Hi, everyone!

Although I just registered, I've been following the forums and discussions for quite some time.

Even though a lot of people are reporting about iOS 8 even on the iPhone 4s, I can't seem to get a clear information on specific:
Is Handoff (accepting/starting calls and SMS on Yosemite-Mac) supported for the 4s or not? Can anyone confirm this with Beta 5? Some people claim it is supported, others say it isn't (even review-videos of Beta 5 on iPhone 4s skip this issue) ...

Thanks in advance for any replies!
Best regards,
VSG
I just wiped my 4s and gave it to my mother, but prior to that, calls to my 4s would show up on all my iOS8 devices and Yosemite.

I could make calls from my laptop and iPad.

Now, I don't know if I could hand off an ongoing all to another device. I didn't test it. But I definitely used my mac to make and answer calls from my 4s.

Thanks for the info! That's great news. :)

I did a clean install the other day of Beta 5 and still only managed to get 2hrs of usage out of it. I reverted back to 7.1.2 it was super annoying and I hope it won't be like this once the GM is released.

I've seen some videos of the 4S running beta 5 and looks quite good actually. I'm sure the final release will be very smooth and a joy to use.

Did a bit of everything today.

It doesn't look that bad.... certainly not as bad as the 4 on iOS 7. Have you tried with motion and transparency off?

No, definitely not as bad as the iphone 4 and yeah, increase contrast makes the lag go away but that shade of grey on the dock is really ugly. I will just keep my 4s on 7.

Yeah its annoying they changed the dock and folder colours changed to that weird shade with iOS 7.1 :/

I wish I knew how iOS 8 ran on an iPad 2 :p

Even my retina mini lags on ios 8 so...

My 4S (set up as new phone) on iOS 8GM has lagging issues right out of the blocks. Also, home button issues; click once and it brings up multi tasking, and so on.

Not impressed.

Just updated the phone to iOS 8 GM. Launch week 32 gig iPhone 4s.

Responsiveness-wise it is same as 7.1.2. No complaints what so ever.(of course I wouldn't call it blazing fast but my 3G wasn't even usable after it was 2.5 years old) Only thing I noticed thus far is the battery drain increase. I'll find out more about it as time progresses. iPhone 4S still is the best phone ever made by Apple although I probably will upgrade to 6.

BTW I can't believe people are reporting extreme lag issues etc. Was my 4S' build quality the best did it get the best thermal core out of foxconn or what?

>> knocks on wood.

NO, you just can't notice the lag.

So are you suggesting I got numb to my phone's slowness over the course of 3 years? May be... Maybe I'll be amazed at how fast iPhone 6 will be but honestly I just don't get how an extra half a second to launch an app improves my life. Back when my 3G was due a refresh opening an app took sometimes more than 30 seconds. Now, if I didn't want extra features and could just settle with whatsapp, instagram, snapchat, phone and camera features or if I couldn't afford a new iPhone I definitely see myself using the 4S til 6S comes out.

As always; full restore + set up as new iPhone = the best experience.

There was a little lag at first because I was downloading all my apps, all my songs and all my photos at once but once it finished, everything was as smooth as 7.1.2! Green light from me, guys, update! :)
