On the second charge my battery life is even better. Still have enough juice left to get through a few more hours today. I didn't set my iPhone up as new, instead I restored from a backup of my 4S which also had excellent battery life.

Here's mine from yesterday's usage. Pretty good compared to my old 4S. That last 1% took forever...

Lots of texting, browsing, Facebook and definitely lots of streaming music over wifi. I was on LTE probably half of the time.

I think what I'm going to do is wipe my phone and start fresh and add apps back that I use frequently, but kind of "1 by 1" to see if there are any that are killing the battery more than another.

I also did a restore from an iCloud backup, so maybe something there is causing an issue too.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I'm seeing much higher than what I'm getting and they have LTE on. I guess its a trip to the Apple store for me!
I would recommend to have them test the battery on the swapped out one before you leave the store.

What do you expect with the screen on and using LTE? Do you want 24 hours of battery life? Y'all need to have some reasonable expectations

Chill. Usage does not denote screen-on activity, and that battery life is way worse than others with the same model are reporting.

i expect it to get what apple claims it to. 8 hours using lte with my screen on.. didnt know that was unreasonable

you username manifests itself in your post

I don't really know what is 'normal' (if anything!) regarding battery life. Could someone check this out and let me know please?
It was charged over night to 100% then used during the day for texting, internet, Facebook/Twitter apps and a couple of very short calls. Thanks...

My phones gets 3 hours of lte browsing till its dead. Anyone that's posting 10 hours On a single charge has to be on wifi.

I wish I saw this thread before I charged my phone an hour ago.

My phone was at 20%, it was at 8 hours of usage, 2 days and 6h of standby. This is on LTE, location services turned off. I'll try to remember to post one when my phone's battery goes down again.

Great battery life for me. I ain't charged since I got it Friday and I used it for 4 hours solid setting it up. I always set up as new. Every year we get these post and its always from using a back up. I'll post a screen shot after my first full charge.

Was going to wait until bedtime (really cannot be bothered to take a charger to work just to test the battery out), but this all lined up so perfectly. On 3G most of the day but not too much data usage, push/location/everything on. Several hours of music (Spotify, mostly cached). Coming from a two year-old Android device I'm chuffed :)

I've had good battery life. I come from iPhone 4 which gave me better results than this.
I've all radios on all the time. I ran down the last 9% by streaming a 24 min youtube video via LTE.

iPhone 5 Battery Life Fix

I believe I've found the fix for everyone having issues:

1. Do one full discharge (till it dies) and full charge to calibrate the %'age. This has NOTHING to do with "tricking" a Li-Ion, it's software calibration apple uses solely.

2. Disable location services.

3. Disable Bluetooth (Apple rep told us to do this).

4. Use wifi whenever possible.

Let me know what you guys discover after trying this!!! I'm still testing this.
