I never complained, but £70 more on 3GS and £50 more on 4 compare to the previous line is a bummer; of course is going along with the new mac mini extra £150, because as technology goes cheaper the cheaper mac get dearer.



AND WHY IS THE APPLE STORE DOWN AGAIN?

I'm tempted to preorder from AT&T, but there are two reasons I won't: a) AT&T has been notorious for not shipping the new iphone on day one like apple, b) a lot of people are getting emails from AT&T saying that their order is canceled.

If you can handle staying up, I recommend sticking with apple as you will be able to walk in on the 24th and absolutely get one. It WILL clear up. I've been on since midnight 12PST, trying the site since 1am PST - nothing but problems like most others. About 15min ago (3am), I was able to order my iphone 4, my wifes, and one for my dad. It wasn't flawless, but it seems that something is improving.

One thing to note, that "processing wheel" if you see it spinning for > 5min, I suggest you open a new tab and consider giving up on it - try again with a new tab. I think after a few minutes, the server probably gave up on you. Every 'successful' time, it only took maybe 30 seconds at most.

about 15 ago i was getting the 'Oops', currently the apple store is down but the 'pre-order' button worked for me, just got my 32gb black reserved

AT&T's site has a banner stating that the $36 activation fee is waived: http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/packages/iphone-packages.jsp

Then on the invoice, it says you will be billed $36 for the activation fee on the first bill.

Which is it?

Get through and I'm not being allowed to select the pre-order iphone 4. All I got as options are the iphone 3gs.

I have a 8% discount with a work discount. this is bs.

Really? If you have a work discount applied, you can't order the iPhone 4??? UUUGGHHHHH!!! I work for the state of NJ and I have a discount on my account.... Looks like I'll be getting my iPhone in October

apple's backend runs on SAP servers. the email confirmation runs in a batch once in a while. i'm guessing that is not a high priority atm.

Think Apple Store is starting to percolate....They appear to be saving pre-auths from previous sessions.. I am getting through to add to cart much faster now... always failing at the Add to Cart Button for Apple Online Store ie Delivery

Same here. I am now able to easily get to "Add to Cart", but it always responds with "Oops! An error has occurred during your session. Please return to the Store Menu to continue shopping."
