Got my tracking information (ordered on the 20th) finally!

Have to say that the Commuter looks pretty good, and if the Defender ends up being too bulky for me, I may have to give that one a try.

For those with the Defender, does the screen protector degrade the image quality of the Retina Display much?

The screen protector degrades it enough for me that I am contemplating taking it out. Seems fairly easy, then I won't have the grain and I will have much smoother feel on the screen.

Thanks for your opinion!

Removing Protective Membrane?

Not trolling here at all...serious question.

For those of you who are considering removing the protective membrane on the new Defender and those of you who did remove the membrane on the old Defender....

How much different is the protection of the Defender without the membrane and the Commuter? Is the Defender worth the extra dollars if I remove the membrane?

Asking because I love the Retina Display and degrading the display is a deal breaker for me.

Thanks

I ordered on the 20th though... it's been 3 days. I'll wait till Monday then and see if I hear anything.

Shoot them an email. I ordered on the 20th, but sent out an email when my card wasn't charged as of yesterday afternoon. Sent the email out, and coincidentally my receipt and tracking information was received yesterday evening.

I got mine today even though it said delivery was supposed to be Monday.

So far I really like the case a lot. Theres no "oil slick" as bad as the old defender. There is a tiny bit of it near the bottom but its hardly even noticeable, I think they did a great job on this case.

how do you think about the defender? Is it too hefty? I ordered one just to try it. I might order a commuter too, and use the defender for my mountainbike and snowboarding and all that kinda whatnot. Seems good. I'm kind of a case whore, so we'll see. ;)

I don't think it's too hefty. For some reason the 3G version felt heftier to me.
I could see using it quite often if not all the time, I'll see.

I'll probably end up getting a commuter too. I like using the Defender when I am on a construction site, mtn biking, or stuff like that.

Has anyone noticed if these are available in any AT&T stores? I know the ballistic cases were showing up in store before internet orders were going out. I suppose I'll go check tomorrow and if I'm successful ill just cancel my order.

You think like me. I want to use my defender at the car track like laguna seca and stuff. Its better.

Well I received the box that was supposed to be my case today. Turns out somebody screwed up and only thing in the packaging was the belt clip. I have emailed otterbox but have not received a reply yet. Must say I'm pretty bummed.

Wow! Fedex delivered Other than the exposed bits, the case is amazing. Centuries ahead of my old gen 1 and 3G case!

how did you guys got the tracking number for shipping? i got my order number but on the form the tracking number is empty. i opted for the 2 day fed-ex.

Changed my mind.

I'm a proud owner of the defender :D

Just installed my iPhone 4 inside it and man it looks good!!!

I'm not sure about using the belt clip it's freaking huge but I am happy with the look, feel and durability of the case.

I was going to take pics and give a review but others have already done it.

Well I have to say I was wrong about the belt clip. I took it to work and while at work it comes in very handy protecting my iPhone 4 and out of my way protected on my hip. So the Belt Clip for me just stays at work in my locker and I slip the iPhone in my pocket for everything else.

Ok I got my case and first of all... I love. Good job on this one Otterbox. The rubber is high quality that still allows for some slide so it doesn't grip my pocket too much. There is a slight bit of oil slick but it is hardly noticable at all.

I do have a question. I have a white spot on my screen that I can't seem to get off. It's very tiny and only noticeable in areas of high light. I can't seem to get it off so it must have gotten between the screen and the iPhone screen. Does this mean that it isn't completely closed off? I haven't removed the case to verify that it is indeed caught in between but it certainly looks like it.

Got mine in today. Install was very easy.

If used with a ZAGG invisibleSHIELD, the screen protector with stick to the iS.

There's no need for the iS anymore. I took mine off...

I got my case yesterday and I am liking it so far.

One problem I have seen with the case is there seems to be a little too much adhesive that holds on the builtin screen protector. When I removed the case to clean of a piece of dust that got under the protector I noticed it left a line of adhesive across the bottom of the iPhone screen. It came off fine with a little isopropyl alcohol but I would suggest if yours has this problem as well to try to clean some of it off before you put the phone in the case. The residue came off easy from my phone but it had only been on for a few minutes and might be harder to remove after being on the screen for an extended period of time.

I got my case today, well ahead of the delivery date of the 27th, and I am liking it so far.

It seems well-made, no screen problems and definitely looks like it protects my IPhone!

I got my iPhone 4 Defender today...

They did a nice job with the re-design. I like the new belt clip.

I did punch out the Otterbox screen protector. I have a invishield on my phone, and prefer to use that and avoid the oil blotching that other screen protectors have.

Now to see how well this stands up at work
