iPhone 5 Available to ship:2 weeks / Delivers Oct 5

Anyone order an AT&T white and got preparing for shipment yet?? Seems mostly black ones so far itt
 
My 64GB White and 16GB Black just got updated to Preparing for Shipment also got two emails from AT&T "welcoming" me.

EDIT: And my card was charged!

By changing our status to "preparing for shipment", Apple is avoiding a MESS with all the returns they would have to handle. So we will be in "preparing for shipment" for a while and they will probably deliver the phone a few days early - just to shut you up.

Darn good products though and it is exciting to wait for this phone - all part of the Apple world.
 
Mine was a white 32 gig AT&T ..... Ordered them back to back but only one is preparing so far
 
I'm still going to try to get one tomorrow morning at my AT&T store...I figure I can always sell the one I pre-ordered for a profit. :)

That's the benefit of paying for a bunch of lines on a family plan...I always have a couple with upgrades available.

What returns? Wouldn't people who got a phone tomorrow just cancel the order?
 
2 16gb black phones ordered minutes apart around 8am 8/14. Had one pending charge show up tonight and one went to preparing for shipping, the other is still processing. Weirdly, the one that is preparing was the one ordered second!
 
went to cancel my order and take a shot at getting a phone over the weekend and low and behold I'm preparing to ship (32GB ATT)

Kinda takes the fun out hunting for a phone this weekend but hopefully this means I'll have my phone by next Friday.

What time did you order?
 
Check your credit card/bank accounts. While mine doesn't show a hold, there's a discrepancy of exactly $299 between what I have and wht I should have. Looks like this is what pre-orderers with launch day deliveries had 3-4 days ago between when their accounts showed holds and actual charges just before shipping. *Fingers Crossed*
 
Now I have one preparing for shipment (ordered 2 black 32gig back to back on the 14th at 5:40am). Funny enough, it is the one that was ordered second, which has a lower order number (not that they are sequential, necessarily).

I ordered right after midnight PST, ATT servers were slammed so I got a reservation, got the email at 6am to complete my order and I've been Oct 5th since then.

I ordered almost the same time as you assuming it's EST. Hope mine changes too.
 
Just checked: ordered around 11AM PST and status is now "preparing for shipment" with Oct 5 as the delivery date. AMEX pending charge.

Change is good and I'm still hopeful that I won't have to wait until 10/5!
 
In 6 hours another UPS plane will take the same route from China - Seoul, Korea - Anchorage, AK, USA. A small chance our iPhones will be boarding?
 
Anyone been able to track by reference yet? Probably not since this has only started happening in the last few hours but I'm curious if anyone has checked it.
 
Just got a charge from apple. Says its an authorized fund on hold but my account shows $200 less. Still processing on the apple site, hopefully that changes soon
 
My order is still "processing" but I was just charged for my Verizon black 16GB iPhone5. Estimate is still Oct 5th. Hoping things come sooner! Originally ordered at 10am est on the 14th
