Forgive me for a possible stupid question, but even as a developer with access to beta firmwares, I don't see an official centralized point-of-contact method at Apple where we can provide direct feedback and issues with the firmware. Is Apple Support just actively reading forum posts, are people calling 1-800-MY-IPHONE, or going to the iPhone Feedback page (www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html)?

I suggested that Apple put a Feedback or Issues Form right on the device in Settings. That way, the device can instantly email to Technical Support with any crash logs or diagnostic information, right from the device. Of course, that suggestion, too, went unacknowledged.

iphone 4s is BS top to bottom and should never have been made.. we all wanted iphone5 and now karma is killing apple..

4 million units sold in two days and over 40 million projected by end of this quarter (they'll do it) is pretty damn good karma.

Not even "antennagate" stopped the iPhone 4. This won't stop the 4S, that comes with Siri, to top it off.

Occasional static for me too, but definitely get an echo like I'm talking in a drum whilst on the headset, also looking forward to an update to address battery performance. Other than that I'm still happy that I upgraded from the 3GS.

I think everyone's phones that are having these issues were made either on a Friday afternoon or a Monday morning. And all the coffee pots were broken in the plant.:)

Hmm,haven't had any of these issues. I've had some faster than normal battery drainage and also once my data would not work till I rebooted the phone (Showed 4 bar 3G signal and activity indicator, but would not load twitter or any web page I went to.)

By the way, for people asking if it's a problem with the carrier, each of these issues have been confirmed on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. It is NOT a carrier issue!!!

Every iPHone model has some defect now.

Apple has to get its act together.

All the mess-ups in the professional division (Mac Pro problems, Final Cut X launch problems), and now even the gadget division has problems.

At this price level this must not happen.

It looks like Apple tried to release the iPhone 5, it didn't work out, so they took a few features designed for the iPhone 5 and crammed it into the 4 and called it 4S.

Let's hope Apple get its act together. It wouldn't be the first company who grew extremely fast, overexpanded in product launches, and then had to take severe blows.

Two points:

1. Satisfy Apple's core clientele: the professional users by no longer keeping them in the dark.

2. Satisfy regular consumers by not delivering products that have battery problems, antenna problems, connection quality problems.

Did you say the same thing about the iPhone 4 w/ "antenna gate"? Just wondering. It seems many here only want the nonexistent phone and despise out of hand whatever the current model is. I'm sure when the iPhone 5 is released people will be decrying it because it's not the iPhone 6.

But sales do talk and loudly. I don't see Apple being killed any more than it was during "antenna gate." The iPhone 4S is the best selling phone EVER. I wish my bad karma was so good.

I've got news for you guys. It's not just when using the headset. My wife and I both purchased iPhone4Ss and occasionally (1/20 calls) at some point during the conversation, I can hear myself, everything I say, talking back to me an instant after I say it - at a horribly loud volume level. Once this has occurred, it will not correct itself without ending the call and calling the person back.

It usually occurs when traveling - so I thought it might have to do with the dual antennas and switching towers... Don't know but it's very annoying.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

No problem here, And I've spent 1 day 3 hours taking on my 4S already.

YES . . . Definitely Audio Issues!

I've definitely had echoing, static, and distortion on my new iPhone 4s. I never had these issues with the 4, 3gs, or 3g. It's not consistent. Sometimes it starts at the beginning of a call - sometimes it starts a few minutes in. Usually you can unplug the ear phones and it stops. The Apple store gave me a new set of earphones, but it made no difference - same problems. If a software patch doesn't fix it soon, I'll be heading in for a replacement.

I've recently started experiencing this effect on my iPhone 4. Are you on ATT or other carrier. I'm on ATT, so wondering if this is just a coincidence that its happening same time as 4S is released or maybe it's a problem with iOS 5.

How did you deduce this? The media speculated what the next iPhone would look like and created the hype. Apple never stated anything about the next iPhone. You make it sound like at the last moment Apple had to scramble to come out with the next iPhone due to the "iPhone 5" not being ready. The iPhone 4S is the iPhone 5. Only certain people in Apple know what the next iPhone after 4S will look at. And this has been the case with the 4S and every iPhone before that.

My previous IP4 worked fine on my Parrot bluetooth, the 4S shows calls as started on the timer but no audio though the handsfree.

Even after switching back to iPhone and disconnecting bluetooth there is no audio, a reboot is needed to gain audio back,

A little annoying.

I got an unlocked iPhone 4S from Australia, and I'm really having none of these issues I've been reading about (not to rub it in or anything).

I haven't had any of the static issues mentioned in this article, nor have I had any battery problems. In fact, my battery performance has been great.

The only thing I'm a little bummed out about is that the screen is much warmer than my iPhone 4's screen is, which is a bummer. I really liked the 'cooler' screen.

If you mean the screen is a warmer COLOR then your old iPhone, you need not worry, it will "cool" down shortly with use.

Here's the thing

I think this is a consequence of a faulty install. Something left behind the wrong caches, or misconfigured things, when you upgraded to iOS 5. I escaped it, totally, because I had encrypted my backups with the same ol' standard security password, and I must have mistyped it, because I couldn't come up with the password. So I installed a "new iPhone" installation on my iPhone 4. Result: no problems. Yes, I did notice that I made a location reminder and that lowered my battery to maybe 10% less than usual for 2:00 in the afternoon, so until the update, I'm laying off them, but on the whole iOS 5 has been just a new installation of an OS that is very GOOD on the battery; all I had to do is remember passwords and user names, tweak the settings, etc. Inconvenient, but otherwise a gas.

I leave this as a suggestion for those who are having hinky troubles.

Is there a Parrot app? A driver update or something?

Yes, AT&T.

Apple is constantly pushing the performance edge with their products and much of what you find as a negative is a result of having the latest, greatest thing. Apple can test their phones all they want, but it isn't until it is in the "real world" that some things become evident. Apple has always taken care of the problem. They don't rush out a half-baked solution, but they do solve the problem when they do come up with a solution.

Professionals, who must rely on a phone to do their business, generally don't buy the latest thing. That's why I don't have an iPhone 4S. If you want to be a pioneer with a new product as soon as it is released, then don't complain about the rattle snakes in your bedroll.

With Jawbone Era Bluetooth I have had some echo and slighty broken calls - as if the phone had a loose wire - can't think of a better way to describe it.
I have not noticed these issues on the phone alone, just on the Jawbone.
iPhone 4S on Rogers.

I'm starting to think I got the only functioning 4S in the world. No battery problems, no yellow screen, no audio problems, wifi sync works flawlessly, No camera problems etc. Here's hoping it stays the course.
