My Otterbox Defender also arrived today! About to unbox it... so excited!

Update: feels quite a bit thinner than the previous model Otterbox. The belt clip definitely has a much thinner profile as well. Pics in a min!

Last edit, I promise: The "rubber" feels much more like plastic than the past models. It's not as sticky and more smooth, so I predict it will be much easier to slip in and out of a pocket than its predecessors!

So what skin is everyone getting?

I'd like to get something that can be applied dry (no wet squigeeing), is thin and clear, and comes with one for both the front and back.

Did BestSkinsEver 2 years ago and wasn't happy about the wet application or the orange peel / thickness. Thanks!

Also, those NUDE -style cases everyone is talking about, is there one made more like the Griffin Reveal where the part covering the metal band is soft plastic? The Apple Bumper I got for free with my iPhone 4 ended up scratching the metal band big time, and I don't want to go the hard case route...

Has anyone received the Photive Hybrid iPhone 5 Bumper Case from Amazon yet?

I ordered on Friday and it still hasn't shipped. Thinking of canceling

Here's a link to some pics I took - sorry if they don't show a whole lot, I was just using my iPhone and the lighting in my room is horrible.

Awesome pics, thanks!

I see you have one for the 4/4S. Is this case pretty good at guarding against scratches / scuffs to the sides and back? Also, how much thickness would you say it adds overall?

Question:

when I click the link, some of the cases have covered the side buttons, where as the black and clear cases seem to not have covers over the side buttons.

Am I just not seeing it correctly?

I had a clear nude for my 4, and its buttons were not covered.

One thing I didn't like about the nude is that there wasn't much plastic between the volume button cutouts, and it ended up breaking. It also didn't have a lip, so the phone wouldn't have fared well if I'd dropped it on its face.

I also would not get a clear again, unless you don't mind cleaning out the ugly dirt fairly regularly.

Stay away from MonoPrice.com Screen Protectors :(

Are there any places that are shipping out screen protectors yet?

Just got my order from MonoPrice.com, whom I have used in the past many times and been very happy. This time, not so much. The item (specifically, the cut) they are advertising is not the product you receive. I've contacted them, as I have a feeling that this is not what they thought they had bought to sell either.

I've posted pic here: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=15740465#post15740465

Thanks for the info! I will definitely stay away. I'm sure monoprice will rectify the issue, though.

Case #2 Arrived today! This time it's a case-mate Pop! Case. It's the black and gray version. It has a stand in the back of it, something I probably won't ever use. Just waiting on the Steinheil Screen Protectors.

anyone know of any good clear cases??? think about getting this for now http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPU-Back-So...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item2c68277708

Do you think this is a thin case?

Has anyone tried the Zero 5 case by CAZE, they claim to be the worlds thinnest 0.5mm yet claim to be ultradurable.

They do look very sophisticated and sexy tho.

These cases look to be the thinnest. .5mm and 1mm. I'll be getting both the Zero and the Nude.

Love me a bumper case

I think the BUMPER case makes more sense than ever before due to the change of the back. I always used to worry about scratching the back if I didn't have a Zagg Skin or some other plastic cover on it. With the new polished back, I don't think we have to worry as much about the smallest objects scratching the glass. Can't wait for my bumper to arrive!!! :D
