iPhone 5 Available to ship:2 weeks / Delivers Oct 5

Anyone scared off of the black?

My black 64 is preparing, and they charged my card. Just wondering if I should return it unopened to get the white. Anyone else considering this too? Really like the look of the black, but all these threads about defects have me nervous.
 
My phone is still in ZhengZhou, China with a scheduled arrival of Friday the 28th. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. Is there any chance I could see it before Friday?

There have been MAYBE 100 people here max that have had issues, and that is out of the millions that were manufactured and mailed. They also had the first batch, which were more prone to error. I wouldn't worry about it. It is blown way out of proportion.

Card was charged last night! FINALLY! and my status was changed to Preparing for Shipment! But it still says Available to ship: 2 weeks
Delivers Oct 5 via Standard Shipping. I am hoping to get it before the 5th as I leave for my vacation on Oct 4.

Based in this info then you should certainly get it well before the 5th. Should be shipped in the next 24-48 hours.

Oh I hope so, I keep reading that people were stuck in "preparing for shipment" for eternity... As long as I get it before Oct 4 I will be happy. Hopefully all of the cancellations I am reading about will speed up my delivery!

How do you know what flight your phone is on? Is this the same UPS tracking by reference? That still hasn't worked for me. :(

We looked at the time our phones left Hong Kong and found the nearest UPS flights out of there. Did yours leave Hong Kong yet?

I got a feeling its in Hong Kong but hasnt been scanned yet, if I were betting man our phones will be in Alaska by tomorrow night and in Louisville by Monday.

UPS says delivery on the 22nd from Zhengzhou to Los Angeles (where I am) by Wednesday at noon
 
Well, just got off the phone with Apple trying to cancel the order & even though it says "preparing for shipment" and there is still no tracking for it, the rep said it shipped & would have to process a return after arriving.
