iPhone 4 Sold Out for Launch Day at AT&T and At Least Parts of Europe

Heh, my upgrade price is $599 for the 16GB version. I'm going to add an additional line to my family plan and get the 32GB version and then just put my other AT&T sim card in there.

How long does it take to get the e-mail from apple? I have the screen that says my reservation is confirmed for in-store pick up, but no e-mail yet. :(

WOW ... sold out ... cool!!!!

Oh ..... and if you want a white iPhone, why don't you wait until they are released?? It's only a phone after all. :D

That'd be a lot easier to do if the bastards gave us a clue when they'd be released.. or better yet, had told us it wouldn't be available sometime before we actually went to pre-order white. Apple is just as bad as AT&T anymore. They belong together.

Just ordered from S. Korea

I'm here on business, & it would appear that as long as you have a US based AT&T billing address, you can order an iPhone 4.

Interestingly, I was in a premium Apple reseller in the mall, & there was a local guy also ordering. He has relatives in the states & they're apparently giving him the hook up, so he can be the coolest kat in town.

I got it

So it went through, but Apple charged $252 and also 5 $1 transactions. Has anyone had anything similar to this happen?

And how long did it take for at&t customers? I still haven't gotten a confirmation email.

I was able to order from Apple at 6:15am PDT; got my confirmation email at 3:30pm PDT.

Did you try to pay for the phone five times? One dollar charges are temporary and just check the credit.

Went to the AT&T store today for my pre-order. Needed to have them adjust my early upgrade pricing to the $499 for the 32gb. This was around 11:30am this morning when the pre-authorization was put in. During that time, the stores entire sales system was offline and this was all done by writing down the information.

Just received this email at 8pm:

"AT&T - iPhone Wireless Order Confirmation

Dear Unseen Llama,

Thank you for ordering iPhone 4 from AT&T. Your device has been reserved. Today was the busiest sales day in our history. Because of the incredible volume of orders we received, there is a slight chance that some customers may receive their devices between June 25 and June 28. Rest assured, we are doing all we can to ship devices to customers for delivery on the 24th. You do not need to take any action at this point.

As soon as your device ships, we will send an email confirmation including a tracking number for your convenience. In the meantime, you can check the status of your order on our website at any time by clicking here or by calling our automated system at 1-877-782-8870."

I've checked order status and can see that the quantity ordered has been put in and no backorder numbers are there. Makes me feel a little better. Now I need to get my wife's order straightened out. Ordered hers thru the Premier site and has the nice ATTENTION in the processing line.

Logged in early was still problematic

I Pre ordered my IPhones just after 1 AM pacific time, shortly after the site announced the availability... even with the majority of the U.S asleep it took me about 10 tries to place an order... but it finally went through, and I did it again for my wife's phone... I knew after that experience once the masses awoke, it was going to be a NIGHTMARE...and clearly it was every bit of that!

For those of you who reserved one for pick-up and the Apple retail store, check your email confirmation for this line (located down at the bottom):

Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Seems to me this reserve thing for pick up at store means ZERO!!!! Don't get me wrong, I did reserve one, and got an email confirmation that it would be there (and the reservation would be held unitl end of business on the 24th), but I still think it means nothing.

Even you preorder, you get similar language about no guarantee and first-come-first-served. It's CYA legalese, nothing more.

The only thing I am angry about is the unavailability of the white iphone. The long delays for ordering are not a big deal, because I already knew it was going to be crazy. Anyway I placed my order for a iphone 4 16GB. I guess to me, in the end, the color is really irrelevant.

Now just waiting for a confirmation email from Apple.

Finally got my pre-order for delivery for the 32GB model to go through as well. Delivery date shows June 24. :D

Been trying since 6:30am PDT. :(

Sorry if this has already been answered, but can you still preorder at ATT's site for pickup at the store? Or is that sold out as well?

Got my 32GB Black in the cart and paid for about 10 minutes ago through Apple website. Says June 24th delivery date. Woo-hoo. It tried to get me to reserve at the Apple store, but I kept going back through the process until it brought up the choice of delivery method.

However, I can't do a port of my wife's number through the site, have to go to the store for that.

not sold out

I also just received confirmation that I have a June 24th slot for the 16gb black version of iPhone 4.0 for in [Apple Retail] store pickup.

I don't care what other people think. I'll have an iPhone 4 on thursday morning, and NO ONE ELSE in my entire building (work or apartment) will. That makes me feel good about ordering this morning.

How do you know they aren't going to the store at 7am and in that case that means they'll have it before you do. Make sure you let them know how more superior and important they are compared to you.
