Thanks, now that I've logged in I can find it by Reference Number. Both my Phone Number and Order Number - 2 are listed.

I signed up for a free account but still can't find either order by phone or reference #.. And I even have a tracking # for one phone

I can see the serial #'s of both of my original 10/5'ers now in Apple- My Support Profile now too! Both now scheduled to deliver 9/27.

Got a tracking number for 16gig but 32 gig has been preparing for shipment since Thursday night wth... 16 gig was preparing for shipment for about 4 hrs and went to shipped

I've been in preparing to ship status going on 36 hours now with no CC charges... Ordered a 32gb black on 9/14 between 5-5:30am... I think what some of these people who say we are spoiled or don't deserve this phone because we are impatient are forgetting is the most important thing... People who pre-ordered the phone via Apple's website that had times well into the mid-late afternoon on 9/14 have serial numbers, tracking info, and shipping progress! While people like myself who ordered 1 hour after pre-orders sold out are in limbo... Basically what I think everyone wants to see is consistency in Apple's pre-order progression of filling orders!

What I'm saying is that yes the wait sucks, but when you're waiting in a "line" it's never fun or fair to see people jumping ahead of you! It's not about being spoiled or whatnot, it's about first come first serve... And what Apple has done is basically let their Chinese factories process these shipments in whatever order they feel or however it is that they seem so random!!

As a lover of my iPhone I have no problem with the wait... What I would just like to see/know is A pattern, and something that makes sense to the people who pre-ordered! It shouldn't be that people 4am-6am have to wait for those who ordered 5-6 hours after them are getting the same exact models of phones... I think that is all anyone on here would ask for! Mine said Oct 5th when I pre-ordered & I clicked continue which was on me... But the randomness at which the products are being shipped is what falls on the side of irking what's fair/not fair not the being privileged or spoiled or entitled...

they could have gone the extra mile and upraded the shipping to a faster speed....

Exactly! They have done ZERO to fix their issue because they knowingly did this! All the morons talking about people being spoiled are idiots. Pre-ordering is so you can get the phone the day of launch WITHOUT waiting. Its not so you are gauranteed a phone. They wanted record numbers for this phone. They used the "pre-order" sales to do this when in reality half of those are false because they havent techincally sold the phone.

See I can say id agree if they did do something special for the people who "pre-ordered" because we are the people who obviously support and want their products... Not saying that they have to or owe it to us... But just that it would be a nice gesture to those who were so loyal as to pre-order so aggressively on day 1 & hold onto those pre-orders through delivery... Again not saying we should be entitled to or deserve it, just saying it would be a nice gesture on their part

I'm getting stuck in this limbo. I wonder if it has something to do with using debit card instead of credit. Did you use a debit or credit card? Order not moving either way. Even when using debit as a CC, you can see the available balance change immediately typically. weird.

Im so mad that i actually want to blow this up an make it a bigger deal and have some one call apple out on this.

UPS is finally processing my package (added weight, shipping address, etc.) Still no reference numbers yet.

Edit: departure scan now too

I have both a black 16GB and White 16GB in the same scenario! "Preparing for shipment" since 4 yesterday, originally ordered at 4:05 on 9/14

Wow, that sucks more then anything. Preventing you from cancelling is crappy...moving your date forward 3 days and THEN preventing you from cancelling is even worse.

I was also one of the ones moved from an Oct 2nd to an Oct 5th date yesterday. Luckily, it pissed me off enough to cancel my order around 2pm and just go to the Apple Store, where I snagged my 16gb white on Sprint yesterday. Looks like I missed the bullet by two hours on being unable to cancel.

I hope you guys get yours sooner then the 5th!

Still nothing D:

I was in the October 5th crowd as well. Mine wasn't yet preparing for shipment, and when I went to the Apple store today there was no line and plenty of stock. I canceled my order in the store and picked one up.
I can see the frustration that people have. I ordered less than three hours after preorders started. It seems weird that it hasn't shipped yet, but anyone can just go in to an Apple store and pick one up.

I called in today to see what I could to about shipping. I talked to the guy and let him know that the Oct. 5 date is starting to be shipped out/that our orders are changing to Preparing for Shipment. He did confirm this, but he said that it's going to be shipped to the Fedex closest to my state, California (I'm in Texas, what? Why isn't it shipped to my Fedex down the street?), and then the delivery time will be about 5 days, thus the Oct. 5 date. So from China to California, one week (? I've read differently), and then from California to Texas, about 5 days (should be about 3 in my opinion and from past experience with ordering). So yeah, I'm looking at a delivery date between the 1st and the 5th, depending on when my tracking information arrives- which will hopefully be today.

Yeah mine is a debit card... I didn't choose to use it as such, but it is a debit card... So yeah maybe that does have something to do with the way these things are processed?

I had planned on doing this today as well. But when I woke up my order had moved to "preparing for shipment" so guess I'm out of luck. I'm sad that I don't have my phone, but lesson learned. I will either preorder the second it goes live next time or skip preordering and get it in a store a couple days later...

My delivery date just got changed from Oct. 2nd to Oct. 5th and status changed from Processing to Preparing for Shipment, so I can't cancel now even if I could find one in a store. Bummer.

I'm thinking next release (probably iPad mini), I'm going to skip the pre-ordering and just go wait in line at the store. They had plenty of availability at my local Apple Store yesterday.

I agree. When I talked to the rep and hinted at changing the shipping to priority he said "There's nothing we can do because we're trying to get them all shipped out at once." That makes no sense. Some of the Oct. 5 people haven't even been updated to Preparing for Shipment yet. I would really like to see some consistency, too.

Credit authorization hit last night and went prepared to shipment

Ups tracking doesn't show anything yet.

Even though it says "Standard Shipping", I would not be surprised if the actual delivery is as quick as if one had chosen "Expedited Shipping". I've seen a number of cases where "Standard Shipping" arrives as fast as "Expedited Shipping" from China, at least for FedEx shipments.

I ordered at 1:30AM Pacific on the 14th and was quoted 5 October. Went to Preparing to Ship as of yesterday and as of today it's on it's way from China with a planned delivery of 27 September, but again, I would not be surprised to see it earlier than that.

Order in "Preparing for Shipment"

I have ordered a black 32gig att one at 4:45est on 14th. It changed to preparing for shipment and has been there for 36 hours. This morning I used track by reference on UPS and it shows that its in ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2012 10:55 P.M. Arrival Scan.
