Polarized sunglasses cast a green tint on my 4S but not on my 4. Not sure if it has to do with the 4S being white or not.

My black 4S is the same. I get an ugly blue green cast. And it's made worse thanks to the power support anti glare screen, compared to my wife's 4S with no protector. My 4 didn't have any polarizing issues. Kinda bummed.

This is the only complaint I have about my iPhone 4S. My iPhone 4 looks normal when I'm wearing sunglasses but the 4S is bright green. I use my phone when I'm wearing sunglasses every day so it is a concern. I did notice that the black 4S at the store wasn't as bad as my white one. The black had a rainbow effect, which is still annoying.

-) Feels different in the hand, hard to explain, possibly lighter?

-) Steel band has a duller look to it, my iPhone 4 was shinier and smoother

-) Siri is off by default

-) There is no option to switch off 3G under network

-) The screen appears brighter and sharper than my iPhone 4 when set the same

-) The signal is not impaired by holding any corners

-) UK Siri has a male voice, this cant be changed

-) White looks gorgeous and fresh! :D

-) Locking the phone straight after using Siri results in an extremely loud locking sound!

Feel free to add your findings.

I thought the Iphone 4S is slightly heavier?

And why is it a male voice?

And are you serious about the 3G? Can it not be switched off? I have a pay as you go phone so it would drain my credit..anybody explain is there a way to get it off?

The fact that the antenna issue is 100% gone confirms the total BS that Steve hoisted on us during the IP4 early days. The phone was defective and he was simply doing damage control.

Not sure I understand. The 3G off/on was to disable 3G and keep 2G (EDGE). How does that have anything to do with your pay as you go?

Are you thinking of the Cellular Data switch? That is still there, you can turn off cellular data.

yes, I had to return my original iphone 4, since it simply dropped about 30% of my calls and I couldn't have that. With the new iphone 4s, I have had NO dropped calls and cannot make the bars go down no matter WHAT I do.

Good job apple, fixing it. Maybe a bit less so trying to spin the reality distortion field that it was a NON ISSUE.

I may be missing something but for some reason, whenever I get a text, the alert tone is played twice. It goes off when the text is received and then a second time, within 2 minutes, if I don't open the message right away. I looked through settings and didn't see anything that could be the culprit but I may have missed it.

settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert

you currently have it on "twice"

actually

settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert

you currently have it on "twice"

Actually I think having it set to ONCE produces the result he is describing. Turning it to none, means one gets ONE alert and NO REPEAT alert.

More of an iOS 5 thing but i'll add anyway:

They've changed the iPod app to the Music app and changed the icon on the app to a musical note.

I hate.

My 2nd Gen. iPod Touch running 4.2.1 has the music App you describe and not an iPod App.

Still hate?

No. People were holding it wrong. Now they've learned how to hold it right... :apple:

:p

I've been using my 32gb 4S for a day or so now.. I've noticed one thing when switching between apps, using sms or even browsing the net that the reception bars drop completely for literally a few seconds and then return!

Is this normal behaviour and has anyone else experienced this?? Im in the UK and on O2.

Loving how much louder the speaker is on the new iP4s!!!!

Also I can finally use my bluetooth device to work with voice controls...before with the iP4 I could only dial numbers....now with the same device (blueant Q1) I can work Siri just like I could not using the headset!! = So Happy!!

i noticed that the vibrate is a bit different... feels like it "fades" now

The vibrate is a huge improvement on the iPhone 4. It's slightly less powerful, but it's practically silent so if somebody calls you and it's in your pocket, nobody will hear it any more.

Have only had the phone a few days, and haven't used it on the train, but so far I have noticed a definite improvement in signal reception - 2G and 3G - compared with my previous 3GS. Its perhaps the most notable upgrade feature. Antennagate certainly made Apple focus on this aspect of performance!

I've noticed that if you tap the corner by the camera it sounds like something is loose/rattling. I mean I know its not but it doesn't feel quite solid. Just an observation not a complaint.

It was the same on my iPhone 4.

I've noticed that you are allowed to use Siri throughout various applications that you would have to type a message to like right now instead of having to type this post on the board I am dictating it and that is awesome

I too have noticed that the speaker phone and the volume seems a lot crisper if that makes sense and a lot louder to me definitely

I also noticed that I love the white color of the phone it's my first White iPhone after having all of the phones in black and I am so happy with my choice it makes it feel like it's a brand-new different device and it's clean and it's elegant I love it

What's with the little white, like plastic edge around the front screen glass thats wasn't on my black iPhone 4? There's like a lip now?

Not at all - he was saying it was ("was") an issue on ALL cell phones, including the iPhone 4...and in typical Apple fashion, they figured out how to fix that!! LOVE IT!

One thing that drives me crazy

So - I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue....

When going to listen to a voicemail - Siri interrupts it. The only way to listen to the voice-mail is to put it on speaker or turn off siri when you put the phone to your ear... at-least that I can see.

Am I missing something?

Has anyone tried asking Siri to read a message while the phone is locked? On my phone she will tell you who sent you a message but she won't actually read anything...then she'll say "do you want to reply or read again". Can someone confirm this? I think it's pointless at times if you have to unlock your phone everytime you want her to read to you.

I also like the custom vibrates and have setup different ones for different people. Is this ios 5 or iphone 4s specific?
