These look ok! The only thing that causes some concern is that the camera lens cover will probable not be glass so it could get scratched more easy!

This is my major concern. If it doesn't have a legit camera lens cover and the flash diffusor no amount of money will make it worthwhile.

Ok I'm confused. It says that it's glass?

And I haven't seen ANY with the diffuser yet, and people that have installed those don't really notice a difference in the pictures.

There shouldn't be a difference right out of the gate but those are two different concerns. Frenchjay is concerned that the lens cover isn't as tough as the original one and could be scratched more quickly and more easily. Thus leading to worse pictures.

I'm concerned that they won't even be there meaning that your camera flash are exposed and are perfect places for dust, dirt and other debris to collect and possible ruin your camera/flash or get further into the phone causing even more damage.

Got mine in today.

hey guys i bought mine off ebay a week or so ago and got it in the mail today. I installed it on with ease and it looks sweet. BUT the after-market back housings DO NOT come with a flash diffuser Taking pictures or videos with the flash on will result in this... :(

Im sure other housings with the diffuser will pop up somewhere shortly!

hey guys i bought mine off ebay a week or so ago and got it in the mail today. I installed it on with ease and it looks sweet. BUT there is one major issue. the flash lens on the original iphone backing has some sort of magnifier on it which these after-market ones dont have. Taking pictures with flash or video with flash ruins your shot. heres some pics.

can we get pics of the phone? how was installation? an in depth review would be nice.

Some pics

Sorry the lighting my room stinks. i took the pics with my 3gs. hope this helps.

its not the camera lens! it take perfect pictures without the flash. it seems that the flash interferes with the camera from the inside.

Ah i see. In that case it might be possible to fix it. Just need to make some sort of light blocker that sits between the flash and the lens.

Do you think its possible to mod the inside so that there is no light leakage going into the sensor? Maybe put in some type of sticky black foam so that the flash doesn't leak out from inside?

That may be true but when you replace the backing you can see a foam-like substance around the camera lens and flash lens thats supposed to block anything around it. The problem is that the after-market backings do not come with a flash diffuser. thats why the pictures with flash are coming out like crap!

the housing is plastic but the cover on the top is a thin aluminum layer. it feels real nice in your hands.

Thanks for the info i think im going to order one after seeing your pictures. I'm surprised how good it looks!

i actually tried something like that but it made little or no difference. The after-market backings dont come with the flash diffuser! thats why the pictures are coming out like crap!

Yea it looks real nice. My friends actually thought i had put one of those stickers on the back. its real easy to do anyway. you just remove the 2 bottom screws, slide the backing down a little bit and it comes off. so simple.

Did it come with the tiny screwdriver? Idk if I have one small enough.
