Yes, indeed. That was my first option. Only to find out i might have to get there 1 hour or 2 before the store opens to make sure i will get one. It's like those small letters unaided to the human eye after an anti-pregnancy pill commercial, or the really fast spoken words after a radio promotion commercial. You get the point.
 
After two hours of trying apple I went to Att got right in was able to reserve 32g and keep my old data plan 3 minutes total F234K apple

Yeah... "F234K apple"... I mean, it's only their precious phone you spent 2 hours waiting for.... moron
 
Got through after several attempts on apple.com. Wouldn't let me "order" it, would only default to "reserve," which is what I wanted anyway. It said there "will be an iphone waiting for you that day."

I don't like that the reservation page doesn't show any personal information about me. How certain am I that they're going to hold the phone for me? They did check my phone info to be sure I can upgrade, so it should in theory be linked to me, but to not give me a reservation number, have my name on it, or anything...I'm nervous I'm going to walk in and not have a phone waiting.

Damnit! Twice now I get to the point of shipping destination (apple store or mailed) and it bombs out. Now store is down. :(

How ridiculous is this? why am I all stressed about this? It's just a phone...but I want it :D

finally got it! 2 hours later and resorting to ATT's site. After I closed my browser went back to ATT's site the iPhone 4 was an option for me to upgrade to after it not being there for 2 hours. For those of you still having problems with ATT, try closing the browser completely?

didn't work. still not available on my company store (big company too).

1) att auth servers not working
2) att store not updaated
3) apple store is down
4) apple final add to cart not working

so far att is sucking most
 
Yea, I did. I placed the same upgrade order 3 times and each time within 3 minutes got a canceled email. UGH!!! I'm simply going through THEIR upgrade process for my phones that are up for upgrades. My two phones. Pretty simple, I'd think. Apparently not.

Unfortunately, we were either unable to verify the information you provided or you have exceeded the number of lines of service that we allow customers to purchase online. As a result, your order has been canceled. "

EDIT: I just tried to upgrade a fourth time and it seems ATT is wising up. lol They took all Apple iPhones off their options for upgrading your phone. Screw this. I'll just do it in the morning. So what if I have to wait a couple more days. I need sleep! Ha!

I just posted about ATT's servers. I called CS with business care. They confirmed their systems are down and overloaded. Try back at 8am.

But they also hinted I might be able to pre-order a White one at my ATT retail store. So I might just wait till 10am and head to the retail ATT store to see if the white is available for pre-order.
 
Anyone get a confirmation EMAIL from the Apple store yet?

I got all the way through to the confirmation page on their web site, and then a few minutes later the site crashed. So I'm wondering if my order will get processed correctly. :\

P.S. I reserved mine for pick-up at my local Apple store.
 
so heres my story for any one that cares..... ive been on here since 12am edt...... right at 4am when the site went up i got right through the site.... i was about to order it when i went back like an idiot to get the bumper and ever since then i have gotten no where hahahaha glad im not working today
 
yea... tomorrow is going to be a madhouse if you think it's bad right now... that's the only thing keeping me up at this hour... you thought EDGE was slow... try the Apple site tomorrow morning!

Get through and I'm not being allowed to select the pre-order iphone 4. All I got as options are the iphone 3gs.

I have a 8% discount with a work discount. this is bs.

apple's backend runs on SAP servers. the email confirmation runs in a batch once in a while. i'm guessing that is not a high priority atm.
 
If and when I order from Apple can I have it shipped to my office or like ATT does it lock you in to shipping to the billing address?

yeah I saw how small the font was and the color nearly matches the background........ trickery!!!!!

Tho I could get to the store at 5 am local.. I just don't WANNA!!!

When the 3G came out I waited inline at an AT&T store for 4 hours....was 10th inline...... only to have AT&T's servers crap out and I had to go to work so I could not wait it out...

who ordered the 2GB for $25 vs the unlimited for $30?

If you are on this forum, more than likely you haven't been able to order. Not going to drop the unlimited myself. Makes no sense. If you get the cheaper, it is $10 for another $200mb and the pro version if you go over it is $10 for another GB. I'll stick with "unlimited" and not have to worry either way.

I also have a "Premiere" account through my place of employment and am showing the same thing...no matter how I try to go through the AT&T process (starting like a new customer) it reroutes me back to the Premiere eligibility page and the iPhone 4 is NOT an option there. Yes, I tried resetting the filters.
 
Was experiencing problems through the apple site so I did it through AT&T. It seemed to work for me. Waiting on the confirmation email. I suggest yoyo-ing back and forth between the two
 
It's seriously been 3 hours I am trying in vain to order it. It started first to decline my SSN, then it stuck in "processing information". After 2 hours and the idea I should start smoking again, when I added in my cart - "We'll be back soon." Like seriously?

That we are thousands to connect does not excuse anything. A company like Apple should be able to build a website capable of handling an extremely high traffic. It's the same every year, every time there is a major release or a new iOS through iTunes and you try to reactivate your phone after the update : the whole thing goes down. Why are they not learning from their mistakes? That's seriously the kind of things that drives me nuts. What were they expecting? Only 3 of us were going to pre order iPhone 4?

I swear by Apple but I am getting more and more frustrated with the way they handle their products or their customer support. (Let's not talk about a 17-inch MacBook Pro sent back and forth 6 times between the repair center and the Apple Store until I could finally pick it up, 2 months later because their technicians do not read properly what has to be repaired. No, let's not go this way.)

Not happy. Not. Happy. :mad:
 
I just called :apple: and was told that they're not accepting orders until 5 AM pacific time. That's 8:00 AM eastern for the time zone challenged.
