It seems there is no way to get it before Oct.
It is already Tues and still no charge on card.
So disappointment..:(

People, you will not get it on the 21st. However, there is a chance that we may still get them in September. It is only the 18th.. For all we know, they may ship out on friday or next monday and get here next week. Just relax, there is nothing you can do about it. They only charge the card when it is shipped.

Verizon web site does not jive with email. I ordered phone online saturday and got email confirmation of October 5th delivery. However, tracking of order on Verizon says shipping October 5th.

IMHO the Oct 5th crew will ship early next week, oh well I'll just have to be patient.

That would be great. At least the eBay InstantSale folks provided for an October 1 "postmarked by" deadline. Now, facing only 5 days without a phone as a opposed to 3+ weeks.

Seems like October is most likely. It would be nice if Apple was more specific with what the situation was.

They should have stopped pre-orders after their release day stock was gone.

Agreed. I stayed up till 4am to get my phone 2 weeks after its released?

I'm not sure about that, to be honest. I don't think our phones could roll off the production lines until the end of the week -- or at least be in the states by the end of the week.

I'm assuming every phone manufactured up until Tomorrow is going to to cover the first hour's worth of pre-orders and store stock. I'd also bet heavilly the priority for Apple isn't filling the October 5 pre-orders (they've made a promise to us that's when we'll get it, and we agreed to those those terms), but instead are going to cover walk-ins at stores.

I doubr highly our pre-orders will budge much off October 5. MAYBE October 1.

they want you to line up in front of the Apple Store, its obvious that pre-orders were not a priority.

I've considered canceling my pre-order and getting in line but then I snap back to reality and realize I can't stand waiting in line :D

If that many are going to stores, you really might be able to just go in to Apple/ATT/Verizon after the lines are gone.

I can handle waiting a couple hours in line at the most. I have Friday off, so I'll pull by the Apple store around 6am and see what the line looks like. If I'm able to get in it early, I can cancel my Oct 5 pre-order while I wait

It does kind of spook me that all sizes and both colors have the same esimated 2-3 ship date and that so many have Oct 5 as our delivery date. When the iPad 3 came out different models had different availability dates. It kind of makes me think that the Oct 5 date is more of a guess . . .

SO MANY have the Oct 5 date. Someone who ordered YESTERDAY has an Oct 5 date. And thats what makes me think that something's up.

Spoke to an employee at the AT&T store on Madison Ave here in NYC. So it seems like it would be a pretty busy store but he told me they are getting a small shipment and I'd be better off just waiting till Oct 5.

Idk, Im still torn.

Up until this morning I had a Delivers Oct 5 date. It has now changed to Delivers 9/21. Order confirmation received at 3:54 a.m. EST on Friday the 14. Still says processing though

I also got my confirm email at 3:54 through Apple and still processing. Yet my delivery date has always been Oct 2nd. Weird.

It's at 2-3 weeks, which is the same as my lighning cables with a delivery of October 5-12. What I think happened is people saw the two week slippage and decided to go wait on line.

Got my order confirmation at 5:40am CDT. Oct 5 delivery :( Hope to see it pushed up - if even one day! I'm leaving on the 5th and UPS and FedEx have a bad habit of making deliveries late and I'll be leaving around 3pm...with my luck, they won't deliver till I'm gone.

I ordered a 32GB, Black, AT&T model.

I am planning to go to Verizon on Friday - have a friend that is grabbing me one off the UPS truck and considering jumping ship to Verizon, since they have LTE here and AT&T doesn't have LTE in my entire state! Service is also much better around here, so it may be worth it to pay a little more for reliable service and LTE! I am going to grab the Verizon model...try it out for a week or so (with a different phone number) and if I decide to stay with Verizon, I'll cancel or return the AT&T order and pay the ETF. Otherwise, I'll return the Verizon phone and stick with AT&T.

I got up at 4am too..for nothing. I also agree that pre-orders should have been stopped once they were out..And they coudn't have had much stock if they ran out so fast. I think they were frontin' and wanted people to think they had more produced more phones than they actually had. I guess they really did have a manufacturing problem and were trying to cover it up.
