all - one huge piece of advice. You can only ship the phone to the address on your phone's account. If you want it shipped somewhere else, first go to at&t and login (or whoever the carrier), change your home address, then go back to apple and order it. They pull the address from the carrier and if you don't want it shipped to that address, they'll say you have to pick up in store!!!

OR
Just click the order confirmation number in the email they send you, and change the address on apple.com afterwards. I did just that and it is all fine and dandy now
 
Zero problems on both the Verizon website and through the phone. I didn't wait on the line for more than 20 seconds before I spoke to someone.
 
The UK Store "preorder" button keeps forwarding to the "buy" page. I need to know how much will the 64 unlocked will be in pounds. Anyone knows?
 
Sprint was up for a few seconds and I got to the iPhone 5 page and it prompted me to log in, and when I did it glitched and said the site was down. Come on!

It does't even give the option to add a line to an existing account for Sprint, in the Apple Store either. I think the Sprint people are still asleep.
 
Shipping Address

So I finally got through using Apple.com!!!! :D:apple::D But it did not give me an option to change my shipping address....:confused:

If you're upgrading, it is tied to the address on your cellphone account. I went in and changed my shipping address on AT&T and 30 seconds later went to Apple site and ordered... it sailed through. :)
 
Wasn't available last year at launch. What makes you think differently this year?

I would never dare think differently. :D

But a couple of sites were citing Apple employes claiming that the unlocked, off-contract phones were going to be available, too.

And I was up, anyway :)
 
Same here. Main line (though not eligible for subsidized pricing) stayed on our 4GB data plan, but the add on line (but it IS eligible for upgrade pricing) forced me to choose between the new plan (in my case, 5GB/tethering). I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that I'm renewing a contract with one and not the other or if it's something funky just because we have a family plan.

I too have family plan as the primary account holder, purchase went fine through the app store app. Rate plan details for me only said "Data Plan...$30 Unlimited Data" and no other details of my plan.

my first purchase took several tries at the apple ID stage, but my wife's phone sailed through. I've only received a confirmation email for my phone and none yet for her phone, but I snapped a photo of each purchase while on my iPad in the app store.
 
ATT Password

Possibly because AT&T's servers are still having issues.

Mine kept telling me that my password was wrong. But then I just tried again (because I was sure it was right) and after the 2nd or 3rd try it let me in. :cool:
 
OMFG! Sprint is just frickin unbearable. Seems both Sprint and AT&T have no idea this phone was being launched and failed to plan for the expected demand. What's even funnier is Sprint has a page up that states I can also visit a Sprint Store. Really? What's the sense of ordering online if they want you to go to one of their stores?
 
Sorry, my posting was ambiguous. What I meant was DON'T ORDER ANYTHING ELSE AT THE SAME TIME AS YOUR PHONE, not don't use your phone to order!

Once I click edit, it takes me to a login screen and after I enter my stuff, it shows me the screen to change the name and address. It also says that my order is processing. Odd.

Thanks for your help.. I went in to the account link, changed my address. But it doesnt look like it changed with the order. still showing old address on the oreder. And new address in my account shipping. I hope this changes..:(
 
Is anyone having problems with their AT&T password? I'm struggling here. It works fine on the AT&T site, but not on any of the stores.

Verizon customer here. I assume AT&T is similar in that you have a password for the carrier website, but you probably also have a pin code for over-the-phone stuff. The pin code is what worked for me, not the carrier website password.
 
Has anyone's order changed to the "Processing" status on apple.com's account page? I NEED to change the shipping to my home address here and no my bro 600 miles away. Has anyone had success with this?

I ordered through the Apple Store app and was finished in minutes. It took about 50 minutes for mine to show up as "processing" on Apple's website. Changed the shipping address and the date stayed the same as it was (9/21).
 
Finally was able to place my order through Apple.com. It took about 45 minutes, but I am happy to still see a 9/21 delivery date. Placed an order for one 64GB White & one 64GB Black (both AT&T). Had to place two separate orders. Strange. Says order limit is two, but I had trouble and had to order separately. All worked out. Good luck everyone and enjoy.
 
Are you referring to the email or the actual order status on apple.com? B/c mine says its in the received stage if I am looking at the rite part on the site it's highlited in blue? But the email got from apple says order being processed ? And my order went through at 3:18am est. Does mine sound ok?
