I've heard of others who have said that the Oct. 5 ship date is "overestimated" and that those phones will be shipped 9/26 - 9/28.

Have you heard any of this?

I have no idea, but I doubt whether any 'official' source will be telling the truth anyway.
 
Mine has been in Kentucky since 7am... Wondering if Monday is a possibility or Tuesday more likely.... I'm in Greenville sc

I ordered the black 32GB on the 15th and there's still no info other than "processing" so I'm definitely feeling your pain. Tried punching in my phone and delivery number on UPS and nothing. It's sickening watching people who ordered a few hours before and the same day as me having theirs shipped. Should just have held my nerve and waited until release day to get one instore. Would have expected at least to be preparing for shipping by now.

Right, nobody had a choice of shipping options, yet some orders went out 'Express' and some 'Expedited' -- the point of my question. Thanks though for stopping by ;)

I called Apple to ask about my order and was told that Oct 5 was assigned to the 2nd wave of pre-orders once the initial batch sold out as a 'no-later-than' delivery date.
 
I just spoke with an apple rep and they said some are shipping from the US and others are straight from China. But everyone will recieve their phone between wed oct 3- 5... Tomorrow I can pick one up while everyone is at work and cancel over the phone... Or go to an apple store.

Good question. I ordered one white and one black both 16gb within 10 min of each other. The one I ordered last shipped today and the first ordered is still preparing (black). I've been charged for both. This is the most confusing thing ever. I don't understand why they are not shipping in the order received. Two coworkers ordered hours after me and they both shipped last Friday (16gb black).

There are people here with such severe cases obsessive compulsive disorder. That a Platoon of Clinical Psychologist could retire studying. I have been reading in amazement that ordering a phone could be this serious to anyone.

Update:
Got a shipping confirmation email from apple at (5:36PM) that my black 64 has shipped on (yesterday). On the UPS site it's still sitting in ZhengZou since the 9-21 according to finding it via reference tracking


White 32gb as I mentioned earlier is still in Louisville.

-All of the members of the forum simultaneously fall to their knees. They have been damaged beyond repair by the cruel and chiding words and can no longer fully function. Their self destruct mechanism has been activated by such a heavy reality check. As the clock counts down from ten they all have one wish: that they hadn't cared if their £600+ phone had been delivered speedily and safely enough-

Hmmm! Can't really see how this is different than, say, checking sports scores and stats (but that's just me, I am sure you are right!)

Apple is a global company. Sure they're located in the US, but (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!) I remember reading that Apple sells more iPhones outside the US than inside. Why cater to just those in the US? (and yes, I live in the US)
 
With out going searching I was just curious if anyone had been following other threads to see how long delivery is after it arrives in Kentucky?

I realize that we may be the first batch since the embargo was lifted though

It is different, the phones are shipping out in a random order! If you want to think of it like a line, then my 5AM order should have been shipped instead of seeing people who ordered at 12pm getting their shipment notifications. Thir order makes no sense! I'm still stuck on preparing for shipment even though I orders at 5Am EST. :-(

I am not the owner (buyer) of the iPhone (I am just using it) and he would not care to call Apple.

Also, I am buying it from Verizon not through the Apple Store.
