Yes, I was searching for this option too. I liked to use the 2G network for extensive phone conversations etc... My battery drains quickly if I use the 3G network for basic tasks. I'm not sure if they will add it. :( I don't know why it was removed to begin with. Also, was this feature available to Verizon iPhone 4 users?

This is interesting. I've got ios5 gm on my 4 and it's there (and use it). I assume it still works on edge?

You said Siri is a bit off but I remember them saying something about her improving as she becomes familiar with how you talk. In other words, it's not optimal out of the box.

The 4S is much louder than the 4.

Can anyone else confirm this? This makes me very happy..

I can confirm. My 4S is much louder than my old 4.

It is nice and loud for listening to audio.

Quick, but some apps take a while to load. One app crashes where it didn't before.

Siri didn't work with Twitter (yet)

The white is quite attractive.

It's a little heavy coming from the 3GS.

I see the option on my old 3GS but not my Verizon iP4 (both on iOS5).

seems to be

When you take a photo and then crop it on the phone, when you import it into iPhoto, you can uncrop it.

that seems to be a good design, so foto app on the iphone persists with iphone on the mac, good job apple.

Trying siri in german and french, seems that it doesn't access wolfram alpha, so a bit of the utility in true other languages seems to be lost.

but everything else works fine. Nice to be able to have texts created in german and french on the fly without having to change keyboards.

As can I, I noticed it initially, but decided to check so I put up both my iPhone 4 & 4S next to each other and took turns playing audio. Not only is it louder, but it certainly sounds better.

Good question! As of now, it will be hard to test, but I assume it still works 'on the edge'.

Interesting. I thought the culprit is IOS 5, but if your Verizon IP4 does not have that feature: my theory is nonsense.

It is premature, but the battery life in my 4s is much improved when compared to a 3G.

You can also use the volume up button on the included headphones for a nice remote shutter release.

Very useful!!

Vibrate is actually different than my iP4. Test it out by rolling through Settings/Sounds and choose a different text message sound - each time it gives a short and then a long vibrate. Different than my 4.

volume wise i compared it next to my 3g and its WAY louder...

full volume on my 3g is just under half volume on my 4s! lol

also noticed you have to take the protective wrap off the back of the phone if you want to use flash otherwise it messes up your pic lol.. (at least i hope thats what it is:confused: )

Coming directly from android its quite a difference (first iphone).

The build quality is quite remarkable, this is be most quality feeling phone I've ever had.

The sync thing still confuses the hell out of me as I never know if i choose to sync if its going to wipe my phone. So basically I just do everything manually which i feel is probably limiting the usefulness of my phone as I also cannot then utilize wireless sync.

I desperately miss the "back" button. I've come to rely on it much more than i had anticipated. I'm already a bit annoyed at having to start over at the home screen all the time.

It's so fast... like wow... fast. The presentation of everything is pretty impressive, though that is an iOS thing i suppose. The reception is much better than my D-Inc.

Lol I bet it is! Mine surfs faster

Siri

Is there any way to get siri to LAUNCH an application or START the camera?

I have tried open camera, start camera, camera, take a picture (that one yielded the response "I'm not much of a photographer")

I have an AT&T iP4 running IOS 5 and I have the enable 3G option in Settings > General > Network. Is that what you're referring to?

It's so odd that it is gone for some people.

I gotta say, I thought it was gonna feel like I just traded my black iPhone 4 for a white one with more storage space but it doesn't feel like that at all. It does feel a tad bit heavier. It's super fast. That's what surprised me the most. I really didn't think I'd notice. iOS 5 is awesome too. I'm really happy with the phone.

-) Feels different in the hand, hard to explain, possibly lighter?

-) Siri is off by default

-) Locking the phone straight after using Siri results in an extremely loud locking sound!
- 3 grams heavier

- Because you restored from a phone that did not have Siri "enabled".

- Yeah, definitely a bug.

Is there still an option to turn off Cellular data? I use this to make sure i don't go over my 200mb a month.

i'm not trying to be all whatever. but i had a 4.. got a new 4s today.. people keep telling me their's is super fast, or lightening fast.. maybe i got a lemon, dunno but my OLD one is way faster..

AT@T models are the only ones that can do 2G. That's the Edge signal the original iPhone used. The Sprint and Verizon models only use 3G. This is true of the existing Verizon iPhone 4 as well. Hope that clears it all up.

still not there

But, it doesn't explain the fact that the toggle even on the AT&T phone is still not there.

Calendar, Reminders, Text Messaging all much improved in iOS 5

I still have some issues with how it deals with contacts. Also not happy I can't manually switch to EDGE.

Got it in a cheap OtterBox... it feels great!
