Most of my usage was music playing, some web browsing on mostly on LTE and text messaging a lot throughout the whole time.

My brightness is to auto, LTE and WIFI are set to on. Bluetooth is off.

I did use "Do not disturb" at work from 9 AM to 5 PM but I was still constantly unlocking it to change songs and reply to texts.

but where is your brightness slider set too? and did you restore from backup or as new??

Here's mine. Mostly music listening, 3-4 hours of iheartradio streaming, internet browsing, social media, some gaming. Connected to WiFi most of the time. Brightness varied.

I'm really happy with mine coming from a droid. I had over 24 hours on a single charge with 20 percent left. I think 8 hours of usage. On my droid I would of probably had to charge twice

7 hours 49 minuteds used
22 hours 51 minutes standby

24% battery left

1 Push email account

3 fetch hourly

~90% brightness

Push notifications from google voice, scorecenter.

LTE on all the time. Wifi at the house, LTE on campus. Usually 3-5 bars.

Mine is not good at all. Wifi and location services are always on, but they were with my iPhone 4 too, and the battery of my 5 drains far faster.

Just browsing the internet on it it drops the battery percentage quickly. It's only had about 5 full charges so far so I'll see how it progresses over the next few weeks. I dispute the 1hr 33 minute usage too. It's been in my pocket most of the morning.

My battery is getting better. Today I went on Twitter and Instagram, a lot of texting, a couple short phone calls, and about 30 minutes of music play in the car. Mostly over wifi and AT&T 4G.

My battery life has been getting better after putting a few cycles on it. It's still not as great as I'd like it to be, but no loger concerning like it was the first couple days I had the phone.

I feel like my battery is really inconsistent. Right now, I'm at 92% after some morning email, facebook twitter which amounts to 39 minutes of usage and 56 minutes of standby. That seems bad to me.

Yesterday, at the end of the day, I was at 26% with 5 hours, 35 minutes of usage and 12 hours, 46 minutes of standby. Would you consider this bad battery life? I'm going to the apple store today for some other issues with the phone, so I'm wondering if this is something to bring up. I'm on Sprint, so I never use LTE. I use Wifi 95% of the day, and I haven't been streaming music or movies.

How much do you all think using bluetooth effects the battery life? Yesterday my phone was dead after 4:40 of usage/9:50 standby with only 2:45 of talk time all over bluetooth, 5-7 minutes of Hulu over 4G, 20 minutes of music over bluetooth and less than 15 minutes of browsing (and 10 of those minutes were over wifi). I was on wifi for probably 3/4 of the time.

On the one hand, that seems terrible, but on the other hand my past experience has been that using bluetooth headsets is a battery killer, so I don't know that it's out of the ordinary.

No, that seems fine to me.

Must stop obsessing about battery life people. Count on 10% per hour for the average/light user; a bit (or a lot) more if you have dozens of notifications or emails coming in, or use location services a lot, or are in a low signal area a lot. It just depends. Everyone will be different.

One thing everyone should do is drain their battery once a month, then charge it to full while it's completely off. Google parasitic load since I don't want to explain it for the umpteenth time.

Anyone use Downcast or the Podcast.app? My wife's iPhone 5 lasts a bit longer than mine and the only app I use that she doesn't is Downcast so I'm blaming that. I've set all the settings to manual so it's not constantly pinging or downloading but still get bad battery life so I'm considering switching to the Podcast.app but I'm not sure if that will be any better in terms of battery life.

Turning off LTE made MAJOR improvement in battery. I went from barely able to get 12 hours standby with 3 hours of light usage. to these new figures! 2 days standby!!! If you don't live in LTE area, disable it and get three times the battery life!

I can't upload a pic of right now but my battery is 27% with 4 hours of usage and a 24 hour standby.

I'am really dissapointed. Right now Iam just streaming a youtube-video cause I want it to drain til it dies. (it's my first charge)..
Then I'll charge the phone turned off (manually). Someone told me I should do so.

Hell, Iam dissapointed.

Showing Sprint some love since most people here have AT&T and big red.. This is done with mostly 3-4 bars, no wifi no Bluetooth, no lte and mostly surfing the Internet watching YouTube videos and a couple of FaceTime calls

Liking this a lot.

First day had poor performance, so drained it down to 0 then charged it overnight. Second day = above screenshot. Now charging it a day a later.

Incredible!!!!

Made lots of calls and a bit of surfing, twitter, new/weather apps, and a few pics. Mostly wifi.:D

Hopefully it improves. I find some claims here to be way over the top.

Bought the phone on the 28th. Used it the whole day until the battery drained out at night. Left the phone off and went to sleep. Put it to charge around 8 hours later.

Until now: (see screenshot)
(And a 10% remaining...)

Super impressive to me. I can't recall my 4S ever having this battery life!

What does everyone think? No LTE, brightness has been at half, with auto brightness off. Just a lot of texting and safari browsing mostly.

Think there is something wrong with mine. I went into apple & they said that the battery was fine & that maybe I should turn off Bluetooth and LTE... I said what's the point of having the phone if I have to do that?
They reset it & said not to restore it from a backup & see if it gets any better. It didn't so ill be going back in tomorrow.
