OK, nevermind, I didn't have the signal issue near where I bought the phone but here at home it's doing the exact same thing I've seen on all the youtube videos. But let's be honest here for a second, the front and back of the phone is glass. You NEED a case anyway, because it will break if you drop it. So, whatever. The phone is otherwise perfect, I love the screen, and it's nice and speedy. I'll probably just grab some bumpers and call it a day. Not sure about a screen protector yet.

Sure you do

Only ten of us at the Boca Park location in Las Vegas. I'm 9th in line, got here at 1:45am. This is the first time I've ever done something like this and I definitely don't fit in, haha.

Sure you do don’t worry, I felt that way when I did it for the 3G and ended up meeting some very cool people and we had a great time. I have been lucky, the last two launches, I was able to pre order and this time I got iPhone 4 on the 22nd it was great and iPhone 4 is well worth the wait! I do miss the waiting in line but not enough to do it if I don’t have too but I would if needed. So kickback and enjoy! Come on people in line make some new friends?

was about 80-100 people @ Brooklyn,NY ATT store they only had 35 phones, they ran out of 32gb i had to reserve one, they said they are getting more today and will call me when its available to pick up and i had until the end of the day to get it.

I don't know.. I waited 14 hours for mine, got it.. and was so annoyed and disgusted at the situation that I still can't really enjoy it. I feel dirty inside for owning it, and truthfully just wanted to shove it down the throat of the blue shirted douche who took nearly 40 minutes from the time I walked through the door to the time I was allowed out with it.

send it to me... ill refund your money via paypal plus $50 extra as a good faith gesture.

What does it matter what reasons he gives you? You know the features. You won't agree with him. Now, If you don't know the features, then that's another problem. Oh, and if a post about people waiting in line bothers you so much, why not skip it and go to another one?

Please read my other posts in this thread and hopefully you'll see me point.

I hope everyone gets lots of pleasure from their purchase today. :apple:

I just got mine (32GB) at the AT&T across from Lenox in ATL. Got there around 5:15 and was around 20th in line. Picked up one for me and one for another person. Mine does NOT have the signal issues, and I haven't tested the other one.

If you told me two years ago that I'd be in line for an iphone, I would have called you certifiable.... but there I was lol... and it was actually fun! Aside from the ip4 excitement, staff giving water, bagels and cookies, chatting with other in line, it was a "concert" atmosphere.

And, enjoying my issues-free iPhone 4 days and weeks ahead of others. Priceless :D

Just goes to show how gullible people are. The iphone4 is faulty and your queuing for the opportunity to do what? Have it before others? Maybe you desperately want to part with your hard earned and to que for the privilege of owning the soon to be most widely available and popular cell phone in the world?

Is it because you want to be the same as everyone else? Am I missing something? Does an apple touch interface induce orgasm? Pure madness:confused:

Def induces orgasm.... my phone is not faulty and I have no case etc... I am a lucky early adopter. the phone issues will be fixed or resolved and everyone who has issues will be taken care of... they have too much to lose to NOT do anything.... so for those of you going to buy a phone today or standing in line, do not listen to people who say you are buying a faulty phone.... I mean its not like your buying a droid product here...

About 50 in line this morning at my ATT - Rural Pennsylvania.

Was about 10th in line, so no problems, but they figure they would be turning some people way.

Had more than a few getting delivery vouchers for the white phone.

I love my iPhone 4 and no issues with mine. Everybody excuse the haters because they know no better. I remember when I had a Storm (yeah I know). I was bashing the iPhone and asking what's the hype about and talking crap about a product I really never tried and knew about. But when I picked up the iPhone 3G I was sold but didn't buy my first til the 3GS and I knew then I wouldn't have no other product, not knocking any other phone but iPhone is more than just hype. And now I have the 4, it's amazing with lots of possibilities.
BTW I got the iFrogz Luxe Lean case for protections. Nice case

I Agree

That’s exactly why I miss it, it’s truly fun meeting people that you normally wouldn’t. I would probably still do it but I would worry they would run out before me, that’s why I like to pre-order, I know I’ll get it.:apple:

I love small towns. I arrived at 5:30am and was 4th in line. In and out of the store in 20 minutes. By 7am there were maybe 16 total in line and everyone got one as far as I could tell.

you said you picked one up for someone else... how did you get out the store with it? didnt they make you activate it while you were there?

Issues?

The only time I can get the signal to drop a bar or 2 is inside my house where I have always had a week signal but never lose’s a signal or drops calls. When getting a good signal I can bridge the antenna (wrap hand around it) and cannot get it to drop even 1 bar, I tried this all day yesterday, even one town over where my business is. Personally I think there is no real issue and I do believe you have to go out of your way to make it happen.

This thread reads like a bunch of people excited to line up to see Santa on December 26th...

I think the problem is that alot of people here on the boards spend so much time from "stupid" people trolling about that it becomes second nature for people to go on the defensive when someone asks why buy the phone and what's all the hubbub about.

I can tell you for me coming from a 3G it's speed, the screen, and the camera is phenomenal. I picked it up Thursday and then took my family to Universal for the weekend. It was so great to be able to take video and have the phone to take pictures. Admittedly I have a point and shoot but I was thinking of getting a Flip for the summer so I could get some video of my son but the video on the iPhone 4 saved me another 200 dollars becuase the videos look great.

Now I know that there are other phones out there that have been able to do that but none sync up to my Mac the way that I want them too. That's why I've gone with an iPhone in the first place - it syncs the way that I want it to sync. Also, I'm sure if alot of the people could have got a reservation or pre-ordered they most likely would have but this is their only option.

And then you have people that do it for the "experience". Admittedly I waited in line for the iPad and it was a really great experience. Now, I waited at an Apple store that provides a shopping experience on launch day that I think few other stores could rival becuase the employees at the Apple store really take care of you and add to the experience. For those waiting at an AT&T store I'm sure it's going to be a little different but when you want something...you want it. You don't always need a reason for the want.

As for what do people do with it...I think Forums aren't always the best place to look for what people do creatively with their phones. Check out Youtube or Flickr or other sites like that. I can almost guarantee you that within a month there will be scads of videos of people being uber creative with their iPhones...you can find scads of what they've done with the old ones - with the added tech in the new iPhone 4 that's only going to grow.

As you can tell - I am a proud and happy owner of my iPhone 4 :D:apple:

iPhone 4 is junk - Android is better

Android phones are way better than the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is just overhyped junk. The Xperia X10 is awesome. It's spelt with an X. It's got an 8.1MP camera. WOW. Huge screen. Or the Droid X. People it's called X. That's awesome. It's got a 4.3 inch screen. Bigger = better. It's got flash video = awesome. It's completely open source so it does lots of stuff. It's got 3G Mobile Hotspot!!! That's incredible. And what about the HTC Incredible?? It's even called incredible!! You need to get this phone!!
So in summary everyone should just get out of the queues, you need to stop ordering the iPhone 4 online. For the foreseeable future you just just buy Android phones (or for as long as it takes for me to get my new iPhone 4).

Very well put, and I agree waiting at an Apple store is a much better experience. The Apple employee’s are great on launch days.
As I’ve stated in some of my posts I’m enjoying my new iPhone 4!

This is to geenome.

I will give you one reason why the iPhone 4 has changed the way people communicate

facetime. for deaf people this is a whole new world being able to "talk" on a cellphone face to face.

thats huge and you can try to bring people down, belittle them calling them "robots" and just be bitter all together but in the end its changed the way cellphones are today and what quality to expect.

Would this indicate, maybe, that ordering from the online apple store would result in a quicker shipping time?
Right now mine is at July 20th shipping date but a friend at work just walked in with an iPhone (no pre-order) downtown

I guess if this means shipping times could be moved up, I would wait, otherwise I'm going to have to take an EARLY lunch :p

I posted earlier on this thread while I was waiting in line, and I was nervous about not being able to get one and once I got towards the front of the line they announced they only had 3 32GB's left and thankfully only 2 people in front of me wanted 32GB so I got the last one! I was so happy. My store was giving out vouchers to people who didn't quite make the cut so they could come back later today when they get another big shipment in...I'm so thankful the process was fairly quick (1 1/2 waiting/ 20 min in store).

I think this is a sign that all this bull **** about reception issues may be an issue but it's not nearly big enough to cause people to not want the iPhone.

Drove by my local one today in Arlington, Tx. There were about 75 people lined up. I was hoping to grab one before work. But that dream was crushed!
