I am not bitter it just saddens me how sophisticated marketing had become. To the point where people will buy a product they know to be faulty and to que for it. I feel sorry for the people who think these products will make their life better some how as apple implies in their advertising. I also know some people out there will buy this product when they can not afford it and have to make sacrifices or get into debt for the sake of having a gadget that is pretty much the same as most other cell phones.

Cell phone enthusiasts have had the wool pulled overt their eyes since day one, it is an incredible profit for some of the worlds largest corporations.

I wouldn't mind if I saw regular posts from people expressing how the phone has "changed the way we communicate" or how they made this great home movie edit. No! All you hear is them saying the iphone is great, it's shiny, it's put me in debt!

If it was a device that did something we could have only dreamed of in the past that could actually make our lives better I could understand. But at the end of the day it is just a cell phone the only way it has changed the way we communicate is by talking about the device itself because it has been upgraded. If I can make one person decide to spend there money on music paint audio/video/photo software anything actually good for the mind I will be very happy.

Just move along.
People can do what they want with their life and money, who are you to judge?

Perhaps you can spend some money on spelling lessons:

que = queue
some how = somehow
apple = Apple
can not - cannot
overt = over
there = their

You will be just like everyone else, you will be sucked in by marketing for some product you buy, you just won't admit it.

The iPhone is a great phone, people do want to own it, some for the right reasons (great product does what they want, need) some for the wrong reasons (because it is a hot product, being in with the in crowd). BUT for whatever reason they buy it is their choice, NOT yours.

I wish we could all stop doing this. It's not sad. It's what they choose to do. I lined up for my iPhone 4 and I don't think of myself as a sad indvidual. I have a full and rich life but I happen to really love Apple products. Is it sad that millions went all the way to Africa just to watch some people play football? Or that kids lined up for hours to be the first to read the last Harry Potter book? I tell you something, the people I met in the queue were anything but sad. They were very happy.

+1

A-freaking-men.

Your right it is good to get excited about things. But don't you think that the excitement has been artificially created rather than earned? Apple products are great and are supposed to work well, thats why they are slightly more expensive and you usually get what you pay for. It does not seem the case with the iphone4 maybe I'm wrong but I certainly would not take that risk.
As Public Enemy say "don't believe the hype"

My iPhone 4 is fine, don't believe all the hype about the issue.

It is being blown out of proportion by the media, trying to shoot down a product as they always do when something is successful.

Sure some people can make the signal drop when the hold the iPhone in a particular way. Is that a big issue, no. Why because you know about the problem and can do something about it. It will be fixed and then we can all forget about it. In the meantime, just hold the phone in the other hand, or slightly differently, whatever it takes, it is not exactly the end of the world.

Waited in line at an Ohio AT&T store for 2 hours approximately 50 in line. AT&T guy comes out and says we only received 15 iPhones but please continue to wait because we can order one one for you delivery in 2-3 weeks! Hooray! The most botched roll out of a product in the history of mankind continues.....

Wrong wrong wrong. And let me tell you, it's sad that you think like that. Apple does not have hypnotizing powers - they just made an awesome product.

ps: go get an ip4. It will change your mind and blow you away.

Brilliant way to belittle my argument by pointing out spelling mistakes. Stay in line robot.

That sucks so much. Sorry man.

You are kidding, right? It′s supposed to go on sale in many countries near the end of July. They just won′t announce dates. September is like 9 months before the announcement of the NEXT iPhone.

lol yeh i was just kidding, buuuuuuuuuut, with them struggling to supply the 5 countries its been released in atm i can see it being a long time before they are in a position where they can offer it in other countries and i suspect numbers will be even more limited than they were when it launched in the original countries. I was pretty damn lucky i managed to get one on day 1, waited in line for 10 hours at the apple store, best place to go if you havent pre-ordered one.

Ahhh, pointing out spelling errors.

The last refuge of a pathetic Apple Butt-Boy.

:rolleyes:

Well let's look at it this way then... You have people here having fun camping out for a new toy -OR- You have a bitter boob from the UK armchair quarterbacking the whole thing? I'm pretty sure I know which I'd rather be.

Tempe Marketplace AT&T store.

Line isn't too bad... about 35 people so far. Yesterday they told me they'd have 50 phones in the morning and would get a second shipment in the afternoon.:rolleyes:

OK mate, compare away. I supposed you'll be straight on facebook after you get it, telling everyone how good it is, please tell me why it (iPhone4) is good?

Finally

-wait wasn't too bad...better than the 3 week shipping time :apple: is currently reporting

I drove by the Huntsville, AL Airport Road Store at around 6:10 and there were maybe 15 people in line.

My mom wants one, but she isn't in an all fire hurry. She can just run out sometime today and pick one up likely.

Unless AT&T only has like 30, this won't be a problem.

I don't know.. I waited 14 hours for mine, got it.. and was so annoyed and disgusted at the situation that I still can't really enjoy it. I feel dirty inside for owning it, and truthfully just wanted to shove it down the throat of the blue shirted douche who took nearly 40 minutes from the time I walked through the door to the time I was allowed out with it.

What does it matter what reasons he gives you? You know the features. You won't agree with him. Now, If you don't know the features, then that's another problem. Oh, and if a post about people waiting in line bothers you so much, why not skip it and go to another one?
