I'm a proud owner of the defender :D

Just installed my iPhone 4 inside it and man it looks good!!!

I'm not sure about using the belt clip it's freaking huge but I am happy with the look, feel and durability of the case.

I was going to take pics and give a review but others have already done it.

Clearly, the impact case was the last one that they produced, since they learned a lesson from other case errors... where the camera/flash opening is now much larger:

The defender and commuter are going to have the flash issue.

how is it in your pocket? im not sure that has been clearly answered, i know its bulky but just how bad is it. without a case my iphone barely feels like its in my pocket because of how thin it is.

I don't think anyone is having an issue there are others in this thread who have already done tests with no problems. Let me know if you find any posts about the defender. I will run some camera tests later and let ya know how it goes for me.

I do see the edge around the flash on my defender has a nice concave groove around it. Other cases I read about with issues didn't seem to have that slanted type of edge think without that concave edge was causing the issues.

Yes that's also been answered in this thread I just tried it and is easy to in/out of pocket it has that silky smooth rubber feel not tacky. I will be curious to see if that smooth ash like finish rubs off the Rubber over time like some other cases I've had in the past but I am happy with it.

guess i skipped completely over the answer and question then, but thanks! and so it is relatively easy to slide in and out huh. is it pretty bulky looking while in the pocket?

When did you order your case?

When did you order your case?

The morning of it's release there is a post in this thread I made gives all details let me look for it.

I dont think it's to bulky without anything else in the pocket but the belt clip is huge I could use it as a shovel like mcgroober lol.

These are some horrible photoshops. No volume/silent switch on the one side, then the buttons are on the reverse side in the other photo?

When I placed my order I didn't select a shipping method I skipped to the code entry below it and after it accepted the coupon code free fedex shipping appears in the list and is automatically selected in addition to the 10% off ($5.00).

I used this Code: techbargains6100p

Placed my order 7/20/2010 little after 11am central with immediate confirmation email then tracking info email received 7/21/2010 around 10:30am central.

My order is in transit from Johnston, CO as of 7:46pm 7/21/2010 with a delivery scheduled for Friday 7/23/2010.

Here is how the emails should look:

Credit card good is:

Subj: Otter Products, LLC: Sales Order Confirmation #.

Shipped will look like this:

Subj: Otter Products, LLC: Cash Sale Receipt #.

This 2nd email will have the tracking #.

My CC still doesn't show a pre-authorized charge or a transaction charge yet but my available balance does reflect the amount of the purchase so I'm sure that will update anytime now.

This post is a melting pot of several posts I made in this thread as the order process completed to its current status. Hope this might give y'all some help about what to expect for your orders.

Found my info post from page 9 there ya go!!!

Otterbox came up trumps with my shipping. Ordered the evening of 20th, and it arrived very early today (23rd). Consider it was shipped to the UK, I found this to be awesomely fast delivery.

The case is brilliant. No problems with the camera hole/flash issue. Fits perfectly and I have no complaints!

Everyone with the Defender says there are no issues with the flash.

Maybe the image has just been reversed

Welllllll my shipping label was produced on the 21st and then bammmmm nothing. FEDEX said they don't have it, so I called Otter and spoke to someone who said most likely it got lost in the warehouse and never did ship. Then she had to redo my order, so who knows when I'm gonna get it. Kinda frusterated!!!

Well I fell like a big a*s... I had the same issue. But I ran out this morning and when I came home sure enough... A white box was at my doorstep. Love the case. Much smaller than I thought it would be. I just have like a weird grain effect on my screen. To to bad but I have a spg crystal screen protector on. I'm wondering if I should remove it??? Anyone else using a screen protector along with the defender's?

I have no additional screen protector but I still have the grainy effect so I think it is the Defender's protector that is causing your grainy screen.

I ordered one of these for my wife so she can just throw her phone into her purse without worrying about anything. Just testing it out on my phone now and I have to admit that this is a nice case. It adds some bulk but overall it's just slightly larger than a 3gs in a slider case.

I do notice that the screen isn't as silky smooth to the touch but overall I could live with it. The buttons are all very responsive. The cutout in the top for the headset jack is large enough for my Sennheiser headset which has a large square headset connector.

Really like the feel of this case in your hand. Very grippy.

Thanks for all of the comments!

I have a Zagg screen protector and the Apple bumper on my IP4, but I just can't get used to carrying it in my pocket (used a holster for a series of Blackberries for years), and I know I'll drop the darn thing every now and then. I don't want to add bulk, but I think that this is the only (and hopefully best) holster/protective case combination out there, and I'm looking forward to trying it.

For those waiting for theirs to ship, I ordered my Defender case from Otterbox late afternoon of the day it was released, using the discount code for 10% off and free FedEx shipping, and mine was just picked up by FedEx today. I got the tracking number yesterday. Hopefully here by next Tuesday.
