't show up in the VM section in the Phone app.

Sorta wishing I didn't update this...

You know those office apps that let you email finished docs from the app itself? That's all it is. Quickoffice could now theoretically let you SMS your tiny docs. An SMS form will just slide in instead of you getting bounced around apps. It's nothing to do with quickreplying to personal SMSes.

Note that it was on the dev API slide, not the 100 new end-user features slide.

That makes more sense than my crackpot idea :p

for those of u having these problems like no wallpaper, visual voicemail, and jumpy messaging are u using a 3g or 3gs , just wondering:eek:

in-app sms is a developer API not a user feature. I made the same mistake thinking it was on the user feature graphic after first seeing the pic. we have to wait for developers to include it in their apps probably wont be anything really big other then some possible update sms clients in app store. still wont be able to have quick reply.

SPECIFIC MESSAGE SEARCHING!!!! WOOOT WOOOOOT

i remember when people complained about how the iphone compresses photos when you email them. long goneeeeee

Is any form of multitasking functional at this point? Has anyone tried Pandora?

No OS 4 compatible apps have been released, so no, it isn't functional yet for any third party apps.

New album display in iPod is a lot cleaner. *snip*

Wow, that looks great. I think it would look better if they changed the colors to match iTunes, but I guess that could cause some users to get confused.

Right now, sending photos via email seems unstable to me. I tried sending 4 at once, and my first 2 came out glitched and broken. Also, when I try to send just one, it just gets orphaned in my outbox never getting sent. I'm sure this will be cleaned up in future betas.

huh?

When will people finally stop complaining about copy/paste? Get over it and move on to complaining about other things.

You mean like I did using incisive humor (hu·mor; hyü-mər) and wit when I showcased how lame this omission was? ;-) (Still not being able to search Note field in Contacts, NOT C&P for those just tuning in.)

Do you have the crankiness and spare time of Dick Cheney or something?

But I agree, more complaints: Screen Lock please. The iPhone is used lying on your side probably more than any other device, probably more than even the iPad will be -- it would be a nice addition. (esp. as my sensor seems to have gone off and thus is overly sensitive to one side)

Also: Notes App has been too bare-bones since day one. On a Newton, you could turn a note into a collapsible bullet list or checklist that you could even re-order easy as pie -- I don't think adding that would be a huge challenge compared to many of these other good requests.

Having a play with 4.0 now, on a 3G.

Nice to see the camera zoom found its way into the 3G firmware, though I'd rather have had multitasking

Has anyone successfully paired a keyboard with 4.0? I can't get it to work and I'm hoping it isn't something they stripped from the 3G firmware!

I was wondering if they maybe forgot to take the features out of the 3g, if multitasking was enabled I wouldve payed the $100 just for the beta, but I guess ill just have to wait for the new iPhone in summer.
