iPhone 5 Available to ship:2 weeks / Delivers Oct 5

I think this is important to note:

I ordered two iPhones. 32 and 64 AT&T Black. The 64 was ordered at 4:38 am EDT and the 32 was ordered at 4:40 am EDT. The 64 went to Prepared for Shipping first about 24 hours ago. The 32 went to Prepared for Shipping about 16 hours ago.

Overnight (I checked when I woke up), the 32 shipped. Here's the info:

ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2012 8:38 A.M. Origin Scan UPS WORLDWIDE EXPEDITED

A couple of minutes ago, the 64 shipped. Here's the info:

Notice that the 64 ACTUALLY shipped first.

Everything will get to you in time.

Actually, you didn't pay for anything last week. You don't pay for a preorder until its prepared to ship. I understand the frustration. I'm waiting too. But, you did have an entire week to cancel your preorder and the choice to stand in a line instead. If you didn't choose to do that, then the onus is on you, not apple.
 
I ordered a black 16GB from the Apple Store at 7:12 AM EST on September 21. When I ordered the estimated delivery time was 2 weeks. A few days later, when using the "track order" feature, it gave me a delivery day of October 5.

Yesterday (9/21 some time around 3 PM) my order moved from "Processing" to "Preparing for Shipment." This morning I woke up (it's around 7 AM here) and my order has shipped. UPS only has the origin scan. Haven't received a shipping email from apple yet.

Just wanted to give some east coasters who didn't stay up until 3AM some hope. I will let you know when it arrives.

edited to add: I'm on the AT&T network. Moments after I posted this I received an email from Apple notifying me that my iPhone has shipped. The email says that it delivers on Sept. 28.

Mine sat preparing to ship all day yesterday. Woke up today to shipped with a 9/28 arrival. 32gp white from Apple.
 
Woke up to a shipped status! WOOT WOOT! Looks like based on everyone else it should get here the 28th, which is my birthday, so a happy birthday to me indeed!
 
Just tossing my hat in. Shipped at 545am EST. Ordered 16 gig black at&t. Woohoo. Seems time zones may be a factor. Oh well this week is way better than 10/5!
 
Looks like its 9/27 for me, I used an app and it seemed as if it was in the USA already. Not so. See you Thursday iPhone.

I am hating this, I ordered at 11:30ish on the 14th and I got my confirmation e-mail for the 26th and have had absolutely no updates, no credit card action, no tracking or anything besides its saying "We received your order and it is in process" im getting frustrated and if I visit a Verizon store today and they have one I am going to cancel my preorder and get one.

Well I would like to give some information to people who are seeing their shipments intended for October 5th is now been shipped.

So on the 14th, I ordered 2 AT&T 32GB iPhone 5 and 1 AT&T 16GB iPhone 5. Two days ago, my 16GB iPhone got shipped meanwhile one of my iPhones were labeled 'Preparing for shipment' and the other 'processing item'. This morning, the one which was labeled 'Preparing for shipment' has shipped meanwhile my other iPhone is still 'processing item.' The 2 iPhones that have shipped are expected to be here by September 27th by the end of the day.

This morning, I called Apple to find out about the other iPhone. The Apple rep told me that for now it stays at processing item and delivers October 5th. However, it can change because what the company is doing is assessing the orders placed by customers before the iPhone became available in store who cancelled after they either received the iPhone yesterday or do not want it at all. If your order was for the 5th and changed to be shipped by September 27th, you're getting an iPhone that someone cancelled.

I think people should know of what Apple is doing to get people their iPhone as soon as possible.

Anyone have their iPhone labeled 'processing item'?

Why are you so angry? Everyone is on this forum because they are really excited about a new product they ordered and paid for - with some people paying hundreds of dollars. In this case, yes, we are entitled to receive what we ordered and paid for as a PRE-order - not a back order. People are upset because they ordered something with the expectation that if they did not pre-order, they would not be able to get the item without waiting on a long, long line or would not be able to get it at all. People are annoyed and feel that the company they are paying a lot of money to was not forthright about the ordering process. These are legitimate feelings. If this is so upsetting to you, why are you even on this thread?

My order for a black 64gb AT&T iPone also shipped with a new arrival date of September 28. I placed the order at 4AM EST on 9/14 and had the October 5th delivery with a status change occurring yesterday.
 
64gb, black, Verizon, shipped 4:46am 9/22 from Zheng Zhou. Est delivery 9/28.

First time my Apple products have arrived via UPS that I can remember. FedEx used to get it here earlier. I wonder if UPS can pull that off?
 
I was in the 2 week bucket as well. I ordered about 3:15am CST time.

It went preparing for shipment last night. I got a shipment confirmation this morning. Origin scan in China, delivers the 28th!!!

Shipped while I was sleeping (got email at 7:20 AM Eastern today) from China. "UPS Worldwide Express". Email says delivery by 27th

You thinks thats bad, on the confirmation email it says will receive by October 5th. Web site says ships on October 5th. Big difference. So either i will receive it on that friday, or sometime the following week. Sheesh. Yea, no further updates either and no deduction noted on my CC.
 
Preordered 2 32gb iphone 5s at the att store on 9/14 and its still processing:/ I really do hate att!

My credit card hasn't charged yet as of this morning according to my CC web site, and it is already with UPS in China.

I got a status about Sept 27 (vs the Oct 5 before then). Now, nothing shows estimated delivery date. apple.com. ups. Guess it gets here when it gets here. UPS has no incentive to keep it in their system.

Are you sure it was Worldwide Express and not Worldwide Expedited? It's two different services. With Express being faster.
 
I'm betting the phones of us second-batchers will be on UPS 59. It appears to be their Sunday Hong Kong to Anchorage flight and is presumably scheduled to leave in about 3 hours.

I had the same problem. You may have to be logged into a free UPS My Choice account to be able to find it by reference.
