iPhone 5 Now Available for Pre-Order

Ughhhh

AT&T web, phone, and app stores are down, they're my only option because I have a business discount, so Apple gags.

Really didn't want to end up lining up early (assuming AT&T stores even get stock right away?), but I guess that's how AT&T wants to treat those that get service at (relatively) reasonable prices
 
If you can't get in with Safari

I had Remove All website data to get the store to appear.
Safari >Preferences >Privacy>Remove all website data

Sorry, my posting was ambiguous. What I meant was DON'T ORDER ANYTHING ELSE AT THE SAME TIME AS YOUR PHONE, not don't use your phone to order!
 
Try quitting your browsers and restarting them (or clear your browser cache). I get the store down page on Firefox buy I get the actual store when I open on Safari.
 
very peculiar

hmmm, couldn't go to sleep, still too excited i guess... tried to look at my order on the apple site and it seems its down once again.
 
Missed Applecare+ through App. Couldnt find it anywhere in a hurry. Did anyone get to order Applecare+ through the App?
 
Apple Store App - smooth and simple

Apple Store app worked perfectly. Placed and order for my wife and I (had to do it as 2 orders). Quick and easy.
 
I can't believe I just went from 16GB to 32GB in a heartbeat...I was set on 16 but thought "Hey, I have 2GB available on my 16GB 4S and I've only had it for a year...I have a feeling I'll need 32GB since I'm keeping this one for 2 years."

Plus I got AppleCare+...$425 down the drain lol
 
The app would not work at all for me (wouldn't allow me to sign in). AT&T had the same issue. The Apple site however was pretty flawless as long as I went through as a guest. 2 black and slate 16 GB and 1 32GB AT&T iPhones ordered.
 
Ok Found safari Issue

Go to Safari Preferences then to privacy and go to "Remove all data" "details" button located below on right hand side and look for apple and remove it and then refresh page. It worked for me and just ordered my phone .
 
FYI, used Firefox as someone had suggested and got my 64GB black iPhone5. Thanks to the people who added to this thread with tips. Now I can go back to bed and sleep. Soooooooooo much better than last year, but still frustrating given the whole "store is down" thing when it isn't. I shouldn't have to try 3 different web browsers to get an order placed.
 
This dance of changing billing addresses because they won't ship to a different address is stupid. How much verification did I have to put in? Drivers license, SSN? Just ship it where I want it! Most people who can afford a $300 phone and $100 a month service have JOBS.
 
Can someone PLEASE CHECK if you can use an Apple Gift Card on the Apple App when checking out? Thanks!!
 
Used IOS app to order 64GB Black ATT, verified at every step I could that I was keeping my unlimited (taking screen shots along the way!) Could not have went better. even got a 32GB Black ATT for the wife while she sleeps! :eek: :D

The apt # is shown on my confirmation email. In shipping and billing address.

Exact same thing here... so annoying. I wouldn't doubt this means we won't get the phone on 9/21
 
YOU CAN change the shipping address

If you are a Verizon customer and need it shipped somewhere else, order thru verizonwireless.com and it allows you to change the shipping address! I am 90 miles from home attending training and it allowed me to change my address to here since I will be here next Friday.

Processing Items:
We are processing your order now. You can modify your order details through online Order Status, or by contacting Apple Online Store Customer Service.
Preparing for Shipment:
We're currently preparing your order and, as a result, are unable to modify it at this point. If items are being shipped directly to you, we'll send you a Shipment Notification email. I just changed mine to ship to me (about 800 miles away from my parents where it was going). You have to change it on the order page. Wait for the status to change to "Processing" and then you can edit it. Be quick though because once it exits that stage you can no longer edit the shipping address.
