I received reply today with no cost replacement receipt however it shows USPS ground when originally it went fedex ground. Fedex ground arrived in two days I wonder how long USPS is gonna take.

USPS Priority Mail is usually pretty fast. I got mine within 2 days in Pennsylvania.

is it pretty thin enough for you? Thats still my only problem. I want to hope its not very hefty. I was considering ordering the commuter as a DD case sometimes when I only use the defender for my mountainbike and other stuff. Just to be safer. The iP4 is totally a piece of glass. It'll blow up.

i placed my order today, with overnight shipping fedex, yea i know $18 is a rip off but i need it asap! goin out of town in a week. How long has everyone been getting the case after placing the order? It says it may take a week to process. Still better then amazons 2 months! lol

Ordered mine on the 20th, it shipped the 21th and I got it the 23rd via USPS.

I'm pretty excited for my defender. I ordered it from Amazon, because it was cheap on there. $39 @ free shipping too. :)

Not wanting to rain on your parade, but it was for sale for sub $20 on Friday. Free shipping as well (if you added 5 more bucks of merchandise).

It seems completely random. I ordered mine the 20th, emailed tech support on the 23rd to see why it hadn't shipped and they told me it takes all orders 7-10 days to process. There's no guarantee you'll get it next week.

I should also note that I placed my order within minutes of receiving the email that they were available.

Maybe they had a limited quantity first batch and are expecting more to be ready a few days later hence the 7-10 processing time.

So, I really don't like the looks of the Defender, on top of the fact that it's so bulky.

However, I like the fact that these cases do offer great protection. I'm thinking of getting the Impact Series. It appears to be the thinest of the three. I'm just wondering if it will offer the same great protection that the Defender offers. Is anyone else planning on getting the Impact, rather than the Defender or Commuter Series?

i was considering it, but looking at the past models, it's not worth it. it's just thin silicone, with some ribbed edges on the inside. however, i think i want to get the commuter. it's apparently a lot thinner than the defender and provides amazing protection

Dude, If they could offer the same protection in the Impact, then who would buy the Defender.

The Defender is bulky because it protects... the Impact and Commuter not as much.

LOL! I guess that's true. You'll have to forgive me, as for some reason, my brain is just not engaging, today.

I still think the Impact will offer a great deal of protection. I don't do a lot of manual labor, so, I really don't think the Defender is necessary. However, I might have to wait and see once the other cases are released, what people think of them. I just wish they would hurry up and get the other two cases released, so we could get some reviews of them!

Thin? No. However, Due to the flat profile the case feels much more comfortable than my 3G Defender case. It's well made!

I agree, I actually thought this one was going to feel bigger and that I wouldn't like it. It's the complete opposite, I like the feel of this one much more than the 3G Defender.

This is my first Otterbox. I'm really happy with this case. I was wondering how long before the built in screen protector starts to get scratched up? I had the Ballistic case for 2 days and their screen was scratched up after a few hours. For those of you who had the Otterbox on their 3g's... how long did your case look new? Also if the screen protector does get messed up can you just order the front part of the case?

The screen shield on my 3G Defender looked almost new, I didn't use the case all the time though. It had some very very minor scratches but it held up well.

Also, Otterbox really stands behind their products, I had a couple small issues with my 3G Commuter case over time and they just sent me a new one, I would assume they'd do the same thing for the Defender if the screen shield got badly scratched.

I'm tied between the defender and the commuter, with the inner case of the commuter being silicone are you able to lift up the edges? I want the inside to be plastic like the defender but I want a slimmer profile!

Me too. I really want see real pics of the compact and commuter. I've already ordered my defender as a beast case for sports.

Anyone else getting a little of the oil slick effect? I am getting it at the bottom of my screen. It's not bad but I'm asking because I have a SPG Crystal clear screen prot. on and would like to see if thats why I'm getting it.
