iPhone 5 Available to ship:2 weeks / Delivers Oct 5

Shipping Estimate

To all waiting patiently for the iPhone 5, Apple estimate is again a rough estimate. They won't change it even as yours might changed to "preparing for shipment" or charged your credit card. You can check UPS or Fedex for most accurate shipping estimate. If it doesn't come up, Apple will give you an email with a tracking number when UPS or Fedex notifies them of the shipment.
 
I was able to order two phones 47 min into the pre-order on the Apple site.

1 -32GB White
1- 64GB Black

Both AT&T

Order showed Sept 21st delivery during ordering.
Confirmation email didn't show delivery date, just order processing.
Status changed next day to delivery Oct. 5.

32 GB just changed to the 'Preparing for Shipment', but still Oct 5 delivery.
64 GB still processing and Oct 5 delivery date.
 
I have this weird feeling that they will not ship out the 10/5 orders until next week, so that they can weed out any that successfully gets them in stores tomorrow and over the weekend.

They'd deal with less returns that way.
 
Hoping at least one of us gets "shipped" notification today.
WE WANT OUR ********** IPHONE 5! :D
 
Wonderful news here from everyone. Hoping to see some similar movement tonight on my order as well. Ordered 64GB Back/Slate AT&T at 5:25 am ET on the 14th. Still shows processing and no charge to my card.

I don't think I've ever wanted to see my card get charged $400 so bad in my life :)
 
I almost wondering if they are shifting people to the preparing for shipping to prevent people from standing in line tomorrow, getting phones and then canceling pending orders online. I love a good conspiracy theory

As of now the next wave are starting to be processed/shipped. From this forum alone I think 3AM - 6AM EST/1AM - 4AM PST are being processed. I think yours might come early october as many preorders are still between you and other people who ordered earlier.
 
status changed.

My status changed sometime this afternoon. It is "preparing for shipping" and they charged my card the full amount. So now I can't cancel my order tomorrow and go on the hunt for phone . Deliver date is still October 5th. Now this sucks. I felt confident I would be able to find a white 32 gb this weekend somewhere. I was going to find it, cancel my order, "shop" for accessories until my cancellation went through, and then buy it. Perfect plan shot to s***.

Apparently it takes 5 days for carriers to reset their contracts for people so they can again buy for discounted price. Source: Apple Store Chat Not sure if this is true as Apple Store Chat people is the lowest of all ranks of Apple customer service.

I guess a lot of people are getting the black iPhone on this thread? Not to get too off topic, anyone concerned of the black finish wearing off? I might just get a case.
 
I've got "Preparing for Shipment". My card was charged today.

Ordered at 10:34a EST (What can I say, I like sleep).

Maybe I'll get it next week some time instead of Oct 5!
 
Sweet, it changed to preparing for shipment for me too following those two emails from AT&T! Here's to hoping for a tracking number soon.
 
Glad to see some movement here for us early October guys. Always a good sign, unfortunately it looks like it's mostly AT&T orders. Leaves me feeling a little sour.

This wait is driving me crazy, I just want to see some movement!
 
I'm still showing "processing" with an October 5th delivery date. Ordered the white 32gb AT&T at 5:40am EST. Also, still no charge on the card.

I was thinking about stopping into an AT&T/Walmart/Target during lunch or on my way home but with my luck I'll get the "preparing for shipping" the same time the guy at the store says he has some in stock :eek:

But could the upgrade eligibility from the pre-order be transferred when buying it in the store? I've read that it can take several days for a carrier to reset eligibility after an apple.com cancellation.

Processing for me too. You're not alone.
Remember Apple has to process hundreds of thousands of orders. Might just take some time.
