I spent the night in my lab and did some research. I now think I understand the problem better than Apple. The problem has nothing to do with antennas, capacitance and signal attenuation. It is all about karma contamination.

Those who are having trouble with their iPhone 4 tend to be those who have contaminated themselves by watching Flash video and playing Flash games. Many of these games and video's were played and watched on Microsoft operating systems.

If you wish to prevent the signal loss, do not use Microsoft operating systems, install Flash blocker on all your computers and delete every Droid phone number from your phone book.

As much as id love to prop up the egos of the less fortunate, no I really didn't read your whole post. I don't read any of the fake "insider", imaginary conversations on this board because, frankly, they have even less value than anything people that post them would normally say. Don't feel bad, it's just a personal policy. Yours won't be the first or the last one I don't read.

You seem to really know a lot about me. What's my favorite color?

Blue. My first thought was green, but it is blue.

I don't think there are bridges big enough to accommodate all the trolls who've appeared on both sides since this issue started. Its riotous and oddly compelling.

The arguments are funny. Why not just wait a little while and see what Apple have to say. I'm pretty sure they know more about it than anyone else.

I'd like a software fix so I'm not tempted to return a wonderful piece of hardware which has given me absolutely no trouble.

Obviously Apple will fix the iphone. Do you think Apple is going to just sell all these iphones and not fix the problem? Whether its a recall or software fix, it doesn't matter.

And who here is telling you to get over it? I laugh when I see people make false declarations of others to justify their own rant.

A number of people. Here's one:

I hate how people feel it's their God-given right to use an iPhone. Apple already offers to buy the phone back from you at full cost if you're not happy with it, I don't see why they even need to hold this press conference. People need to realise that there are bigger worries in life.

So, before you accuse me of "justifying a rant," read the forums and see what people are saying. A number of people are making similar comments, and I have a response. Nothing to do with any ranting.

Hahaha, I laughed reading this. Best post in this thread. :D

Why wait 2 1/2 hours when we're all already experts on antenna design. Look through the threads. Apparently we've got it all figured out.

You want to know my qualifications on which thing I've stated was absolute fact?

Plus, you already know I live with my dad. Duh.

I was just taking a page out of your book, since your role appears to be asking people for their resumes, demanding what their qualifications are to make certain statements, and insulting them.

And I am willing to bet that you still live with your dad. I have this image of a 400 pound guy sitting in a lazy boy covered in duct tape with a dozen empty cans from the last known case of Jolt soda typing away all night on macrumors under the user name of tomccabe, angry at the world because he has no life.

Scary how accurate that is, isn't it?

THIS!

Again, what statements did I make pretending to be an expert on complex technological design? It's really annoying to have to ask things twice. If you'd read my book you'd know why those issues were raised in the first place.

I'd still like to see instances of two ATT devices being used in the same location with the iphone not able to make a call and the other able to.

Most of this is psychological I think.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on the share prices for the last couple of hours trading to see what effect the Apple press conference has on the market. This would be a pretty rapid indicator of opinion as well as reading the useful comments on the forums.

i've learned to deal wth att's crap service anyways. I don't use it as a business phones and pretty much all my calls are "i'm at the back of the bar, where are you?" "whats open at 3am? i'm starving." If i was actually making important calls I would go to a different network all together.

Wow, you really are thick. I never said you claimed to be an expert - you just assumed it was your civic duty to challenge everyone else on their expertise and qualifications. No issue with that - just the insults that seem to follow and the currently unjustified elitist attitude.

"It is amazing that after all these years no one seems to be able to grasp this simple concept. American people (and maybe just the human being) are very forgiving as long as you admit your wrong doing and admit the wrong doing sincerely, show remorse and put together a plan to prevent it from happening again."

The problem is that there is very little problem. For most people, the iP4 has fantastic reception. Better reception than a University of Oklahoma runningback. A very small percentage of users are having some problems. For those people, the problem is real. Many if not most of the people jumping up and down, making strange noises and dancing around like they just finished off two six packs then found out the line to the bathroom is two hours long have never touched an iP4.

Of the people who have had a problem, most just had the phone drop one bar for 10 seconds when they tried to squeeze the life out of it.

Rubbish, utter rubbish.

As soon as you admit something wrong, you'll be pounced upon by everyone world wide.

If apple says ' we would like to say sorry and admit the phone is not working properly' are you not going to get a replacement? are you going to say 'thats ok apple, never mind'.

Only the wifi signal has been an issue on my phone, and the software update has actually improved the speed.

Stop whining and get a grip.

Are you stupid? The man builds railroads. Railroads are much bigger than cellphones. If you can build railroads you can build cellphones. Have you ever even travelled on a train? It's fantastic.

I'm sure there is some real problem. But most of what I see is about number of bars. I don't see as much reporting of lost calls. I've seen some for sure. But my point is that the number of people currently not able to make calls over this issue is far less than the number of people complaining about their bars. This is of course because of location.

My point being that there are many people who, because of their location, probably wouldn't notice anything if it weren't so publicized. They would install the updates or do the recall and never have been actually affected by it. I'm not dismissing the problem.

I just want to take the opportunity to thank all the iPhone 4 beta testers (that's you, average consumers and apple zealots) for helping Apple figure out all the bugs with this new phone before I have the chance to buy it.

Though I'd love for my 3GS to have Facetime and a really cool Retina Display, I'm glad my phone works properly. :D

That being said, I'm curious as to what the final fix to all this nonsense will be.
