Adding my screenshot...just got my new iPhone 5 last night. I have to say the battery seems to be draining faster than it did on my iPhone 4, but it could be due to the LTE or heavier usage. Does anyone know if the battery life improves after a few full cycles?

Anyone can post battery life with everything turned on? By that I mean:
Brightness 100%
iCloud on
Find My Friends on
Find my iPhone on
Push notifications on
E-mail pushing every 15 minutes for 1-5 accounts?
That's how I like my iPhone, but now I have iPhone 4 and looking forward to iPhone 5 and is it improvement.

FYI Email "pushing" every 15 minutes isn't a push. It's a PULL. You have to configure your gmail (or whoever your email provider is) as an exchange account in order to set it up as a true instantaneous PUSH account. I did this and am loving instant emails arriving constantly rather than every 15 minutes.

LTE is battery killer!

I thought I'd share my results, sorry can't add screens since the forum doesn't support pictures, only links.

I've had phone for 1 week now - battery life was poor, much worse then 4S. in 10 hours real-time with only 2-3 hours of usage I'd be down to 20% battery from a full charge. this has been a typical day for me since 9/21.

After reading this forum today, I turned off LTE around 10am where I was at 74% remaining battery at that time. I've now gone 5 hours (mostly standby) and my battery dropped only 3%!! normally at this time of the day I'd be at 50%.

So LTE is killing my battery. I'm fine disabling since I don't have LTE on AT&T in my area yet.

Just checked my usage data again...

Usage: 2 hours, 55 min
Standby: 8 hours

Battery: 34%

Config:
LTE: Off
WiFi: Off
Location: Only for a handful of key apps
Brightness: Auto

This is crazy, I'm going to AT&T after work to see what they can do.

Whatever, I just want to know those results!

My battery life sucks.

Listened to some podcasts (non-streamed) (2 hours). Checked my fantasy team (30 min). Read the web for maybe an hour. and sent 40 texts. My phone was completely dead by 6PM. No pic cause it died.

Iphone 5, Restored from backup, ATT, LTE area

I get about 7 hours of usage by the time it's ready to kill over. Tried some other tips I've seen people say have helped their battery life. I guess I'm just incredibly spoiled with iPads battery.

Currently at 16 hours of standby, 2 hours of use, and my battery is at 72%.

I'm pretty happy with those numbers.

If I bring my phone to an Apple store and complain about the battery, what are my chances of getting it replaced?

What about if I do return and exchange online, what issues would I get!

It's crazy that while I'm typing this message, I lost 2% charge already.

What you have your brightness as?

Just as a message to everyone that is having really bad battery life.

I did a restore from an iCloud backup when I originally got my phone. I was getting about 4 hours of battery before it was at 5% battery. I could actually watch the percent at the top of the screen go down it was crazy.

I did a restore on iTunes and set it up as a new phone. Re-synced all of the apps and set up iCloud again.

My battery life has almost tripled since then with the exact same usage.

This is what Apple is going to tell you if you try to bring the phone back, so backup your phone and give it a shot. If it doesn't work, then there is actually an issue with the phone.

I too did a restore and set it up as a new phone and I am shocked by how much better the batter life is. I pulled it off the charger around 7:30pm and now at 9:07 it's still at 100%!

I've been browsing the web on wi-fi, texting, taken a 5 minute call and basically adjusting my phone to the way it was before the restore and it hasn't touched the battery yet.

Stats:

Usage: 52 min
Standby: 1 Hour, 20 min

LTE: Off
Bluetooth: Off
WiFi: On
Auto Brightness
~ 40%
Fetch mail every 30 min from 1 account

Wow. Mine is:

3 hours 43 minutes of usage
66% battery left

WIFI ON
LTE ON
LOCATION ON for most apps
BRIGHTNESS: set almost halfway (right about the second to last S in "brightness) / auto turned off

I'm currently at 22% battery life with 3 hours 40 minutes of usage. All location services turned off.

after 3 full discharges, the 6 hr usage is with LTE on all day, no wifi; the 7 hrs usage no LTE, 90% wifi all day; similar usage, email, browsing and imessage, no music, 30% brightness no auto brightness, 2 push email exchange accounts

Pretty big improvement, what does everyone think, a keeper?

Here's mine. Usage consisted of one 30 minute phone call, texting, browsing, and checking email. LTE only. Auto brightness, 30%. Seems like poor battery life, but I wanted to see what you guys thought. I did plug it in for about 15 minutes while I took a shower.

I'm pretty happy with this. Wifi on all day and 4G where I'm at until the end of the year.

Pleased with my battery life. Set up my
phone as new. Disabled location services for passbook since it was activating every other minute. I was on wifi, LTE, and 4 g, made at least one hour of phone calls, a bunch of texts, e mailed some video clips of my kids, watch a little Netflix on 4g, checked e mail and surfed the web a lot.

Mine has lasted about as long as my iPhone 4 did. I used it today for texting, email, music, pandora, surfing the web, YouTube- all over LTE. Never once on wifi.

20 Min in calls.
~40 texts
Browsing forums, web pages
30 min streaming music to Apple TV
30-40 min of music with head phones in
3-4 emails
15 picture messages sent
Facebook for a bit
All on wifi
Screen 35% with location turned on for a couple apps

Seems to be on par with what I've been getting ~7 hours a day of usage.

Is that about average?

i've been getting excellent battery life.

last night i checked when i hit 1% and i had about 9 and a half hours of usage, and about 15 hours of standby (not plugged in once in between).

At this rate this charge looks like it'll last me about 6 hours, which is what I'd been averaging so far. Wi-fi and Bluetooth off, LTE and location services on, all mail accounts set to push. Not doing anything out of the ordinary: surfing the web, reading mails, texting, some photos, games, music.

My 4 got slightly better times with the same level of usage, but I'm still okay with the battery life so far. Also maybe this'll improve over time as others have mentioned.

Does turning off iCloud push help. I set it to manual. Only thing I'm curious about is how do I access iCloud to fetch and what was it exactley pushing. It was under mail. I'm confused about that.
