Top this!

Oddly enough, an AT&T employee just showed up at my house confirming my order was processed. (He said at the store that he was going to call but must have forgot.) Kind of an odd occurrence.

Really? Well, Steve Jobs just left my house apologizing for the ordering delays. He said: "Feel bad man. Take mine." And gave me his iPhone before flying away in his jet. I will cherish this phone with all his contacts always.

Mine just went through for a reservation. Here's hoping I get a confirmation e-mail and then they actually have one for me that day. Not looking forward to waiting in line but that's the only option I had on the Apple website.

i went to best buy was in and out in no time.... but im still trying to go through apple store

Wow!! Today sucked

I was able to get in a pre order for my dad at 7:25 and I screen captured the confirmation screen.

It says delivers on June 24th and Apple has never let me down before so I can expect it that day I guess. I have to wait for it and sign for him as he'll be unavailable that day.

Though to be honest it is not letting me check the status of it in the Apple store now. That has me a little worried.

after about 30 attempts i finally was able to purchase mine for delivery..dont give up if youre still stuck.

Apple.com? Or the app? The app fails immediately after I enter the AT&T info. Website tries for a bit and then fails.

Apple main site seems to continue accepting order the only thing non of them goes through ... not losing my hope, dont want to try to order through att because I think they will have much lower stock number than apple... and if anything apple can always ship them from china.

What happens on June 24th? Those of us who have the confirmation email for reserved iphones on June 24th will be standing in line with everyone else. It doesn't matter that we have a reservation. There is NO ID or Number associated with the email. Therefore, we are all considered the same unless the Apple Store only sells to those with an email. The odds of that happening are slim. I have the email and I bet that I still wont receive my phone on the 24th.

Going through apple.com won't give me the option for delivery still. Does this mean all orders for shipping are gone? Sigh.

Still can't get through

Am I the only one that still can't get through to apple.com/store? I've been trying to pre-order all day and it keeps saying try again later. ****ing thing sucks!

I guess I'm going to wait and get the white one and pretend that's why I didn't pre-order. Somehow that makes me feel better.

Should I feel insulted?

So let me get this right. I am a good customer. Have been for years. Bought lots of things from them. Tried ordering at 05:15 this morning on my way to work. No joy. All day.. apologies. Still at 9:26pm, I cannot even get anything but errors.

And now I am hearing that they have sold out.

You know, the iPhone really works well but neither Motorola nor Verizon have played me before. Maybe it's time to revisit that Droid.

Yeah, I will live if I don't get an iPhone this month. I just think an awful lot of good customers were treated very, very badly today.

"Thank you for shopping at the Apple Online Store
Apple's Online and phone Order Status services are temporarily unavailable due to a scheduled upgrade to our systems.

We apologize for any inconvenience."

smooth...

I was one of many here at 3am CDT that jumped to try to pre-order as the updated store went live..

I gave up at 5am, when I *finally* was able to get all the way to "add to cart", and got the store down notice post-it twice.

I tried off and on from 9am to 3:45pm, when the order finally went through.

Still no confirmation email.

I just got my confirmation email for my order that went through about an hour ago on apple.com. Arriving June 24th.

As Fuster Cluck: The Pre-Order Edition winds down, I have to say it provided quite a bit of entertainment. I think Fuster Cluck II: The Activation Edition will be even better. :D
Cheers. :D

How do you sell out of pre orders? I thought the whole concept was to get an idea of how much product to produce so on the real launch date Apple would have enough.
That might be how it works when your pre-orders are done months in advance. The iPhone will be released into consumers hands in less than ten days. That's not enough time to start production and ship them to all markets.

Tell me why they are still in business? (and of course the same question can be asked about BP, Adobe... and the list goes on)
*YAWN* baseless fanboi opinions FTL. "Adobe makes Flash, Apple doesn't like Flash, therefore Apple must hate Adobe and therefore I hate them, too." I'd wonder if your dislike of Adobe has anything to do with Macromedia, Pagemaker being discontinued, etc. But I bet you have no reason to hate Adobe that doesn't involve Apple or the iPhone in some way.

Adobe as a company is actually very well managed. They keep executive numbers low, their CXO's make good paychecks, definitely, but they don't make the ridiculously inflated salaries many corporation heads make. They have a diverse collection of creative apps and aren't a one-trick-pony software company. Their file formats are industry standard because of popularity bred by good applications. Not bundling or back room deals like some other companies we all know. Some people say many of Adobe's creative apps are expensive, but those apps are meant for professionals who make their living with them.

I am seriously ***** OUTRAGED.. I spent HOURS online trying to pre order .. then at 10am went to ATT spent 2 HOURS there and pre order.. they did everything on paper.. now my status is BACK ORDERD i was there at 10 ***** AM.. i was one of the first and i am on back order.. i am going to cancel my order and just wait at an ATT store.

Finally got through on apple.com, after trying since the page went live last night. I hope launch day goes more smoothly than this.

Oops!

Are you KIDDING ME?!?! 14 hours of trying...FINALLY get to the screen where I enter my credit card (first and only time), and I get the great big "Oops!" Man.

Still wondering how can they sell out these things, if most of us can't even pre-order. I guess Apple must have ran into some production issues, thus no white phone either.

Ok, now I'm mildly nervous

I managed to order mine via the AT&T website this morning, and got a confirmation screen with an order number. However, I have yet to receive a confirmation email from AT&T. I'm worried that it didn't truly post in their system, especially since I can't seem to confirm the order on the AT&T website. :(

Success!

I changed my AT&T contact info slightly as suggested but that didn't seem to help. I then implemented a three browser approach, entering my info in each browser whenever the other timed out. The browsers:

Safari
Firefox
Chrome

And Firefox won! After one solid hour of this method, I finally got through to have it shipped to me. Had been trying on and off since 7:30 a.m. Central.
