On AT&T I get to the Checkout page where you have to validate the contact info and the ship to info...but there is no submit button?

When you checked out did you notice this: "Pre-orders for iPhone 4 and/or iPhone 3GS 8 GB will be shipped with overnight priority and will begin to arrive on June 24, 2010. The actual shipment date and receipt of your order is not guaranteed and may be subject to delays for reasons that include, but are not limited to, product availability, inventory, credit issues, number porting, carrier issues, and completion of other required AT&T business processes."

AT&T may just be hedging their bets, but they make me nervous.

They make me nervous too!! Placed my order on their site almost an hour ago and no confirmation email yet - - although I did get a confirmation page and an order number after it processed. eerrgghh

Or you could just ask Orange to supply a Micro SIM for the account you have with them at the moment. They will supply you a Micro SIM card if you ask.

Yes, but If I do this, won't it require two contracts, the current one until it ends, plus a new one for the microsim? Have you any experience with asking Orange for MicroSIM?

We're here working all the kinks out for you all across the ponds.

Interesting - looked at a 16GB iPhone 4 PAYG reserved at the store .. but you're requested to confirm without actually providing the price they will charge.

As they will not provide a price I decided not to.

How many servers would you have put in place to deal with the load?
What if you 'guess' was not enough?
Do you think Apple wanted the meltdown?
They will have done all they could to have prepared for the pre-order, but have probably been totally surprised by the demand. It happens. Get over it, it is not the end of the world. It is not as if your life depends on you getting an iPhone 4 on the day they are released!!!!

This. Probably the problem is in the back-end database more than the Web servers themselves, and that's not so easy to scale up on demand. It's expensive, and since almost all of the grumpy people will eventually come back to buy the iPhone 4, there isn't much incentive for Apple to incur exorbitant costs to support a one-time demand.

I didn't get an email either, but did get the confirmation number page. I'm hoping they'll send one later, because they have no way to see "open orders" on their site that I can tell.

Yeah, the only thing keeping me from using at&t is not knowing if it'll get here that day. Apple is pretty much dead-on.

The Apple Store is still down. I was hoping to have this pre-ordered before having to head to work. This is not cool Apple!

I got the "Your iPhone is Reserved" page, but no email either, there was no confirmation number.

Does anyone know if there's an option to keep my current plan on the pre-order? I see apparently you have to 'pick a plan'...i dont want to switch plans and then find out my 'unlimited data' has been switched....
Oh and page is down for me....it's been saying "we'll be back soon" since 6am EST...

It does say it "Status for orders placed in the last 24 hours may not be available", which I think stinks these days, especially for big corporations!

thats my concern too.

I'm on a 24 shift tonight :(

work blocks everything..even useful medical sites..

I am in the same boat. I have to leave for work soon. No internet access for me at work. I did manage to get a reservation with confirmation email, but I want to order online and ship to home!
